If you only have two judges then I volunteer as the 3rd spot.

I've been involved in many rap threads in the past, but due to busy work schedule I couldnt always participate as much as I would have liked. I think if you are going to do this thing as an official tournament we need to lay down some formatting about how the battle will take place, and scoring guidelines. I was thinking that each battle would be broken down into rounds, and each round would consist of one response from each rapper. Totaling 5 rounds per battle and 7-10 rounds at the final battle. I was just thinking that rounds would work better than the "write as much as you can" approach because some people will have more time than others, which gives an unfair advantage. Thats just some ideas to mull over.

some samples for rules:
Blatant plagerization will result in immediate disqualification.
Each rapper has one day to respond (maybe less)
All cursing needs to be censored (F&ck, Sh!t, cr@p, B!tch) in order to comply with the NB Forum rules.
Direct insults are allowed (which is against NB Forum rules) due to the nature of the competition, and all participants wave thier right to report posts that are part of a battle.

Ok this is why I wanted u as judge.. mod experience so u have experience of having ppl follow rules and stuff.. you bring about great suggestions that I have both thought of and not..

Idk about 5 rounds a battle each round.. idk if that's too short.. then again it seems like a good amount.. I think 10 rounds for the final is better..

Maybe we could do 5-first round, 6-quarters, 7-semis and 10 finals..

You have a point about the write as much approach but still each round a person can write like a wall.. this is going to be in a group soo maybe they are limited to a post or 2 each round and finals the limit is 3 posts?

Also I want to give more then a day span.. maybe 2-3 days and the finals 4-5? How does that sound? Because I am keeping in mind of other people availabilties and stuff

Plagiarism and using old material is automatic dq. Agreed and I thought the same thing.. also judges should keep in mind if rappers are countering and using their opponents words against them and using personal attacks.. like example if i battled scary yamato I would rap about how he isn't scary.. these things should indicate a rapper is not copying so judges should keep that in mind and use it to score rappers..

Agreed .. beep your curses and no snitching lol

I'm glad you gave such great inputs man

Im game.......be warned im nice
I didn't think you'd respond but I've hears your good so I had to get you in this.. btw I'm guessing u want to rap and not judge huh? Lol

@bold: Great idea. I was originally thining 10 rounds for the finals but was hesistant to make it that long, but then again I've seen people go back and forth for days in some of these threads so I guess its not bad. I guess poeple could still write long ass responses if they want but they have to keep in mind that they dont want to use the same material over and over. so they could go for avalanch of verbal bombs type of approach but it could leave them with no original content near the end. I guess its up to you if you want to limit how long the responses can be.

as far as the timetable is concerned, again its your call. I'm sure some peoeple are like me and cant log in all the time.
