This looks similar to Intersection method but instead of a body part, this is basically the whole body. It's simple and straightforward to be honest. The one thing I like though that kinda sets it apart is its ability to render your enemy unconscious for two turns which just opens a lot of doors in a tight fight. Really nice move and something I'd really consider but I'd use it like a trump card in a tight spot. Would be lame to use it off the bat. xD

Edit: The part that says "if successful", it's if your enemy doesn't provide a good counter after right? Seems like a move to use once your enemy is weakened otherwise he'll break through it or something.
Yeah use it on them while they are in a gen and your up close. Best way to do it. If successful pretty much means if you land the combo with the elbow hitting their head (and no armor hindering your attack ect)

Well, that's all the tai, do you have any questions O_O

Well technically there is, EIG, but you need to earn that boy O_< Also NB tai has S ranks. But in general, tai is about precition his and timing with controlled power at the right time. Intersection method breaks a bone in two, it's B rank, that is insane it itself, timing and control alone break a bone, who needs S ranks? xd

Continuing with Earth Release

Sylar looks down to the stone floor and accepts his next task. He then quiets his mind and prepares himself. He channels his chakra throughout his body as he envisions being stone. He imagines his body becoming hard and his color to that of grey. He can feel it...the weight of the stone and then his own body. He felt much tougher but he knew not to overestimate such a technique as he had been taught. The technique was still useful though and as he completed the first part, he took a deep breath and focused on the second part. Once fully concentrated, and turned to stone...partially at least, Sylar opens his eyes to give the tree one last look and then proceeds to close them again. He extends his arms and then breaks himself apart into several rocks, pelting at the tree and then breaking through the trunk. He then reforms himself near it and then takes a glance at Kamishiro which would look intimidating. But of course Hashirama should have seen worse stares in his life so Sylar assumed it was more comical than anything.

You must be registered for see images

"Was that adequate...sensei?"

With a moment of silence between his next reply, it surely would have been...awkward. But nonetheless, Sylar liked being different despite being taught to be like everyone else.

"This technique is pretty straightforward once you've grasped the concept of melding with your environment. This can be interpreted in two ways from the way I see it. You either divide yourself to many rocks or you expel rocks from your body while still being intact. Based on my observation (what I saw in the anime), you can do the former. This is great when deceiving your opponent into thinking you crumbled into many pieces but in fact you can reshape yourself again and continue. Well...that's only my assumption.

You can't overestimate the parent technique even if you do take on it's properties which is coincidentally is its weakness as well. One can become as hard as stone or sturdy like wood but you are still susceptible to the vulnerabilities of it, that being lightning in these two cases. One thing it can do though is being able to attack several opponents at a time or just one. I believe that because it can shoot forward from many angles becuase it is part of the user meaning he can control it with his chakra. It is oneself after all. You obviously can't propel these rocks very far as you are busy maintaining yourself rather than the rocks.

At the moment, that is all I can conjecture based on what I learned on its parent technique."

Brilliant. Due to the effort you put into tai and our different time zones i'm going to be doing 5 jutsu at a time. You will breka down the jutsu, say how they work, good, bad, how you use it, and any questions as before. Afterwords i'll give my input and go on to the next jutsu as long as you understand clearly:

(Doton: Retsudo Tenshin) - Earth Release: Violent Heavenly Earth Needle
Rank: C
Type: Offensive
Range: Short
Chakra cost: 15
Damage point: 30
Description: The user after after using earth release: earth flow wave, will perform the snake hand seal and then will create a large needle out of it to impale the opponent.
Note: Must use Earth Release: Earth Flow Wave before hand

(Doton: Dāchiganshō) - Earth Release: Ground Bedrock
Rank: C
Type: Offensive, Supplementary
Range: Short-Mid
Chakra cost: 15
Damage points: 30

This technique creates a simple dust screen that will fade away after 3 turns.

Couldn't find a link to this one but it's pretty straight forwards

(Doton: Retsudo Tenshin) - Earth Release: Violent Heavenly Earth Needle

Watching the episode, this one is quite an interesting technique to use with its parent technique, Earth Flow Wave. If your enemy is subdued, this allows you to do a quick strike using earth. Basically you ride the earth you previously created, then use that very earth to extend into a needle-like protrusion which can pierce an enemy especially if they are caught off guard. Sekiei was quite tactful when using it as he had used an earth clone to restrain Neji beforehand but even before that he was able to take advantage of the situation by distracting him to move towards one way. This actually gives me ideas to use in battle. Not particularly great but its a great stepping stone towards combos. Disadvantage is it appeared to move quite slow in the anime. Don't know if that was plot or it was the way most earth techniques work. So despite its potential lethality, it's slow. Not terribly but still slow.

Edit: Looks like it moves quite fast. Nevermind. Very good jutsu to use with Earth Flow Wave. :)

(Doton: Dāchiganshō) - Earth Release: Ground Bedrock

Now this...this is something nice. I like how in the anime, this traps Kosuke in a small space by creating to slaps of earth to block his way forward and backward. I would assume that our rp allows us to use it side to side as well but I like the anime's adaption better. This would block their vision allowing me to perform a nice combo like dropping lid and sixteen pillar bind (in no particular order) or even dropping lid and swamp of the underworld. Lot's of potential especially if you can find a stronger version of it or through clever cj. Overall, I'll definitely be using this as a feint as its too good not to use. Disadvantage seems to be its low rank and how op ninjas in our rp can pulverize it but thats only if you don't use tact with it.

(Doton: Hokoriheki no Jutsu ) - Earth Release: Dust Wall Technique

This seems similar to technique that Temari does:

(Fūton: Fūsajin no Jutsu) _ Wind Release: Dust Wind Technique

Temari uses her Giant Folding Fan to generate a gust of wind that layers the surrounding area in a blast of sand. This layer of sand that accumulates on the nearby trees makes it difficult for others to get a good footing. The initial gust can also temporarily blind opponents by lodging sand in their eyes.
Applied similarily, you can create a dust cloud using a hand motion or weapon by directing your chakra to/through it. This is pretty handy in two ways:

1. You can pretty much use any weapon to create the dust wall which, if used tactfully, can prove to help turn the tide in battle.
2. You can direct this dust forwards offensively, which if combined with other jutsu, can be used as a set up to hinder your opponents vision or attention.

Overall, pretty neat trick and doesn't require that much effort. With it lasting for three turns, just makes it more valuable.

#orochimarusneaky

(Doton: Rokkuhanmā) - Earth Release: Rock Hammer

Good ol' Ōnoki. z.z

This attack is pretty straight forward. Take a chunk of rock out, make it levitate, then drop down on the opponent. Correct? Hmm...seems to be a waste of time in my own opinion unless your opponent is slow. I have a rule of thumb that most ninja are faster than that (they're not like in NUNS unfortunately T_T). Hard to think of any combos for this unless you like earth a lot. >_>

Don't like it tbh.

Edit: Reviewed Ōnoki's moveset from the game and while its slow to create, the hammer is quite big and can really crush an opponent. Handy but still not using it unless I can think of a combo to use it with. z.z

#shortnsweet

(Doton: Iwa Dangan) - Earth Release: Rock Bullet

Earth always seems to be weird for me when using offensively. I'm used to seeing it only as a defense. This is quite useful though as the right timing can help give you an edge. Given it's range, it just makes it more valuable in my arsenal. Lol I so want to shoot this to the back of someone's head. Hue hue hue

Anyways, you point your palm or fist then create a rock which you manipulate to launch itself towards your target. It's nice technique to use from a vantage point and more so to get your enemy's attention. Handy indeed for us sneaky bastards. The speed of creating the rock is concerning though but it shouldn't matter really as long as you time it correctly.

Edit: Oh yeah. Ōnoki uses this in the game. Its a rather large rock tbh and one that can launch your enemy in the air forward (not like in the sky but a little above ground. PERFECT set up for another technique like Swamp or Antlion technique or even spikes coming towards him. Good, good. Will keep this in mind next time. <3

#deception

(Doton: Jōshō Iwa) - Earth Release: Rising Rocks

Very good setup especially for all those techniques which work better while your are airborne. Not much to say other than you create "pincers" that work like an over-glorified earth technique (D-Rank one). I can see myself using this as he gets near me then use something to catch him while he is in midair like that cat summoning that Ibiki uses. Add some fuuin and viola! Battle over! Muahahaha!

Using it short range is a better usage though as it can catch an enemy off guard IMO. .-.

I was right to do so many at once, you really put the effort in :)

(Doton: Retsudo Tenshin) - Earth Release: Violent Heavenly Earth Needle - personally i'm not a fan of jutsu that rely on specific combos, like using earth flow wave in this case. People tend to counter the first jutsu before you can pull off the combo. Though you can always use combos to force your opponent into the situation you want. I'll teach you this in advanced battle training when we finish your basics

(Doton: Dāchiganshō) - Earth Release: Ground Bedrock - This is all about the combo due to the rank. If you can pull this off with the pillars of fire that shoot up from below, you've got a nice little trap. Use this when people try to hurricane fist out of swamp, so many ways of just trapping them. Not having to rely purely on strength alone.

Doton: Hokoriheki no Jutsu ) - Earth Release: Dust Wall Technique - distaction and counter to doujutsu to the max xd

( Doton: Rokkuhanmā ) - Earth Release: Rock Hammer - shame it's short range but it reminds me of old school cartoons, just use if for funny rp xd

( Doton: Iwa Dangan ) - Earth Release: Rock Bullet - an earth projectile, what more can i say, the mud part of it's pretty good though xd

Doton: Jōshō Iwa ) - Earth Release: Rising Rocks - use this to interupt and summoning, they go to slam down you hit them up before thye finish xd

Anyway, nice work, next are:

( Doton: Gizagiza no Iwajin ) - Earth Release: Jagged Rock Formation
Rank: C
Type: Offensive, Supplementary
Range: Short – Mid
Chakra cost: 15
Damage points: 30
Description: The user will manipulate their chakra and stomps the ground. By doing so, he causes small fractures to rip through the ground, which will then force fragments of earth and rock to rise up from the ground like protruding rock formations to then deal blunt force damage to the opponent and can raise them up into the air.

( Doton: Renga no Jutsu ) Earth Release: Practice Brick Technique
Type: Defensive
Rank: C
Range: Short - Long
Chakra: 15
Damage: N/A
Description: The user creates a solid wall of earth as a form of defence, manipulating a pre-existing ground to form the wall. The earth then instantly rises up and takes form. Though weak, the walls can serve as a makeshift blockade when formed by several users, slowing down large, powerful attacks. This technique is apparently extremely simple and basic among Earth Release techniques, and can thus be easily taught to and used by non-primary Earth Release users.

Then:

B rank

(Doton: Retsudo Tenshō) - Earth Release: Tearing Earth Turning Palm
Rank: B-Rank
Type: Offense
Range: Short/Long
Chakra Cost: 20
Damage Points: 40
Description: After performing the required hand seals Boar → Ox → placing hand on the ground, the user causes the ground surrounding the enemy to spiral inwards on itself, burying them alive or crushing them in a mayhem of jagged rocks. This technique is capable of causing quite a bit of damage to a large area. This technique is much more damaging if used in rocky mountainous areas, or inside a cave.

(Doton: Furaito no Jutsu) - Earth Release: Flight Technique
Rank: B
Type: Supplementary
Range: Short - Long
Chakra cost: 20 (-5 per turn to maintain)
Damage points: N/A
Description: This technique grants the user the ability to fly by lightening his weight severely through the use of Earth Release and using his chakra to move around in the air at high speeds with ease. Onoki showed that its also possible to transfer this technique to others through physical contact with them for an unspecified amount of time.
Note: Can only be used by the first Tsuchikage, Onoki and Mu bios

( Doton: Dosekidake no Jutsu ) - Earth Release: Earth and Stone Bamboo Shoot Technique
Rank: B
Type: Offensive
Range: Short - Mid
Chakra cost: 20
Damage points: 40
Description: The user of this technique condenses the soil and rock in the area to sprout out in the form of four large spikes which attack the target from four separate directions to make it harder to evade. However, it can be easilty avoided by escaping upwards.

While I couldn't particularly find this one, based on what I saw in the game, it's consistent with how Onoki uses earth. In this instance, the user releases chakra to the ground after stomping on the ground. This causes small slabs of earth to rise up and somehow push the enemy back as well as launch them in the air. Good setup but I would like it more as a short range technique as it can help you with performing shadow of the dancing leaf and other techniques that require you to be airborne. Omg use moving earth core afterwards then something like that water jutsu that appears like 10 meters above them. Ofc many combinations so overall, very useful. ^^

(Doton: Renga no Jutsu) Earth Release: Practice Brick Technique

This is an iffy jutsu for me. I mean I get how it's made and works as the manga/anime explained it a bit during the war but the thing its supposed to be a weak jutsu that can divert techniques but not large scale ones we use especially bijuudama. Not to mention, that it only works well when done by several users so as one...not really worth it imo. I'm sure I'll use it one time but it really doesn't offer much for my tastes.

Aside from that, Shikamaru was on the money on using earth release to divert the enemy's attack. I wasn't so much to divert the attacks but to increase morality by allowing people to do something together. This was crucial at the time considering they were beginning to doubt themselves but thanks to Sakura, Shikamaru picked up on her speech about them being considered by Naruto to be friends, companions. The fact that even non specialists can perform this easy jutsu makes it easier to understand as well as perform it.

(Doton: Retsudo Tenshō) - Earth Release: Tearing Earth Turning Palm

We're not given much information on it but what made it more dangerous was that it was used by several shinobi to try to catch Kakashi and Rin in the attack. They made the required handseals and then slammed their hand on the ground, causing the earth to split open and begin crumbling. What made it look dangerous was its effect on the terrain that Kakashi and co. had left behind from the collapsed cave. This buried Obito more as the rocks were moved so yes using it on rocky mountainous areas or inside a cave can cause more damage.

(Doton: Furaito no Jutsu) - Earth Release: Flight Technique

Am I supposed to learn this? xD

Based on how Onoki uses his jutsu, this one seems to be a variation of his lightweight technique. I find his application amazing. He uses it throughout most time we see him and his strength isn't compromised from it nor his speed. I mean look what he did to that boulder that Madara summoned? Nothing much to add other than speculation on how it's achieved and how it conflicts with our perception of physics. That and a bunch of theories which will never get answered. What's even more interesting is that you are not anymore susceptible to lightning techniques as you were without it which is conflicting considering naturally earth is weak to lightning.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

(Doton: Dosekidake no Jutsu) - Earth Release: Earth and Stone Bamboo Shoot Technique

It's pretty simple even for a B-Rank but can be really useful. Donga (or wtv his name was) used this against Fuguki, hoping to pin him down. Of course it didn't work but as you probably already know, even if it doesn't work, it still pushes your enemy to perform a specific action - jump in the air. This gives you a distinct advantage if you're crafty. As with the majority of NB, I will definitely be using this. Hmm...for some reason I found a good cj version of this that would work. :3

(Doton: Renga no Jutsu) Earth Release: Practice Brick Technique - treat this as a basic defense. Or distraction. Stop thinking so direct. Ok it's weak but what does it do that's an advantage? Blocks their vision? Say they use a big fire blast on you, this a is a fast jutsu, looks like you're trying to defense and blocks their vision of you. Then you take this chance to go underground or what ever you want, hide or come back with a counter they don't expect from behind the wall. I always used to do shit like this, go underground, come out behind them as jiraiya, use his toad shadow control jutsu and make them cut their own throats o_<

(Doton: Retsudo Tenshō) - Earth Release: Tearing Earth Turning Palm - great jutsu, so many combinations, it's from under them so they can't send it back at you. Combine it with swamp, drop water on them, or just use this to force them into the air so you can do your tai combos. Just a great distraction. I use this in some situations with specific terrain, like valley of the end, they are on madara's head, spirals in and falls and they go down into the valley xd

(Doton: Iwa Bunshin) - Earth Release: Rock Clone Technique

These clones are weird though that's probably because I've never used them before nor am I an earth lover like when I started. Well its like the shadow clone technique with some variations such as only using earth techniques and resisting taijutsu up to a certain rank. The description says it doesn't disappear but rather crumbles to dirt. My questions for this technique are 1.) after they crumble, do they reform? 2.) Is it only able to use earth techniques?

Good technique since it can copy any other appearances.

(Doton: Iwa no Hogo) - Earth Release: Earth Shelter Technique

This was used multiple times throughout the war and is similar in appearance to Yamatos wood locking wall. It creates a dome that protects those in it. The user has the choice of creating an opening to be able to see outside it or completely cover themselves. It's more useful as a half dome to be honest as covering yourself completely can hinder your escape options as well as your senses like sight and hearing unless you are a sensor in which case you can do the whole dome. Its a good technique and I've always been a fan of defensive techniques. With a technique like this, you can create a earth clone or regular clone to take your place as you travel underground for a surprise attack or something similar. I wish it could alter the terrain though as you can use that to your advantage but don't really matter as long as it does what it is meant for, defense.

(Doton: Iwa Enchou no Jutsu) - Earth Release: Earth Dome Technique

oh dear...this was lumped together with the one before on wiki. While the first one is a complete dome (I am sure this was the one used in the battle with Kankuro vs Sasori & Deidara) that can be manipulated to have openings to see, this one is the actual one that is similar to wood locking wall. Both have their use in battle. The first one defends from attacks that keep traveling forward or can be altered to attack from all sides while the second one is more for jutsu aimed straight at the user like ninja tools or those that earth can defend from at this rank. I'd still rather use this half one though for the reasons stated in the previous reply.

(Doton: Fukusuu no Dorosandan) - Earth Release: Multiple Mudshot Technique

lol this was used against me yesterday in a spar. xD

As a mud technique, it's meant more of a sticky trap than an offensive technique. This is a good technique to cover several angles or if you know where you are aiming at, then aim at specific spots but not sure if thats within the scope of the technique.

This one is iffy because Gozu uses it from his mud body and fires what looks like thousands of mud bullets that hit Shino's kikaichu, knocking them out. But what makes this iffy is Kakashi was unaffected by it and he was right in front of Gozu. So my guess was correct in that it's not meant to hurt anyone but rather just to incapacitate an opponent. Or is it because he spread out the damage of the mudshots causing Kakashi to be unaffected? Regardless, it's a technique I'd rather combine with a fire technique especially one that fire multiple fireballs. Can you decide how many mud bullets to shoot or is there a given amount?

(Doton: Dōka Ganseki Sensha) - Earth Release: Assimilated Rock Tank

AKIMICHI!!!!

I love this one already. :3

Pretty straightforward technique to use. You use the assimilate all creation technique beforehand then you take on the properties of rock/stone and transform into a giant rolling rock that is similar to the Akimichi's Bullet Tank technique though much more powerful as the material is much denser. The drawback is that you are vulnerable to its weaknesses as well such as lightning techniques and explosives as seen in the manga. The material that Nagare used was enough to be able to easily break Kakashi's kunai. Pretty good technique and now I have a great idea against an opponent of mine. Hue hue hue.

(Doton: Doryūha) - Earth Release: Earth Flow Wave

Ah this one...seen it used before by someone in the rp and was qouted for using it wrong. Anyways, by the way I saw it used in the anime, you maintain the technique meaning you can't use other techniques while using this. Sekiei was quite intelligent in using this against Neji and if Hiashi hadn't interjected, he'd be dead for sure. You manipulate the earth to act as a platform to give you distance between your target and allow you to gain advantage through elevation. Seikiei was able to use techniques from atop this but the earth he manipulated stopped. I see this as something like puddy. It can take whatever shape you want but once you stop fiddling with it, it will retain its last shape. This was evident as when he was speaking to Neji, he wasn't holding the handsign he was doing and the earth wasn't moving. The earth didn't crumble after either so the way you affected the terrain remains the same. It only crumbled after he used the earth for that needle attack we learned earlier. So, in your opinion, is it safe to use the elevation advantage for another attack outside of earth release? Like launching something from it or something?

(Doton: Iwa Bunshin) - Earth Release: Rock Clone Technique - No they don't reform and they can use earth release and taijutus. This is the same for all elemental clones unless stated otherwise :) Simple to the point, can be useful but i've never used them.

(Doton: Iwa no Hogo) - Earth Release: Earth Shelter Technique - Now you're starting to get it, it's not all about single defense it's about what you can do after, and your example was perfect. Beware of sensors. It can also be good to set up other stuff, i use this, make an opening and try and enter sage mode, or do a summon, release the hidden mist, just general basic defense too is alright

(Doton: Iwa Enchou no Jutsu) - Earth Release: Earth Dome Technique - yeah half dome is better just as you aren't so trapped

(Doton: Fukusuu no Dorosandan) - Earth Release: Multiple Mudshot Technique - Here is a general insight into all projectile based jutsu. The more you make with a single use, the weaker they are. So you make 1, it's B rank, 2-3 can still be B rank in some cases, but as you break it down it gets weaker by half each time as the chakra you put into it is spread. So your example i can't recall to be honest but i'll assume so many shots made them weaker, that and Main character no jutsu, combined with kakashi maybe avoiding with his sharingan? You know how it goes. But yeah the more you make the weaker they are.

(Doton: Dōka Ganseki Sensha) - Earth Release: Assimilated Rock Tank - no matter what you use, it's always going to have a weakness. I focus on fire, my weakness is water, but i don't let that hold me back, i learn jutsu i can use to get me ready to counter it you know? So in this case you find your own personal way to counter dat lightning. But yeah, it's a great technique, shout "paruuuuu" or w.e Chouji says when he uses his akimichi version as a genin xd

(Doton: Doryūha) - Earth Release: Earth Flow Wave - Personally i believe it's a very versatile jutsu and to use a technique from above while on it is fine. I'd use it to my advantage to be honest. Get the wave of earth up as your above it, release it saying you let it fall, then release wind from above. You have a two element combo, wind and earth, they can't use lightning to break the earth and the earth should neutrilize the weakness to fire. You're then attacking from above that limits their escape

(Doton: Doro Ookami) - Earth Release: Mud Wolves
Rank: B
Type: Offensive, Supplementary
Range: Short
Chakra cost: 20 (+10 per reformed wolf)
Damage points: 10 damage per wolf attack
Description: A trap technique in which the user will place somewhere and is activated upon contact with the opponent's chakra. The user uses a scroll to lay the trap in which releases mud that forms into the shape of wolves that will attack the enemy target/s. Despite being damaged the wolves can reform which can keep the enemy occupied to allow the enemy make a getaway. (Can only create a maximum of 3 mud wolves)
Note: Takes one turn to set the trap up and wolves only last two turns

(Doton no Yoroi) - Earth Release Armor
Rank: B
Type: Defensive
Range: Short
Chakra cost: 20 (-15 per turn to remain active)
Damage points: N/A (+10 to taijutsu moves)
Description: This Technique coats the users body with stones, making them much more resistant to attacks, at the cost of their speed. Whilst using this technique, the user can even change their appearance, but once the technique is either defeated or worn off the users original appearance is shown. The user whilst in this armor is resistant to B rank ninjutsu techniques but is vulnerable to Lightning Techniques.

B rank

This is a rather interesting technique used by Sekiei. Although we didn't actually see (or rather I) how he set it up, the effects are very cool as a trap. The way I assume it works based on observation, once you set it up, it creates mud or uses existing mud in the area to camouflage the technique/scroll. This allows it to go undetected by non-sensory type shinobi (i.e. Byakugan, Inuzuka). Based on what Kiba mentioned, the chakra spreads throughout the area and upon contact by the enemy, it creates these mud wolves that then attack the foreign chakra that came in contact with it. Of course unlike the anime where there were litterally dozens of these wolves, our rp limited to three at any one time but comes at a cost of chakra. I like this but I am not keen on using traps in general though this one could have its use with the right strategy especially if you take into account that it gives off your chakra. Could use it as both a lure and distraction. The drawback of using traps in this rp is the fact people know you are making the traps especially in these one on one battles. Works good if you're smart and use it on a landmark when in a village or in general in the NW.

Pretty straightforward since it resembles the Assimilated Earth technique we learned earlier. You basically release your chakra from yourself to form into rock. This is versatile because it can both act as one time technique or you can make it last as long as you have the chakra to fuel it or is canceled (voluntarily or involuntarily). I wonder though, what does resistant mean in this technique? Does it mean you receive no damage or something else? Also, while its protective abilities are great, the downside is the loss in speed. But if you are smart with it, you don't have to move much as your opponent will usually always attack you one way or another. The second big question I have is the speed of it. How fast can it be made? This is important to me because I want to know how it will work in combos with taijutsu. By the way, the boost to taijutsu is sweet. :3

lol

The anime/manga explained this well. You cause the earth to rise up and then form a dome around and over the target. Using your chakra to maintain it may seem unnecessary at first but the fact it also drains chakra as well helps cover the costs and them some. This cycle is able to repair any damage the dome incurs from the target trying to escape. If I remember correctly, the oxygen inside becomes thinner and thinner which should eventually knock out the user if not kill him but that's based on my speculation from what I saw in the anime. The strong point of the dome is the side the user is placing his hands on while the opposite end is the weakpoint which the target can exploit. However, the team was only able to know its weakpoint by using Neji's Byakugan which makes me think that unless you have some form of chakra perception (Sensory or Doujutsu), there is no real way to find out unless you either metagame your way out of it or use a long, drawn out analysis from observation. Regardless though, what strikes me as interesting is Jirobos ability to drain chakra using an earth technique. Don't know if its limited to him or just this specific technique. Too bad you have to be Jirobo to use doe. xD

(Doton: Domu) – Earth Release: Earth Spear Technique

So...the other one formed rocks on you and this one...makes your skin stronger? Very similar in its application but I assume this version is much faster and less restrictive, correct?

So after watching the episode, there is not much to go on but considering Kakuzu bios can use without handseals makes it more deadly in the right hands. It looks to be quite fast in its application which already makes it more ideal than the rock technique we learned earlier. I think that you have to weigh your options when using either if your not Kakuzu. While the rock technique can be made without handseals, it still drains chakra if you plan to maintain it and you lose speed. The earth spear requires a handseal but only works once I assume considering it only drains chakra once. The first one I mentioned should be used when doing it in conjunction with taijutsu and the second one would be more useful when defending from techniques. Regardless, they are both weak to lightning which the user needs to take into account. Both are good earth techniques but I would like to hear what experiences you had with the earth spear. Or more specifically, how fast is it and if I am right that it can only be used once (meaning if it can be maintained or not).

(Doton: Iwa Keiro) – Earth Style: Rock Trail
Rank: B
Type: Attack
Range: Mid
Chakra cost: 20

Description: The user slams their hands on the ground and giant rocks rise up and jag the opponent from underneath.
Another straighforward technique. Only usable in mid-range, this technique allows you to create jagged rocks that rise up to skewer your target if he falls on top of it. The faster the target falls on it the deadlier it becomes. Best to use in combination with a technique that makes your opponent airborne and we know there are plenty of those. Once airborne, you just have to send them crashing down. I am not sure but this may be one that Oonoki uses in the game in which he creates the rocks short range of himself that start of small and then build up into larger rocks until it reaches mid range. Regardless, it is a nice technique especially as a set up as it forces your enemy to move unless he wants to get hit.

(Doton: Nentsuchi Otoshi) – Earth Release: Sticky Earth Drop
Rank: B
Type: Offensive
Range: Short – Mid

It’s normally followed up by Lightning release: sixteen pillar bind to create a giant oven around the opponent and then using Fire release: Firing biscuit technique to ignite the oven, hardening the mud and immobilizing the enemy target.
One of NB's famous techniques. It's an effetive technique if you have a strategy in mind aside from the combo we are given which was based on what the ANBU did. This attack from above pressures your enemy to to counter it which you could then follow up with a good fire technique that comes from the ground. Aside from that, it is made of sticky mud which also is surprisingly heavy. This is a good way to stop your opponent or at least slow him down. It's tricky to combat this as lightning would neutralize the earth chakra but wouldn't it still be sticky mud or would the lightning make it clay. Or is that fire that makes it clay only? You could use water to dissipate it but considering it is coming from above, the best solution would be to use a defensive technique like a dome right?I assume this technique was developed for disabling summons as they are quite large and most move slower or no? xD

Note: Can only be used by Jirobo

Rank: B
Type: Supplementary
Range: Short
Chakra cost: 20
Damage points: N/A (+10 to physical attacks)
Description: After performing the Snake hand seal the user will channel their chakra throughout their entire body, which then hardens their skin to a steel-like quality. This increases their defensive power to the utmost limits. The user’s skin also becomes much darker, an almost black colour. The destructive power of physical attacks is increased, making this a great, all purpose technique. But this technique when activated leaves the user vulnerable to lightning based techniques.
Note: Kakuzu bios can use this technique without the need for handseals

Damage points: 40

Chakra cost: 20
Damage points: 40
Description: The user does 2 handseals (Ram → Snake) and creates an opening within the sky, which drips down onto the opponent a large amount of sticky mud (in all similar to that of Swamp of the Underworld Technique), covering them. The mud is very heavy and thick as well as adhesive, making it impossible to move if caught and easily crushing an enemy underneath.
You could use water to dissipate it but considering it is coming from above, the best solution would be to use a defensive technique like a dome right?I assume this technique was developed for disabling summons as they are quite large and most move slower or no? xD
First: You will become skilled enough to make them forget about the trap you set or push them into the trap. For example, you've made this trap on a location, of course they will avoid it, so you, force them to that spot, destroy the ground behind them, run backwards make distractions on either side. Remember, rp is almost like a game of chess, you don't win with just force, you need a plan.

Second: Resistance is simple, it's B rank armor, so if you're hit by B rank wind, it will block it and cancel it out, then follow suit for all elemental interactions. It's not a super fast jutsu to be honest. Better off with the S rank armor we will learn later. You're carrying weight and bulk of all the rocks which slows you, use your imagination on this one, i'm sure you're seen stuff like this in other anime xd We will be learning the light weight jutsu soon, which could counter the loss of speed from this though.

Third: My bad didn't see the note

Fourth: One handseal, get hard O_< but yeah this is instant and you're skin goes dark, watch kakuzu vs team Asuma for this one. How i use it is basic defense. I don't rely on it, due to it allowing for a vulnerability. Use this to fake taking a hit, that way you can set up your own little traps

Fifth: Lightning would neutralise the chakra in it but it would remain as mud. Fire would make it dry out/molten rock. Best bet is to avoid or blast away with wind. Use a wind to push the mud onto them. That way you have a earth/wind combo. As for summon,s don't let them summon in the first place O_<

(Doton: Otoshibuta) – Earth Release: Dropping Lid
Rank: B
Type: Offensive
Range: Short-Long
Chakra cost: 20
Damage points: 40
Description: After doing the Snake handseal and slamming his hands on the ground, he user creates a portal above the target, high in the sky from which a giant, boar-shaped, earthen lid drops and falls on the target, trapping it underneath. The lid can be hollow or solid, depending on if the user wants to deal damage to the enemy or not. Because of its size, to safely used, the lid has to be created at least mid range from the user otherwise he will also be caught inside. The biggest lid can dwarf a boss summon like Nagato's Dog or Gamabunta.

(Doton Kage Bunshin) – Earth Release Shadow Clone
Rank: B
Type: Supplementary
Range: Short
Chakra cost: 20
Damage points: N/A
Description: This technique creates a clone made of mud. Since its made of mud, it can continue to reform and mold itself back to its original shape even after taking physical damage (up to C-Rank). An unique use is that after reverting to mud, it can hold the opponent in place as a binding technique. They can also use up to C rank earth techniques.

(Doton: Musaborudzuchi) – Earth Release: Devouring Earth
Rank: B
Type: Offensive
Range: Short-Long
Chakra cost: 20
Damage points: 40
Description: The user performs the Ram → Horse → Tiger → Rabbit → Snake and slams their palm on the ground. Instantly, the ground to the sides of the opponent take the shape of huge jaws and attempt to crush and stab him between them. The size of the jaws can be adjusted to fit the size of the opponent or other uses.

(Doton: Tsuchi Kairō) - Earth Release: Earth Corridor
Rank: B
Type: Supplementary
Range: Short/Mid
Chakra Cost: 20
Damage Points: N/A
Description: The user will first perform the snake hand seal and then cause the earth in the surrounding area to rise up and over a target and create a cavern, imprisoning the target. The user can leave an opening to allow attacks to go in to strike down the trapped adversaries, or close it up completely to prevent escape.

(Doton: Arijigoku no Jutsu) - Earth Release: Antlion Technique
Rank: B
Type: Offense
Range: Mid/Long
Chakra Cost: 20
Damage Points: 40
Description: The user performs the Ram hand seal and causes causes the ground and everything on and around it to be sucked in towards the middle of a large pit, much like the method an antlion uses to catch prey. Upon being dragged to the centre, the victim will then be sucked underground. There the victim, depending on how deep the user makes them sink, will be trapped and/or suffocated. The range of the pit is determined by how much chakra is put into the technique.

(Doton: Doryū Jōheki) - Earth Release: Earth Flow Rampart
Rank: B
Type: Defence/Supplementary
Range: Short/Mid
Chakra Cost: 20
Damage Points: N/A
Description: By performing the Tiger hand seal the user then makes a gigantic rampart rise up beneath the user's feet, by shaping the ground and increasing the amount of earth with chakra. Depending on what the user imagines, the shape of the rampart can be anything from level ground to a steep, needle-like mountain. If the user increases the volume of earth too much, he can be forced to keep his chakra consumption down. The user can combine this jutsu with Water Style: Waterfall Basin Technique to create a waterfall.

My apologies on the hold up, captain. >_>

(Doton: Otoshibuta) – Earth Release: Dropping Lid

Based on what I observed, this technique is quite massive in that it can contain a large summon if used properly. This becomes clear when the ANBU performed a series of three techniques (this one included) to disable the summon however given the abilities of the multi-headed dog they were unsuccessful. We have it rated as a B-Rank meaning while it is very potent it is only meant as a temporary stalling technique. Perhaps it was meant to be followed with a sealing technique? All in all, how that translates to our rp is that it is a decent maneuver to force a given circumstance. Namely, an attack from above that forces your opponent to think in two ways (logically). One is either disable the technique above you or escape which we know is either outward or below. Fairly easy right? Now when you add what we call a "multi-prong approach", you then limit your opponents options. For example, if I use Dropping Lid and then a mud slide toward the opponent, then his options start to become more clearer because he will either escape outward and away from both your techniques or use a technique or combination of, to counter both.

I don't know if I am rambling at this point but Dropping Lid is more used as a tactic to force a given outcome and allow you to control the battle rather than just containing your opponent. That's not to say the technique isn't strong on its own but considering most people don't really use summons in our rp, then it falls to using it as a tactic to limit your opponents actions.

Sorry if I strayed off point. >_>

(Doton Kage Bunshin) – Earth Release Shadow Clone

Not too shabby on its own but I think the magic really happens when you take advantage of the binding aspect of the clone. What I am curious about is if you can manipulate that aspect of the clone directly or is that only when it breaks down from damage sustained? Reason is, if I remember correctly, Kakashi's lightning clone could dissipate into electricity when damaged enough creating a clever smokescreen for more attacks or simple misdirection. If you can control your clone to bind your target then you could set up another technique with it like fire to harden the mud. IMO, theres' not much else to use it for other than have it there to throw low-rank techniques and throw off your opponent.

(Doton: Musaborudzuchi) – Earth Release: Devouring Earth

Ah yes! The one Hiruko used in the movie. Very strong from the looks of it. The range is generous as is its applications, being able to fit any situation. The big drawback is for non-earth specialists as it requires you to perform 5 handseals though I would consider it trivial in the grand scheme of things though something to watch out for if you decide to use it in battle. I think this technique is more troublesome for your opponents if you use it on mountainous terrain allowing for little escape. Aside from its obvious approach, I think the other way to use this technique is to penetrate through your opponents defense(s), correct? Based on observation though, it seems it attacks from the sides despite rather than like a mouth. If it does then that could be really useful especially if paired with an aerial assault.

(Doton: Tsuchi Kairō) - Earth Release: Earth Corridor

Can't really find the movie and not looking to download it lol xD

But based on the description, the rank, and the range of the technique I can surmise that it is meant to contain your target to a specific area. What makes it convenient is you can allow a certain area of the dome that you are creating to open up and allow a technique to go through or anything at your disposal. The technique itself isn't meant to be used offensively though so I would imagine we must take caution when using it. If we don't pair it up with a good jutsu it would just be a waste in our quick-kill rp. Although if we plan it out ahead of time, the technique itself is valuable in forcing your opponent to act in a certain way like trying to use the opening or destroying the whole dome. It's a nice strategic technique and one I would like to use one day.

Given the scope of the technique, is it correct to assume it develops at a steady pace (forming the dome)? I assume it is a dome based on the picture provided by wikia. :p

(Doton: Arijigoku no Jutsu) - Earth Release: Antlion Technique

NB's version of the quicksand I presume? I watched the eposide and it by the looks of it it begins pulling in towards the user while he waits for them to come closer. However our version seems to be able to be done virtually anywhere on an earthen surface (within reason). I like that I can make it as deep as I like. Hue hue hue.

Based on the schematics for it, you can only use it for mid-long range. So the question is which part of it does the user get dragged into? Mid range or upon reaching mid range is he assumed to dive into short range? If I dont make sense then my apologies x__x

The center appears to be a weakness though I wonder if you can use this technique on yourself to pull them towards you and not suffer damage (aside from what your opponent deals to you)?

(Doton: Doryū Jōheki) - Earth Release: Earth Flow Rampart

As far as I know this technique was only seen during Naruto's Rasenshuriken training. Based on what Adachi mentioned in our water training, the earth structure can be manipulated as we like including a cavern or whatever our imagination dictates. So it can be used creatively with its partner jutsu (Waterfall Basin) or as a standalone technique. I would think this technique be better used to alter the terrain strategically but if there is another usage I'd like to hear it. Nothing much to say about it aside from the fact that it can suit your needs but I wonder which technique is faster to manipulate, this one or the Moving Earth Core one? Also it seems that the bigger the technique the more trouble it will be to break it down despite it being just B-Rank. I feel like I missed something on this one.

Tidbit: I liked watching this episode again and helped remind me about shadow clone usage.

Haha! It actually looks like a dumpling. This technique looks quite heavy even for Jirōbō. For just a B-rank this thing is massive and can quickly level a small area when released. x__x

Using my past training as a guide, I channel my chakra towards my hands. Using my superhuman strength (assuming I am Jirōbō, considering he can only use this technique.), I lift out a chunk of earth of a considerable size. As I lift it, I make sure to stabalize my body with my chakra so as not to get crushed by my own technique. I then throw it with all my might making sure the trajectory is towards the ground and my target. As it travels along its designated path, it levels anything it can flatten. As it reaches my target, I can only assume he will be crushed completely by it.

Instance: Well to be fair, you can only use this technique if you have an approved Jirōbō bio or somehow get an advanced Kabuto. Both of these are unlikely for me to get so...But if I did, this would be a good idea to use against summons or to counter something of a considerable size coming against me like projectiles.

(Doton: Doryuheki) - Earth Release: Earth Style Wall Jutsu

My favorite kakashi jutsu aside from raikiri.

I begin to channel my chakra from throughout my body as I begin to inhale and perform the needed handsigns (Tiger → Hare → Boar → Dog). Then I begin to focus it towards towards my mouth and then as I exhale I release a large quantity of mud the quickly rises up and hardens into a thick wall. The wall is quite large and strong that it is able to withstand a lot of pressure against it.

I then follow similar preparations as I channel my chakra as I perform the Tiger → Hare → Boar → Dog handsigns. I focus my chakra towards my hands and then slam them on the ground. The chakra released into the earth then rises up as a large rock formation in the shape of a closed wall (U shape) that acts as a good defensive measure or as a means to corner an opponent.

Instance: This is a good defensive technique as a wall technique that Hiruzen used. However, I prefer Kakashi's approach. NOt only did his wall serve as a defense, it also served as a way to corner Nagato to prevent him escaping from his attacks. As a strategy, it also pressures your opponent allowing you to better decide an outcome and counter appropriately. So as a rule, I'd always go with Kakashi's usage rather than how Hiruzen would.

(Doton: Iwagakure no Jutsu) - Earth Release: Hiding in Rock Technique

This is similar to several other hiding ninjutsu techniques whos names escape me at the moment.

I channel my chakra throughout my body as I approach my own wall technique I had performed earlier. I then place my hand on the solid rock and using my chakra I focus on the properties of the rock and imitate them, causing me to blend in with the rock. I can understand why it is hard to move about as it feels like squeezing through something thick. The only thing keeping me from getting stuck in there is by using the same principles I learned when performing the hiding like a mole technique.

Instance: I would honestly like to use other techniques especially the ninjutsu one that allows you to blend with virtually anything. But if I were to use this one, I'd say it would be best to use against those techniques that are meant to crush you slowly or even the ones that are forced to collapse on you. Not quite sure at the moment which would be a better situation for it considering it can only be used on rock or solid earth. But considering most people use earth to some degree, it's still an ace in the hole I'll end up using.

Description: The user will stomp the ground to lift of chunks of rock which he will then send at the opponent. Then, by using a fire style technique, he will cause them to ignite into burning rock chunks which explode on contact with the enemy.

We're almost thru B-rank. messing with me i will have you finished with earth within two weeks.

(Doton: Doryūsō) - Earth Release: Earth Flow Spears
Rank: B
Type: Offense
Range: Short/Mid
Chakra Cost: 20
Damage Points: 40
Description: The user first performs the Bird hand seal and the user condense mud or stone, from the ground, and shape them into spikes that will protrude from the ground in order to skewer the target. The spikes cannot penetrate targets of greater density.

(Doton: Iwayado Kuzushi) - Earth Style: Rock Lodging Destruction
Rank: B
Type: Offense
Range: Short/Long
Chakra Cost: 20
Damage Points: 40
Description: The user performs the required hand seals Tiger → Rat → Snake and they then causes a cave-in by destroying the equilibrium that holds the cave together. Just removing a single vital stone throws off the balance of the cave, making it unexpectedly fragile and causing a domino effect that destroys the entire cave. The shinobi from Iwagakure use this technique in their pride tactic, luring several enemies into a cave to kill them all at once.

My main concern is whether you are required to touch the ground for this technique. My better judgement tells me that since you are manipulating existing earth, you are required to touch the earth as you're using your chakra to force the earth out of the ground to protrude as spikes. Correct or nah?

If it's alright, I shall go with earth contact.

I channel my chakra from throughout my body and focus it on the ground below me as I perform the Bird hand seal. I can feel the earth beneath me move as I use a technique I had used earlier when performing a similar technique. I imagine myself forcing parts of the ground below to rise up into spikes. I focus on two aspects as I form them quickly - its density and its piercing ability.

Instance: A good instance for this technique is when your target is airborne. Use this as he is falling down to force him to either stay airborne or counter it with a technique. Good to use on falling summons too. You can also use this to force your opponent to any direction as well which is a good tactic to use when planning certain strategies.

(Doton: Iwayado Kuzushi) - Earth Style: Rock Lodging Destruction

While unorthodox, it gets the job done but how often do you see anyone going into a cave that isn't forced on you like the NW? Just saying lol. xD

While my opponent runs into the cavern (theres one in the nw before heading to suna in LOF), I follow closely. ONce inside but not too far from the entrance, I channel my chakra and perform the Tiger → Rat → Snake handsigns, I focus it towards the ceiling. With my chakra I begin to loosen several stones until I cause them to dislodge. The process causes the cave to begin collapsing and bury my opponent. Being close to the exit, I take my leave and hope my opponent died. If not I have other measures in place.

Instance: Well this is at best a situational technique that requires a bit of setup before it can be used. I am just wondering if there are other uses for it that don't require an actual cave. I wonder if you can use this one on Jirobos earth technique he used on Naruto & co. on their way to rescue sasuke. THAT would be extremely useful but still situational. Sorry I can't find more creative uses for this.

(Doton/Katon: Yōdo Ranfunka no Jutsu) - Earth/Fire Release: Molten Earth Wild Eruption Technique

More simple than most of the ones I've done. I have my doubts about it though given our rp.

I channel my chakra from throughout my body and focus it towards my foot. I then stomp on the ground, forcing the chakra to pull up rocks. Losing no time, I then...(doesn't say how you create the fire) take out my lighter. By focusing my chakra into the small flame, I then cause it to expand forward like a blow torch. The fire super-heats the rocks to the point of almost melting them. So basically lava-to-go. The direction I caused the rocks to fly into the air head for the opponent at a reasonable speed. Should he not prepare a proper counter, then he will become my next meal.

Instance: One of my doubts about this is it's a two-fer. Meaning, it's two jutsus but while it's within the same time frame, it seems to be a bad choice against more experienced opponents who are faster. For some reason I feel this can be countered using a standard wall although considering you're combining two natures (especially that work well) that might work in your favor. My gripe is I feel it is too slow compared to other techniques that only involve one nature. Aside from that, it's aight but I doubt I would use something like this or at least carelessly. Good against water and earth defenses as one will usually match or bypass the other.

when it comes to the first move, to answer your question, that is correct. You do have to touch the ground in some type of way to transfer chakra to the existing earth to manipulate it.

As for the other techniques great performance and answers now to the next 3 jutsu.

(Doton/Raiton: Denki Iwabashira) - Earth/Lightning Release: Electric Rock Pillar
Rank: B
Type: Offensive, Supplementary
Range: Short - Mid (Short for electric bolts)
Chakra cost: 20
Damage points: 40
Description: The user will make a set of four hand seals and then will place their hand on the ground to create a pillar of earth to rise up from the ground. This pillar is then given a electrical charge that causes electric bolts to be emitted from the pillar up to short range from the pillar, shocking any targets in the vicinity.

(Doton: Ukiwagan no Jutsu) - Earth Release: Floating Ring Rock Technique
Rank: B
Type: Offensive
Range: Short - Long
Chakra cost: 20
Damage points: 40
Description: The user focuses his chakra and channels into the earth to create 2 large floating rock cubes 2 meters squared. The cubes rotate around the user to either defend him from incoming attacks (he needs to direct them using hand movements towards the attack and each cube has a C-Rank strength) or, through using the momentum created by the rotation, be flung at the enemy with incredible speed.

(Doton: Tetsu Keimusho no Jutsu) - Earth Release: Iron Prison Technique
Rank: B
Type: Supplementary
Range: Short - Long
Chakra cost: 20
Damage points: N/A
Description: After first performing the required hand seals Ram → Dog → Rat the user then places their hand on the ground. This causes a circular arena to surround the target, spanning 15 meters around him and being 4 meters high. The floor, the walls and the ceiling are all chakra reenforced and the user can also lock himself inside if he so pleases. If these prison receives any damage above C-Rank, they disappear in a puff of smoke.

The first technique is basically the basic Rock Pillar jutsu with the added lightning being channeled between the pillars. There was no image for it.

(Doton/Raiton: Denki Iwabashira) - Earth/Lightning Release: Electric Rock Pillar

Now this is something new. I actually think this would be a good one to use as an alternative to the overly used D-Rank (or is it C-Rank) rock pillar technique. Given the lightning, this can actually work quite well allowing me to mix this with a small water technique though I would need to be careful how to go about it.

While channeling my chakra towards my right hand, I make a set of four hand seals and then will place my hand on the ground, creating an earthen pillar to rise up from the ground. I then give the pillar an electrical charge that causes electric bolts to be emitted from it and up to short range from it, shocking any targets in the vicinity.

Instance: I would definitely use this against enemies despite there being much cost-effective techniques. If the enemy is able to dodge the pillar pushing him into the air he would still have to contend with the lightning which, if used with a couple jutsu, could keep your opponent on the defensive allowing you to pressure him. Works well too against multiple targets but they have to all be in range otherwise its useless.

(Doton: Ukiwagan no Jutsu) - Earth Release: Floating Ring Rock Technique

I seen this in NUNS before many times. I believe Ohnoki is the one that uses it frequently. I really love that they can be hurled up to long range. Unless I am wrong?

I focus my chakra, channel it into the earth, and create two large floating rock cubes that are two meters squared. I motion the cubes to rotate around me to defend me from incoming attacks but seeing as there is no threat I then go on the offensive. Through using the momentum created by the rotating rocks, I fling them at a nearby target with incredible speed. They're not as powerful as I can make them but they do the job of causing a distraction to the enemy.

Instance: What I like about this technique is its versatility. It can cover any range and with two rocks you can launch from two angles. You can right? Can you control them like that - make them attack from one angle here and one angle there? Regardless, you can use it offensively and defensively which is great for unpredictable opponents. I wonder though can you use it as a supplementary technique and use them as stone steps? Would be great for escapes or getting to something.

(Doton: Tetsu Keimusho no Jutsu) - Earth Release: Iron Prison Technique

Hee hee. I think this was used in Naruto's chuunin exam with Konohamaru. Or was this the one from his engagement with someone Pervy had made a promise to?

After I channel my chakra towards my right hand, I perform the Ram → Dog → Rat hand seals. I then place my hand on the ground. This causes a circular arena to appear and surround a wooden dummy I had made beforehand, spanning several meters around it (15 to be exact) and being four meters high. The floor, the walls and the ceiling are all reinforced with my chakra. I need to be careful though because if the prison receives any damage above C-Rank, it'll disappear in a puff of smoke. Talk about pressure. o__o'

Instance: This one is quite handy when dealing with certain opponents who like to escape but also to ensure no one interferes with you. I can see myself using it in the NW here and there. I am curious about the "chakra reinforced floor". Do you create a floor like a concrete one like the walls or what does it actually provide? Does it make it so your opponent can't use the earth or escape below? Oh yeah, I would definitely like to use this against summons. It helps limit their mobility although it works both ways.
