"Reincarnations" of Sage and Avatars of Hinduism (READ PLEASE)

The linkage is that Buddhism is inherently derived from Hinduism. Only difference is the ways they interpret the method of reincarnation.

The point is the concept of Soul Transmigration is not present in the teachings of Buddhism unlike Hinduism that's why in Buddhism it's called Rebirth not Reincarnation which implies the transmigration of the soul, the absence of permanence is the core difference of Buddhism and Hinduism and Rikudou's rebirth is a Buddhism concept.

Unfortunately the Naruto Manga has predominantly Buddhism and Shintoism influence, not Hinduism.

Naruto is a Samsaric Rebirth of Rikudou Sennin which is a Buddhist and not a Hindu concept, Buddhism unlike Hinduism does not believe in a permanent self (Anatta) therefore Naruto's Soul is Rikudou's Soul but their identity, memories are different from each other only sharing the Karmic imprints of the rebirthed soul.

Though one cannot deny the roots of modern buddhism are from hinduism, infact there are many more elements in Naruto that are in Hinduism. But this was a simple comparison =D.

As for the reincarnation, the reincarnation of the 3 mentioned in fact is similar to the one in Buddhism. Lord Ramma prayed and worshipped lord Vishnu, though he was his reincarnation. There are also different types of reincarnation in Hinduism alone. The one used in Buddhism is also derived from Hinduism.


Rebirth is a KIND of reincarnation. For example the religion of Sikhism, uses a different concept of reincarnation, but the roots are still the same.

lol. Its really weird. But the thing is some people like to predict what will happen in the manga and how things will be set up, by using mythology and religious contrasts.

Only difference is Naruto won't have the memories that Rikudou had against the Juubi in his era, but they will share similar and or the same characteristics across the board (Mostly personality wise).

They share similitude no doubt, but they are also two literary juxtaposed characters: They are both Uzumaki and yet Naruto has yellow hair while Rikudou has red hair, Naruto like Rikudou had friendship with the Bijuus but the former has no knowledge of Fuuinjutsu while the latter is a master in Fuuinjutsu, Naruto like Rikudou is good in talking/diplomacy but the former is brash while the latter is reserved and dignified.

That probably happened over time for Rikudou. Both of them can be considered wise (Naruto for his age and Rikudou is a Sage) and both have the ability to sway people to listen to their words (Kakashi noted that about Naruto as did Chiyo and Rikudou literally preached and taught Ninshu). They look more similar the more you delve in to it.
