seriously people, i've seen countless people going on and on about the war sucking bc there is a lack of death of named characters...what did u expect, this is a shounen, named characters barely die even in big wars, this isnt a seinen or drama show, its a shounen, of course main characters are going to survive

and i bet the people complaining about death are huge fans of one piece, dragon ball and many other shounen manga...let me ask u how many named characters did u see die in those show...in one piece, the reason ace and whitebeard die was bc its was necessary for the plot, not bc oda felt like people had to die cuz its a war...WB died to make place for a new era and ace death was for luffy character developpment

the same happened in naruto, people only die bc its needed for the plot...the reason jiraya died was for kishi to develop naruto, same w/ asuma to develop shikamaru, not cuz kishi deceided to add death for no reason

so people please stop w/ the war lack named characters dying, you should have known by now that in shounen, named characters dnt die unless its for plot purpose...u guys going on about some rookies dying, for what? there is no point killing them if it not gona help the plot, if u want death so badly go read a seinen manga, there u're gona find main characters dying left and right

so for people hoping for named characters dying, just forget it unless its gona help the plot later...pain nuked konoha and everyone was resurrected, u think kishi is gona decide to kill named characters for no reason now...sorry pals kishi isnt turning his shounen into a seinen or a drama series, i think u guys are reading the wrong manga

The problem is that the manga is contradicting itself. Since the beginning of the series characters have stressed the burden of the ninja, that comrades die and that its is a painful existence. But in actuality we havent seen that. Even characters that do die have now been brought back life. It's all a lie contradicting itself and that is that problem.

This is supposed to be a war. The manga says 50,000 alliance members died in the first day yet its no one that we know. The manga is lying about itself and it is kind of lame. I dont want anybody we know to die, but if the manga were being true to itself, they would...

what do you mean the manga is lying to itself, people have through out the show...kishi uses fodders to show how the ninja word is, their death is already enough to show us how the ninja world work...and like i told u aint seeing named characters die for no reason, its a shounen, not a drama show

I think Naruto is a drama more than an action. And I know that no big names are going to die. But showing fodder isnt the same thing as showing the reality. You hear about bad things happening all the time in the world but it never really hits home until it happens to you or someone you care about. Like with Jiraiya's death. But that's what happens in war and we arent seeing that. We don't care about fodder, we even give fodder a silly name cos they arent taken seriously. Their deaths mean nothing to the story and mean nothing to the audience. Now if even someone like Kiba died (i hope he doesnt) it would be a lot closer to the audience and the burden would be felt by the readers creating an even deeper emotional connection whether it be sadness, anger, etc...

Agreed. I'm rather tired off seeing that myself. Not like it wasn't expected. And it's not like death doesn't/hasn't happened. Heck, the war's not even over.

There is a great war going on. By far this is the most volatile war in the ninja history..There were versatile exhibition of power and fierce battle among opponents. Yet, no known major characters succumbed to death. Doesn't it sound a bit lame? It's not true that we want death for no good reason. But if we consider the magnitude of this war, I assume some major characters should have been died by now and it'll prove magnitude of war and the essence of Jirya and pain's fear about peace and hatred.

trust me sasuke's "carnage" is gona be fodder characters, no rookies will die by sasuke hands, just like in the kage summit arc he only managed to kill fodder samurais but as soon as he tried to kill sakura, he failed, that how strong plot shield is for the named characters

that magnitude u're talking about is shown through fodders nin...even if this is about ninja, its still a shounen manga, not a seinen, in fact shounen are usually about fighting a lot in big wars and all that but the authors always spare main characters cuz its a shounen, ots normally for kids, they dnt want death like candies...the reasons im watching this show is bc i started it since like 9 years ago and grow up watching so i cant stop mid way but its normally for kid, they dnt look for many drama but entertainment

Part of the reason Edo Tensei was brought back into focus was so that characters could "die", but Kishi wouldn't have to get rid of anyone important again. No one cares about the Edos it seems. x)

Danzo deserved it though, I agree with the whole sasuke not killing anyone or more specifically he won't kill anyone that he wouldn't be forgiven for.
