Honestly, I'm more interested in the possibility of making humans photosynthetic. That's in the realm of science fiction, yes, but imagine the impact something like that would have on world hunger, Lol
But in all seriousness if you want real scientific implacations of immortality look at google for an immortal jellyfish it has a scientific name but I'm to lazy to get it but its pretty much a jellyfish that can revert its cells back to the moment of when it was born so when it gets to old it makes itself young again science isn't exactly 100% sure on how it does this but if we figured out cross speisess genetics we could possibly live a very long time
Note: even though this jellyfish doesn't need to worry about aging it is very low in the food chain so it doesn't always live to long
