The area surrounding Pablo is suddenly bathed in white smoke as Habaki appears from the depths of it smoking his kiseru.

After three long years, it's finally time... Are you ready?

Expecting nothing less than a cool entrance, Pablo didn't get disappointed as the area got filled with smoke and the sage appeared.

I think I am. And it sure is about time to be ready, isn't it?

Habaki casually draws his bow as he hears Pablo speak.

Good. Now, what can you tell me about 'Sniper Arts'?

Pablo looked in awe at the bow Habaki drew. It was red and double bladed, it gave a feeling of power and speed. Still impressed, Pablo starts to tell his view on sniper arts.

Well, first and foremost Sniper Arts involves the usage of bow and arrow. Since arrows are fast and thin projectiles, they are great for very accurate attacks and can surprise your opponent when used correctly.
Sniper Arts basically enhances that concept since you either infuse the arrows with chakra or create elemental arrows that have special effects. A basic example would be an arrow that when it gets close to an opponent, would explode/open and several needles would get launched out of it.
I feel like Sniper Arts is all about speed and accuracy, you need to trick your opponent into doing one thing so that he'd be unable to see/hear the arrow coming at him. Since a user of this fighting style has to be fast and accurate, he should train his senses to increase his tracking speed. Like that he'd be able to perfectly predict where an opponent would run/fall/jump and then fire his arrow.

Seems to me like you are speaking from experience.. :coffee:

Habaki proceeds to hand Pablo a regular and simply bow with a case of arrows. He then points to the distance, directly at five straw dummies.

I want you to practice your aim and shooting speed. I want you to take into account, elevation and wind speed as well as any other elemental abnormalities when aiming to strike the dummies.

I have this vague memory of fighting a Sniper Arts user before. I think I lost that fight as well..

Pablo studies the bow as he takes it from Mathias. It felt light and comfortable in his left hand. He then grabbed the case of arrows and put it on his back so that he could easily reach it with his right hand.

Following Habaki's directions, Pablo closes his eyes and concentrates deeply. He blocks all sound and just tries to feel the wind. The wind was pretty weak and Pablo realized that it wouldn't affect the trajectory of his arrows that much. He opened his eyes and measured the distance between himself and the dummies. Since the dummies were between mid and long range from him, Pablo knew that he should aim higher into the air and not directly at the dummies. He was lucky the sun was behind him, it would've proved difficult to see the dummies clearly if the sun was hindering his sight.

He then grabbed an arrow with his right hand and put it on the bow. He aimed towards the ground right in front of him and as he pulled back the string his aim would go higher and higher untill he was aiming a fair bit above the dummies. He inhaled deeply and as he exhaled, he released the string. The arrow got fired and flew through the air at high speed. And eventually it would hit the dummy. Not exactly where Pablo had aimed, but practice would make his aim better.

He repeated this whole proces over and over untill he got the hang of it. His aim still wasn't perfect, but he fluently drew an arrow and fired it now, making sure he exhaled when he fired one. Arrow after arrow started flying through the air and pierced deep into the dummies.

Very good, that wasn't half bad. I liked your style and posture. Now it's time to include some elemental usage with your bow. To perform this technique you'll need some explosively tagged arrows, you can have them pre-made or simply wrap them yourself. With the bow in hand (Or not) I want you to channel earth chakra into the ground and manipulate the earth beneath you, allowing you to shift it like a platform forward to your left or right five yards. As you are doing so, you will either pull out your bow or simply aimed your already drawn weapon. Due to the shifts of the ground, it will naturally raise a cloud of dust that will conceal your lower body from the neck down, reducing the chances of your target seeing you pulling/aiming your bow. As the first shift occurs, you will release a single arrow towards your target whilst also then shifting the same earthen platform five yards to the opposite side. While doing so, you will release yet another arrow and proceed to shift for the last two, to your previous side five yards once more. This will allow you to perform a fluid and swift zig-zagging combination, releasing three arrows in total from three different locations whilst keeping your body concealed. Needless to say, the first released arrow would draw the target's attention from what you are doing.

I want you to try this with the dummies. However, you will not be striking a single target, I want you to strike three individual ones.

(Sogeki Geijutsu: Mohaya yu-bekarazu touhou, Mohaya yu-bekarazu!) - Sniper Arts: Now you see me, now you don't!
Type: Attack
Rank: B
Range: Short - Long
Chakra Cost: 25
Damage: 40
Description: The user will channel his earth chakra into the ground through his feet. He then will cause the earth to start shifting at fast speeds in a zig-zag manner. The user will make a full "Z", zig-zag shifting left/right/left. Each shift travels the distance of 5 yards. So the user will go 5 yards forward/towards the left, 5 forward/towards the right, and so on. From the earth shifting a small cloud of dust will rise from the ground big enough to conceal the users body from the neck down as he shifts.(A means to confuse the opponent by blocking his view, but not entirely.) As the earth is shifting, the user will be shooting an explosively tagged arrow at great speeds in each shift he performs (so three) causing the arrows to reach the target from different angles 5 yards apart. Speed wise, the arrows are faster than throwing a regular kunai, so it will reach the target faster than normal, giving the target less time to react. Due to the dust cloud, the opponent won't be able to clearly see the user and will get confused from the zig-zag shifting the earth is causing. Due to the great field of vision and accuracy a sniper has, he will have no problem accurately hitting his desired target. This whole process is performed in a fast and swift motion.

Note: Requires the use of a Bow.
Note: Can be used three times per battle.
Note: Must be taught by Mathias.

Pablo nodded as Habaki finished his explanation. He put the bow on the ground and then grabbed a few explosion notes which he attached to some arrows. Once he was done, he picked the bow up again with his left hand and looked over at the training dummies.
He went through the explanation Habaki gave him one last time and and then started channeling earth chakra into the ground underneath him. Once he had gathered enough chakra below him, he used it to manipulate the earth and made it move forward. The first direction he headed towards was his left, as the earth was moving he grabbed an arrow and placed it on his bow. Pablo then pulled the string back, aimed a bit above the most right dummy and then let the arrow go. As soon as he let the arrow fly, he used his chakra to make the earth underneath him go to the left and placed a arrow on the bow once more. He pulled the string back and started aiming at the middle target. Since he was getting closer and closer to the dummies he had to aim more and more directly at the dummies since the arrow wouldn't travell as far. Once he had moved 5 yards he let the arrow go and made the earth move once more. He repeated the whole proces and once he had gone another 5 yards he let the last arrow go. As soon as he did so, he stopped channeling earth chakra into the ground and as he looked back at Habaki, he saw that he had travelled a fair distance and due to his speed, a cloud of dust had appeared.

Hey Habaki, I like this jutsu! I feel like it can be perfectly used when your opponents shoots for example wind bullets at you. You would be able to dodge them by moving and attack at the same time, wouldn't you?

I'm glad you like it! And yes, that's correct. Although, it depends on the actual size of the wind bullets.

(Sogeki Geijutsu: Kouseitan'i Ojigi-Shukun) - Sniper Arts: Elemental Bowmaster
Type: Attack
Rank: B
Range: Short - Long
Chakra Cost: 25
Damage: 40
Description: Through the art of Kyūjutsu, the user will concentrate his chakra into a specific elemental type. Using shape manipulation, the user will form an arrow completely made up of the selected element. Once the arrow is shot, the user can choose to split the arrow into three smaller versions to pierce multiple areas of the selected target. With the use of a single hand seal, the user can turn the arrow into a small blast to defend against certain techniques depending on their size. (Ex. Small/Medium sized fireballs, water shots, mud shots, wind blades etc.)

Wind - If the extra hand seal is used, the wind arrow will turn into a small gust of wind.

Lighting - If the extra hand seal is used, the lighting arrow will turn into a small crescent shaped blade that can cut through solid rock.

Water - If the extra hand seal is used, the water arrow will turn into a small slash of water big enough to evaporate small/fire balls/blasts.

Fire - If the extra hand seal is used, the fire arrow will turn into a small sized blast of fire hot enough to evaporate small scaled water techniques.

Earth - If the extra hand seal is used, the earth arrow will turn into a small rounded shield that can be used to block certain techniques.

Note: Requires the use of a Bow.
Note: Can be used three times
Note: If the user chooses to multiply the arrows he can not perform the hand seal to convert them into their other forms and vice versa.
Note: Must be taught by Mathias

A very simple elemental arrow technique. I want you to perform individual elemental arrows in which ever order you'd like. You will then proceed to release them. As they are released you can choose to either leave them as a single arrow, split them into three smaller ones or perform a single hand seal and turn the arrow into an actual small blast/projectile of the selected elemental type. If you have any questions feel free to ask me!

When Habaki finished his explanation, Pablo turned to face another set of training dummies and got into a shooting stance. As he aimed at the first dummy, he started gathering fire chakra into his right hand. Once he had gathered eough chakra, he concentrated deeply and formed an arrow made out of fire. He then pulled back the string of the bow, made sure his aim was correct, exhaled and let go of the arrow and string. As soon as he let go of the arrow and string, he performed a handseal and made the arrow turn into a small fireball. Immediatly afterwards, he started gathering wind chakra in his right hand as he pulled back the string. Once he had gathered enough chakra, he once again created an arrow out of it, aimed and let go. As the (wind) arrow caught up to the fireball, he performed the handseal once more and turned the wind arrow into a small gust of wind. The wind and fire would combine and burn/cut the dummy.

Pablo then raised his bow again and adjusted his aim slightly, this time his target was the second training dummy. And the whole process restarted. He would pull back the string of his bow with his right hand whilst channeling chakra into it. Now it was water chakra. After gathering a sufficient amound of chakra, he used shape manipulation to turn the chakra into an arrow. When the arrow was formed, he exhaled and released the string. After doing so, he performed the signature handseal once more and turned the arrow into a small blast of water. As Pablo pulled back the string again, he started gathering lightning chakra into his hand, formed an arrow out of it and released the arrow and string. He performed the handseal as the arrow caught up with the water and this time, the lightning would electrocute the water and increase it's damage.

Finally, Pablo started gathering earth chakra into his right hand as he pulled back the string. He adjusted his aim for the last time and once he had made sure he would hit his target, he created an arrow out of the chakra and let go of the string. He then performed the handseal and turned the arrow into a small round shield. The shield could block small projectiles, however since the dummy couldn't shoot/throw anything, the shield would hit the head of the dummy and Pablo realized the shield could deal a nice amount of damage as well when used correctly.

No issues what's so ever!

(Sogeki Geijutsu: Kakutou Ya Dagekinami) - Sniper Arts: Grappling Arrow Shockwave
Type: Supplementary/Attack
Rank: B
Range: Short - Long
Chakra Cost: 25
Damage: 40
Description: While airborne, the user will shoot an arrow at great speeds towards the ground. The arrow is attached to a very strong chakra string. The string is attached to the bow's grip so that once the arrow makes contact with the ground, it can reel in the user to avoid aerial techniques or simply to get back into the ground faster. As the user is coming down with great force, he charges earth chakra into his feet. Once his feet make contact with the ground, a 360 degree wave of earth (B-Ranked) will be made and spread out in the form of a shockwave. This is due to the intensive landing and earth chakra concentration when stomping/landing on the ground. The user will receive no harm to his feet when landing at such speed, the reason being because while landing, the user softened the earth while stomping the ground and creating the shockwave, and thus landing on a pillow of earth as the shockwave forms. This technique does not necessarily have to be used while being airborne, the user can choose to be reel'd into other objects or even gain height by hooking onto flying objects.(Not kunais or anything of that sort. More like stabbing through a summoning, or maybe even a flying piece of earth etc..)

Note: Requires the use of a Bow.
Note: Can be used three times per battle.
Note: When used to gain height, the shockwave will not form unless the user stomps/lands onto the ground.
Note: Must be taught by Mathias.

This technique is pretty, one of my favorites. You will release a regular arrow whilst releasing your chakra and shape manipulating it into a strong chakra string. The string will be attached the bow's grip as well as the arrow. This method is used to climb and grapple onto things, like flying summons or perhaps debris, structures. The other usage is while airborne, you release the arrow towards the ground, and bring yourself forcefully down. A preferred method to both avoid attacks from the sky as well as attack. Since any normal person would absolutely break their legs, you are able to use your earth chakra to dampen the damage by softening the earth on impact, releasing a shockwave to attack in the process.

OOC: You're back!! I can't believe it, ily =;

Once more Nanashi performed the short ritual he had developed whilst performing the previous moves. He closed his eyes and started concentrating on the wind speed. When he had figured out how the wind would affect the trajectory of the arrow he was about to fire, he reached into the quiver and got hold of an arrow and put it on the bow. Nanashi then aimed straight at the ground and started to gather chakra in the arrow and his bow. Once he had gathered enough chakra, he connected both chakra pools. Next, he pointed the arrow at a large rock that had suddenly appeared at mid range and fired the arrow. As soon as Nanashi released the arrow he manipulated the chakra and formed it into a string. Since the arrow was fired with tremendous speed, Nanashi got pulled by it towards the rock.
Whilst flying towards the rock, he charged earth chakra in his feet in order to create both a pillow of earth and a shockwave once he hit the rock.

Doesn't this move make you very susceptible to jutsus that come from the ground? Once could easily see where you shot your arrow and then figure out where you'd land. Or even if vision was blocked, most sensors could sense the chakra string and try and predict what you would do.

Missed you :3
