Kunai/senbon shower was evaded by Chiyo and Sakura whereas Neji couldn't evade the Juubi spike shower so I'm not sure where you got this conclusion from. Regardless, he still managed to rotate albeit with difficulty.

Yea bro , neji can actually win this low/mid diff jus look at my above posts which all the people who were yappin about gaara wins failed to counter.
-Neji can use jyuken to destroy the chakra in gaara's gourd sand , the only sand he uses at the time , making it slower and softer without gaara even knowing.
This effectively stops gaara from using sand dome and makes his auto-sand slow and soft , neji who showed speed on par with KNO Naruto and has same speed stats as sasuke/lee in the databooks would kill gaara the first chance he gets.

Alternate scenario neji senses the attack with byakugan , uses chakra shield then proceeds to sabotage the sands chakra with jyuken making it soft and slow.
I like ur ignoring the fact that gaara doesn't use sand at the start , gaara gets stomped without it.

The original post was clear. I never talked about gaara grabbing him I talked about him going to the dome to try and hit it. He gets impaled when he tries to attack the sand dome.

We also have feats of neji avoiding rainin amounts of kunai , spiders , and chakra webs comin in bulks from all sides and point blank in ur face range , avoidin each only a hairs width from the other no diff and was only caught because of his blindspot.

Gaara's spears are linear and each ejecting portion will be seen/sensed by neji's byakugan , he easily avoids the spears then lands a gentle palm packed with chakra to effectively destroy the chalra in that portion of sand making it soft/weak , if gaara counters with more spikes neji counters with chakra shield then simply remanoeuvres and continues to sabotage gaaras sand , always keeping tabs on the attackin sand with byakugan while he continues to work his magic evading and destroying the chakra in the sand.
Neji low diff gaara w/o /sand dome and mid diff if he uses it at the start like your scenario.
Not to mention that neji can most likely blitz the sand before it hardens if gaara opts to use it immediately , given the starting distance of the CE matches along with neji's byakugan giving him insight of wat gaara's plan is .
That along with neji's speed begin on par with CE KNO naruto and he wins this.

Sasuke was at a much greater starting distance than the customary startin distance in the CE , which was was my point since u claimed sand dome gg .

I was about to address that since I wondered wat u meant.
It means once neji sees sand beginning to surround gaara along with gaara's chakra activity increase beforehand then he easily gets insight on wat gaaras plan is and with the starting distance neji covers that distance since the fight starts at about 6m or less.
