I don't think Orochimaru is scared of anyone tbh. when itachi schooled him the first time, he marvelled at the uchiha's power. When he saw 4-tails naruto he was enetertained. And he showed no fear when he faced Itachi a second time. If anything, his overwhelming arrogance was his downfall all times.

The only time he showed fear was when Hiruzen took away his arms, and when sasuke absorbed him.

Itachi isn't weaker than Jman, people mostly can agree that they were roughly equal when that cofrontation happened but itachi was cautious and knew that a battle to the death with jiraya would have blown their whole mission. however it is kind of inconsistant that Jman and Tsunade would have to double team Orochimaru if jiraya alone is comparable to Itachi, especially with orochimarus arms being sealed at the time

I think itachi is cheating kesame to protect naruto.
In fact both kesame and oro think itachi is the stronger one. Imo itachi cannot use Susanoo and Izanami at that time.
