Ah, a tragic fate indeed. I'm sure you remember the information about Earth Release, so we're only going to be doing techniques in this training session of ours.

(Doton No Jutsu) - Earth Release Technique

Descripton: Creates small pillars of earth, small tools, and small shields of earth
Alright, come over here and place both of your palms on the ground, before focusing your doton chakra into it. Mold your chakra and utilize it to change the structure of the ground itself to forcefully cause a single fairly blunt pillar of earth to rise out of the ground in between the space of your laid out palms. Take care, you could very well impale either of your hands if you lose concentration, even for a second. This technique can create nearly any earth-based construct you desire, as long as its small in magnitude and size. Its best used for making pillars, small tools, weapons ad shields.

Key points: One of the most useful lower ranking techniques. Its used quite commonly, due to its sheer versatility in battle. People tend to use it to create a pillar beneath them for aerial elevation, but when doing this make sure you specify that the pillar is blunt and will cause no damage when propelling you up into the air. Dodging via movement is sometimes more Charka-efficent than direct technique clashes, so always make sure to assess the situation correctly. Never use this jutsu to evade large scale attacks e.g. S-Rank Fire walls and streams.

Now, break off the pillar you have raised from the ground and focus your chakra into it, utilizing your chakra to sharpen the blunt construct of rock into serrated spear which can be used as a melee or ranged weapon. All the while, make sure to maintain its form, so it doesn't crumble as you attempt to morph its structure. Once you're content with your spear, toss it towards the nearby targets and aim to strike the bull's eye.

Hei places both his hands on the ground and begins focusing chakra into the focal point in between his palms.. Hei then releases his chakra while being sure to maintain it's focus. This rises a small blunt pillar in front of him.. Hei then moves to grab the piller but before he can it crumbles. "Heehee, I guess I am really out of practice" Hei says with an sarcastic tone as he scratches the back of his head. Hei places his palms back onto the ground, focusing his chakra Hei rises another blunt pillar in front of himself, this one more dense then the last. Hei then continues by grabbing the pillar and breaking it off the ground. Hei focuses his chakra into it, causing it to become more dense it's refined and takes the shape of a staff. Hei then scouts the area around him before quickly throwing the staff with grate force off into the distance. The Staff hits and kills a Bird that was flying near. "Oh crap, I didn't mean for that to happen" Hei thinks to himself as a shocked facial expression takes over him.. "Yeah, I totally just killed that thing" Hei says, making it seem as though the act of killing the bird was intentional.

I would like you to focus your doton chakra into your arm, whilst envisioning the nature of the element to generate a small ring of rocks around you. Then with a nonchalant flick of your arm, send the spinning ring of rocks towards your spear, intercepting it and causing the two techniques to destroy one another.

Key Points: Unsure if the rocks come from the ground or are a manifestation of your own chakra. Do not specify how you create the rocks, stick to the description of the technique to be safe.

Mold that same chakra to cause multiple sections of rock to rise up and around my clone (in a set formation). From those sections, I want you to form two gigantic sections of stone to crush my clone in between as they collide.

Hei quickly brings both arms to his side while rising his chakra levels and focusing it to the gound, this forces the ground to brake apart as pieces of the rock flout up around Hei. He then flings his arm to the side aiming the rocks at the on coming spear counting them to clash and crumble. Hei then turns his gaze upon a clone of Kakazu, focusing his chakra and forming the rat handseal causing the ground under the clone to shift as segments rise and smash the clone from the sides.

While underground one can sense what is happening on the surface and use the information to launch a surprise attack on the enemy. Once can also hide deep in the ground, escaping to a depth where the enemy cant reach. It also appears that after digging, the ground can be returned to its original state, leaving no trace of where the user entered the earth.

For this next technique, I want you to release your doton chakra into the ground below via your feet before utilizing that same chakra to alter the very consistency of the ground beneath you. Change the earth to a sandy-like composition, allowing you to dig through it as if you were a mole, hence the name of the jutsu. Whilst you move around underground, you must maintain this jutsu or suffer being crushed the moment you cease it. As you go underground, return the ground to its original appearance, leaving no trace of you entering the earth.

Key Points: Hmm...where to begin ? At first, this may seem like the ultimate evasion tactic, but do not be fooled. If your opponent sees you go underground, senses your presence underground and etc, you're finished. Jutsus which manipulate the earth itself e.g. sink holes and forming swamps, will leave you trapped beneath the earth's surface and most likely crushed/buried one way or another. Using this technique against Doijutsu users is more or less a no go. The same applies to sensors, the Kiyoshi and Binkan. Always make sure you know of your opponent's abilities, before attempting such a risky move. When I first started out, I died three times in a row trying to use this jutsu xD.

However, let's say the opponent doesn't see you go underground for whatever reason e.g. they lower the ground around you, severing the sight between you two. You could go underground and launch a successful surprise attack, killing them. You just have to weigh up the benefits and risks of attempting such a move.

(Doton: Shinju Zanshu no Jutsu) - Earth Release: Double Suicide Decapitation Technique

Once you've gotten acquainted with moving around, I'd like you to emerge beneath my clone and pull him into the ground, leaving nothing but his head above the surface of the floor. Leave the ground as you do this, effectively trading places with him.

Hei focuses the ground under himself using his doton chakra, forming it into a sand like quality allowing for him to move into the ground, by maintaining his chakra Hei successfully moves about underground while not only being aware of the surface but also being able to return the ground to it's original state leaving little to no evidence of him being there.

Hei then moves upon your clones location and reaches out of the altered ground, Hei then pulls himself up while in the same motion pulls the clone down, this leaves Hei on the surfice of the ground while the clone is stuck within it, trapped from the neck down.

Simple but effective technique indeed. You will focus doton chakra towards the ground where your opponent stand and quickly without the need of hand seals you will rise from the ground stone spikes which will pierce the opponent from every direction. They are rather large spikes in length and very sharp. Note before the spikes actually rise just like a lot of earth techniques you will easily feel the ground become more dense around you where you stand, so you can use that window to stop the jutsu or evade.

Okay I like this technique its great for combos. The user will channel doton chakra towards the ground around the area the opponent stands. With no hand seals the user will make the ground shake. It can force the opponent off balance and also fall over this can leave a window of attack open. You can also distract them from using specific attacks. Its a very quick jutsu to perform almost instant. Its a tough technique to counter one way would be that as the ground shakes you can send a current of lightning to stop the shaking.

Description: The user spits a thick globule of mud at the target. If aimed correctly, it can blind the target's vision and choke them. It can also be used to create a sticky patch on the ground.

The opponent will gather doton chakra into their lungs and spit out a thick mud ball towards the opponent anywhere the user wants to aim, it has power to force an opponent back, when hit on the face their vision is hurt due to mud all over the place and the opponent can choke if it does hit and stay on their face. You can also aim on the ground to have a opponent trip over. Its also a projectile technique so you can quickly send another tech without hesitation and can be used with combos.

Descripton: This technique allows the ninja to control nearby stone and rock. This can be especially useful if in a cave or a stone lodging. The technique can loosen the rocks and cause them to come raining down on whomever is trapped inside.

Okay this is best used in a cave then anywhere else. The opponent will control the nearby stone and rock and loosen them up making the whole cave very fragile. The cave will then begin to cave in on itself which can trap multiple opponents and kill them. You can use this to kill multiple opponents. I recommend that you never use it when your in the cave as well for thier is a chance you can also get hit by the rocks, so try trapping the opponent by luring them in the cave and then use the tech from outside.

(Doton: Doryudan) - Earth Release: Earth Dragon Bullet

Description: When used with Earth Release: Earth Flow River, the user will then perform the Ram → Horse → Dragon they can create a dragon-like head that fires concentrated mud bullets at an opponent. This can also be combined with a fire jutsu to shoot lava toward an opponent. The dragon can be created from other mud techniques as along as a mud source is available.

This is a very basic projectile based technique. The user perform 3 hand seals and spew out a dense, concentrated ball of mud. Medium size, not so big it will cover your vision when sending it. This jutsu can be in combos with two other jutsus, its also able to travel a long range. Its one of the really basic techs but being able to hit an opponent will hurt their vision as well as push them back. Simplicity is a good thing, by the way. You can create the mud bullets by using a mud source around the area.

Description: After forming the needed hand seal (Tiger), the user transforms the ground underneath their opponent into a river of mud that throws them off balance and carries them away from the user. The mud created by this technique can also be used as a medium for the Earth Release: Earth Dragon Bullet technique.

With one hand seal you will create a river of mud under the opponent feet. Its throw them off balance as well as the mud carrying the opponent away. From their it becomes difficult for the opponent to stand straight on a moving mud river. You can send attacks while he is down from the mud. The river is made short range of you, and the overall mud length is 5 meters long when created. Right when it is created you can move on to an attack.

The user will do 4 hand seals a have rock pillars around the opponent rise from the ground. They are controlled to surround the opponent leaving them trapped. Now the pillars move quick fast when rising, their purpose is simply to trap nothing more. The opponent if caught would take them some time to free themselves before you send an attack. You will have a window of attack. Simple ways if you are stuck in the prison is cutting it with a sword running lightning, or slicing them with wind. Its best cutting them off.

(Doton: Doroku Gaeshi) - Earth Release: Earth Shore Return

Description: After striking the ground with their hands, the user manipulates the ground in front of him to form a slab that tilts upwards, up to 90º, creating a wall of earth that can defend from incoming frontal attacks. In addition, the user can also create 2 slabs that will rise and tilt to the sides in front of him, as if "opening up" the ground. This can be done to create a clear path if anything hazardous is above the ground in that specific area.

An extremely basic defensive technique. The user will place their hands on the ground rising a large wall upfront of them to block frontal attacks. Note the user can not see through the wall. Its sturdy enough to stop most projectile based techniques. Now as said you can not see through the wall so you can be surprised by attacks from the sides, above or even underground so anticipate an attack from those areas.

(Doton: Doro Hoshi) - Earth Release: Mud Spore

Description: This technique lets the user summon a river of mud infront of them. This technique can have water added to it to speed up the flow and increase its power.

The opponent will create a river up front of them and send it towards the opponent, the river is made of mud and runs slow alone, so its best to add some water to speed it up and have a more impact power. If an opponent is caught they will have restricted movement due to the heaviness of the mud as well as be pushed back. The rver goes up to mid long range. After making the mud you cna go onto another tech making it combo friendly. I would personally heat up the mud and give it a higher attack potency. Its also quick to perform but the river is straightforward and easy to evade.

Description: Using this jutsu, a person can hide underground until they're ready to attack an opponent by merging with the ground itself. By utilizing earth-chakra, the person can stealthily emerge from the ground without disrupting the ground around him. The disadvantage with this technique is that merging with the ground is rather slow and while perfomring the technique, the user is vulnerable to high ranked Earth techniques. The user isn't hidden from doujutsu or sensory ninjas and cannot travel beyond the 3 meter deep mark. Moving around in the ground is slow and the user cannot sense very well what is happening above.

This is mainly an evasion jutsu or set up jutsu. The user will slowly drop into the ground for either evading jutsus or escaping tough situations. Its very quick and simple to use. The other main way to use it, is that you can snick attack an opponent, a tough thing is you will be unable to sense anything down their so you must remember the opponents position. Also if an opponent figures out your underground your severely handicapped because you will be unable to perform any jutsu while underground. While rising from the ground though no opponent will be able to notice a disruption since its very silent. Its a great assassination type jutsu.

Description: The user will first perform the required hand seals Rabbit → Boar → Rat → Horse → Tiger → Snake and slamming the hands on the ground, the user can, by flowing concentrated chakra into the Dragon Veins flowing underground, tear the earth apart, creating large chasms by raising the earth in two oposite sides in the desired location and then splitting that piece of earth through the center. The length, width, direction, and curve of the chasm are all up to the user. Manipulating the Dragon Veins requires fine chakra control, but if one has such skill, they can use this technique to divide the space between the enemy and their own team in two, destroy enemy camps or defences, and even to attack.
Note: This does not split the earth appart directly to cause opponents to fall in the fissure.

After doing the required hand seals and placing their hands on the ground they concentrate chakra into the dragon veins of the ground and split the ground apart. The user has full control how and where they want the earth to be torn, this is very efficient jutsu to change the terrain in your favor. For example splitting the ground between you and the opponent this can stop a fast opponent from getting in close as well as push them back. A problem with the jutsu is it takes some time to perform as well as execute, this can easily leave you open for attacks. If their is a dramatic terrain change you can use this to manipulate it in your favor. As shown in the anime the trees were filled with Amaterasu flames, Yamato split the earth apart where they flames where so they can bypass them unharmed. Depending on how much chakra you add the larger it will be.

Perform the technique: Hei focuses his chakra and merges with the ground beneath himself. He does so without disrupting the earth around him.
Creative uses/strengths: Marging into the ground to avoid an attack, depended on the speed and timing of said attack. Doesn't affect the earth around the user making it harder to detect by normal means.
Drawbacks/counters: becomes vulnerable to stronger earth techniques and most lightning techniques. Moves slowly and limited movement.

Perform the technique: Hei focuses his chakra while making 6 handseals and proceeding to place his hands upon the ground. His chakra is release though the "Dragons Vains" which splits the ground apart in front of Hei and in between his teacher, separating them.
Creative uses/strengths: As you said and what we have seen in the anime, this jutsu is most useful when seperating the ground and playing field to your favor. This can be moving/creating a path though flames or placing a gap between ones self and an opponent.
Drawbacks/counters: With the multiple handseals and having to place ones hands on the ground, this can be troublesome when facing fast opponent as you would leave yourself open for attack.

Description: After performing snake hand seal the user slams their hand on the ground. The result is that the ground becomes heavily turned up with chunks of rubble popping out of the ground. This technique is used as a means to distract opponents to either create an escape or follow through with a surprise attack although it can also do some damage or be udes to destroy enemy earth techniques of equal rank and bellow.

A basic deception attack, after doing the hand seal and slamming their hand on the ground. The ground ahead of the user and up to mid-range begins to shake slightly, which will not hurt the balance but its what happens. Chunks of rocks will pop out very quickly. This is meant to shock or decieve the opponent in thinking its an attack where it really does not, so the opponent will react and go on the defensive or change their stance. You can quickly attack right after you slam your hand on the ground making it a nice jutsu for combo. You can also flee the area if needed in the NW.

(Doton: Kengan no Jutsu) - Earth Release: Fist Rock Technique

Description: After performing the snake → Seal of Confrontation and then by encasing their arm in rock, the user can deal a powerful hardened punch against an opponent while being protected from direct contact with their target. If necessary, the weight of the rock can be increased to further increase the punch's destructive power through the Earth Release: Added Weight Technique or the Earth Release: Super Added Weight Technique.

Okay the user will send doton chakra through his arm encasing it with pure rock. With it the opponent is able to block techniques as well as deliver hard punches. Great for short range battle and simple to use, its purpose is simple as well. It has two hand seals. Your speed on the arm though is slowed down due to the extra weight. Also when you progress through doton you will be able to learn to specific techniques which can increase your weight and have a more destructive punch.

(Doton: Ton'neru chika no Jutsu) - Earth Release: Tunneling Technique

Description: The user after performing the required hand seals Ram → Dog → Rat →B ird is able to create a wide tunnel in the ground, this cannot travel through rock though or anything with a high density. The large tunnel that is created allows the user to transport others without detection.
Note: The initial entry of the technique is short range.

The user will perform 4 hand seals and create a hole on the ground which is a tunnel that can run long range. It can't though travel through high density rocks or material. So using it in mountain type terrains would be impossible. Using it on soil or a field is best. Now you can move through this tunnel but its not like hiding like a mole. You will not sense anything going on from above through a magnetic wave. You can though send the tunnel towards any area on the field. Its good to send clones or small summons through to set up a combo attack.

Okay so my method is somewhat similar to Noni's. I simply ask that you perform the technique and just give a detailed look through it. I personally don't believe in cut and dry advantages and disadvantages. Everything (almost everything at least) has some usage. And since you're used to going more than 1 technique per post and have well...experience lol...I'll probably keep up with Noni's set pace since Earth Release is quite long ,_,.

Anyways, with that said, do what I asked with the three techniques Noni posted in the post before this one. Be detailed - especially with the analysis of your thoughts and the technique.

Hei preforms a single handseal focusing chakra into his hand and proceeds to slam it to the ground. This causes the earth up to a mid-ranged area to "turn over."
This technique like most can be useful when used in the right way. Having two main uses as stated, being able to destroy an enemies earth technique so long as it has an equal rank or below. It also can cause an opponents ankles to be jagged, throwing them off balance and distract them, leaving the user to attack or flee. This however should not be used lightly as it can also leave the user open for attack depending on the situation in which it is used

Hei makes 2 handseals focusing his chakra and encasing his right arm in earth, Hei then proceeds to deal a powerful punch to a near by tree causing it to break and fall over.
One of my favorite techniques, I have a custom similar to it. Very useful in close combat, dealing extra damage when combined with Taijutsu. It's power can also be increased with the use of "Earth Release: Added Weight Technique" or "Earth Release: Super Added Weight Technique" as stated.

Hei focuses his chakra into the ground while making a set of 4 handseals, this creates an opening in the ground that st reaches out to long range.
A unique and difficult jutsu to use during battle, it's not as useful as other evading techniques. Most useful would be having clones sneak though it while an opponent is detracted or sending an attack though the tunnel unseen by an opponent.
