[Discussion] Pain and Itachi

wow this discussion went on longer than i expected it to... once again i appreciate everyones input..
i didnt go through everyones arguements yet and i wish i had participated more but skimming through i think Pain has the best arguements and best chances of winning this fight..
biggest reasons are
1. Rinnegan vs Sharingan (Mangekyou)- Rinnegan is a more powerful technique. both Nagato and Itachi were masters of their doujutsu but Nagato has the better eye jutsu
2. 6 on 1. Pain geniusly spreads his Rinnegan and powers to 6 bodies. each Pain is a force on its own but to take on 6 at a time is murder. Itachi would put up a good fight, maybe even take out most of the bodies but his chances are low because he's outnumbered.
3. Pain's techniques are very secretive. Itachis techniques arent. Pain has the element of suprise.. only technique that Itachi could suprise Pain with is the Sealing Sword (forget the name) that his Sasuno wields and the Sheild also..

Welcome Back.
1) Rinnegan is more Powerful than the MS
2) 6 on 1. Naruto took out all 6 with SM with the help of Katsyu (slug) about their powers. Jiraiya took out the first three pains he encountered. Itachi can probably do the same since he is smarter (than naruto), and probably stronger(than J man). Deducing each power and how to defeat each one.
3) Even so, with the MS I think Itachi can deduce each Path easily. Nagato would probably do the same to Itachi.
No, it's not. Itachi joined only after the akatsuki was established. How could he be a leader if there was already a leader? Also, he didn't even want to be the leader of akatsuki. And the leader was Tobi in fact and Tobi WAS afraid of Itachi (if you don't know why, please refer to the manga). Your logic is flawed.
Well if you didn't go through all the arguments how can you say that pain has the best ones? I'm pretty sure I mare some strong arguments for Itachi, which from a logic point of view work quite well in his favor.

my boy u have taken being wary as being taken afraid..
reading managa is not it u have to understand...
in all his heart itachi wanted to protect konoha, it was very dear to him, dear enought for him to kill off his own clan including his mom and dad.
If he could kill so mant people for konaha to be @ piece wat would stop him from killing pein knowing what big of a threat akatski is....
the ans is simple wat stopped him was the fact he knew he culdnt defea pain, so he chose to stay with akatsuki and keep an eye on them..
and as far as my logic goes, if itachi was that almight he could have replcaed pein.
And don't forget itachi was a born prodigy.... Extremely intelligent... His strongest point is genjutsu or was since he is dead... Anyway, he didn't like to get in the mess of physical attacks and battles...... And only an uchiha could break free of tsukuyomi, like sasuke did.... And if pain was easily caught in the sage frog genjutsu, i don't think that the battle b/w itachi and nagato would last more than 10 mins...... No exaggeration here...., even madara was afraid of itachi, and madara was the one pulling strings behind akatsuki from the beginning...... Madara himself admitted that if itachi knew everything about him, then he would have been dead..... And thats sayin somethin.......
Itachi did love konoha, but he didn't want anyone to know this fact..... No one besides the three head councillors, 3rd hokage and madara, knew that itachi was a good guy..... Itachi himself posed as a bad guy, rogue ninja... And itachi wanted sasuke to defeat him and become a hero to konoha, he NEVER wanted to tell sasuke or anyone that he loved his village and wasn't rogue..... He took the blame on himself and died hoping that no one would know his truth....... Thats why he remained a part of akatsuki, to pose as a rogue ninja....... And in case you haven't noticed, he never wanted to capture naruto.... He sort of liked naruto cuz naruto loved sasuke....... And itachi believed that naruto would be able to change sasuke's heart...... But that bit didnt go as planned, you see, madara knew everything about itachi and itachi was afraid that sasuke might learn the truth.... So he implanted amaterasu in sasuke's eyes HOPING THAT IT WOULD FINISH OFF MADARA........

Itachi will own with Susanoo and the sword that can seal anything and the shield that cant be broken... plus Genjutsu...

That's what I was thinking Susano'o with Yata Mirror, and Totsuka sword is pretty much impossible to beat..
Even without Susanoo, Jiraiya took out three Paths with a SM style genjutsu and we know Itachi is a genjutsu master he could probably do the same with stronger Genjutsu techniques.
Nagato vs Itachi would be a hell of a battle.
