For real though, the term "Dr. Snakes" sort of rubbed me the wrong way at first too, mostly because it felt out of place, especially for Itachi in a situation like that. Then I thought back and realized, Itachi actually makes a couple jokes here and there both before and after his death. He just tends to have a really dry sense of humor, with undetectable punchlines, as evidenced by his coining the phrase itself.

So basically I've come to grow ok with it. I don't love it and I don't have to. I find it simply ok. Not gonna lie though, my first thought when I read that was that I must be reading a horribly translated chapter. And I still kinda feel that way.

I thought it was funny when Itachi said it the first time. It seems like Itachi is developing a sense of humor. But when they kept repeating it, it seemed kinda idiotic.

It all's because of Naruto.

First it was Nagato. Now it's Itachi. It's only a matter of time before Tobi or Madara gets the lulz. xd
