yes and your opinion was:
By this logic we should not host any contests that has any involvement with photoshop. SOTW shouldn't be hosted because on older versions of photoshop it would take a lot more time and effort to create these signatures or the manga colouring contest should be cancelled because back in the day people used to use an old version of photoshop, but now they use manga studio which makes it easier ?
Rendering takes at least two to three hours if you want to win the contest, where not talking about a simple magic wand three minute render that a monkey could do. It has been proven time and time again that this contest is a success on gfx forums and on OPB.
Here is Silvergins entry on OPB - It took him 4 hours to render this image.
4 hours work deserves awards.
So yeah i do think you are being stubborn and childish not to change your opinion as it has been proved that rendering an image takes a lot of time and skill with using the latest photoshop tools and functions, i don't know if its some sort of pride issue and you cannot give in because of that, but clearly rendering an image is a lot of work and effort no matter what version of photoshop you use.
--------------------
I just want to point out this isn't some sort of personal attack on you, but I'm just telling you why i disagree with you.
I am really starting to doubt your reading comprehension skills.
What part of, "I'm not changing my opinion on this matter" makes you want to continue to change my personal view on the subject matter?
Also, your analogy is incorrect and is the result of taking my words out of context. Are you aware that in order to create a signature for signature of the week, you must select an image or images that relates to the theme and create a render from it? That is just 2 steps. Then you have to select font, coloring, filters/effects/enhancements, and put all of that together in a manner that is presentable and possibly artistic. That is, of course, if you hope to win.
Essentially, you are equating the creation of one element of a signature to the final product. Are you sure that it's
my logic that is flawed?
My next point is that you also don't seem to understand the concept of what constitutes a "personal attack," and what the meaning of the word stubborn versus consistent means.
Rather than argue against my opinion, which I have already told you is pointless since I'm not going to change it, you choose to argue against my logic as well as my attitude by stating that I am being childish and stubborn, all of which makes it personal.
What is blatantly apparent to me is that it's impossible for you to accept that someone else has a differing opinion. I can't voice my disagreement without you trying to convince me that I'm wrong. Yeah, 4 hours, big deal. As already mentioned, the thought would be that you have 2 weeks to complete the render; two full weeks; and you're trying to tell me that spending 4 hours out of 14 to make something is worthy of an award? [assuming you can't spare more than 1 hour per day to work on projects/hobbies].
I am not being childish or stubborn in the least. I have stated my opinion which you are free to disregard, but all I asked was that you not try and change my mind, which, you have failed to do. I don't agree with this contest and I will not change that just because you or others feel that I should. It's not right to suggest something and then only allow people to agree with it. Respect my wishes, and I'll respect yours. You can argue for why you want this contest all you want and I won't stop you. I just don't want you wasting your time trying to convince me that I need to agree with a suggestion that I
don't agree with.

As for "not being rich and able to buy photoshop," I seriously want to know what makes you think that the majority of people actually shell out $600 for the program. :| Most youth pirate it. Right or wrong, they still do it, so don't tell me that no one here can gain access to it.
