Now, it's my opinion that Hiruzen was retconned and was originally supposed to be the strongest Hokage. Kabuto said he was the strongest Kage and that people referred to him as "The Professor" because he had mastered just about all, if not all, techniques in the Leaf. When the series kept going on and on and Kishi was needing bigger and badder villains, all of a sudden Hashirama and Madara became pseudo-deities even though in part 1 they fought on par with an old Hiruzen. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't remember anyone saying part 1 edo tensei was incomplete.

Even though we know for a fact that Hiruzen could never solo Hashirama or Madara, it's debatable for Tobirama since we don't have much to compare the two by. But if Hiruzen was the professor who mastered the techniques of the Leaf, and the eight inner gates was a technique of the Leaf, is there any reason that Hiruzen wouldn't be able to master the eight gates as well? And if he had, could that have possibly made him as strong as he was as hyped to be?

Oh boy, you played with lighting.

O.T: I think they ended him quick because he technically has no limits as a reanimated Kage.

Re:

It all comes down to this: Haters of Hiruzen hastily and haughtily harass a hero’s hype as hearsay. How heralds holdfast to the hypothesis that other Hokages are higher than Hiruzen is hoopla. Hashirama’s Hickory. Hiraishin. Hyakugou. HAHA! Hiruzen howls in hysteria for his hype is historically Herculean. The hype is held as a hypothetical hoax by horrid hoodlums, and hate hitherto his hype is heeded hand in hand with hypocrisy. Hiruzen’s humane heart is hurt heavily by these harsh haters. All hail the humble, honorable, hierarch and Hokage, Hiruzen.

Lol it kinda feels that way. Hiruzen was my favorite as a kid cause I thought he looked the coolest, and it just kinda stayed that way over the years. And I could see that, the dude who mastered everything suddenly has unlimited chakra. That could go a long way lol

Hiruzen was the strongest kage of his era as stated by Kabuto and Oro.

Which included the beast Third Raikage Mind you.

Oro said if he was at least 10yrs younger he would lose.

The hype isnt just hype. Its fact. He was insanely strong.

Is 8 inner gates a leaf village originated jutsu? Like I know it was gai's father who learned it but did the jutsu originate from the leaf?

Not to mention he also had Enma as a summon, which Orichimaru desperately wanted to avoid fighting

And I don't know that it originated from the Leaf, but we've only seen Leaf shinobi using it and it was a technique in the Leaf

Orochimaru summoned Hiruzen in his old age when every other Hokage was summoned in their prime forms.

May be he knew that Prime Hiruzen would be too hard to control,SMH.
