Before we get started, I just wanna ask you a couple of things:

1. How knowledgeable are you with respect to the NV? The manga and anime specifically.
2. How familiar are you with the RP, if at all?
3. Do you have an approved bio? Would you prefer to do the orientation using our bios, or without RP'ing?

Cool. This orientation is gonna take you through all the basics you need to know to participate in the RP, and it should give you a pretty solid grasp of all the fundamental concepts and rules. I'm gonna be basing it around this thread: Hitchhiker's Guide to the Naruto Roleplay.

I'm gonna start by covering biographies, since its the starting point of basically everything in the RP, and after that, we can talk about whichever section you wish to next (Battling, Ninja World, and Customs). I'll be taking it one section per post, so I'm not just dumping buckets of information on your head. I'll cover all of the basics for each section, and if you have any questions, just reply to the post with them and I'll do my best to answer. If any questions about a certain section pop up later, don't hesitate to ask either. And don't worry about having an incorrect answer, or not knowing the answer, I'm happy to help fill any knowledge gaps you might have. That being said, I'll begin the orientation with this post. We'll be doing this without RP'ing it, but if you do feel like using your bio, just start and I'll follow suit :giggle:

So, as you already know, biographies are characters you use to participate in various activities within our RP. Whether its moving through the Ninja World, or fighting other biographies in the Battle Arena, your bio is its own character within the RP that can accumulate all kinds of different abilities. There are 3 types of bios one can make:
1. Canon biography (a bio that is directly taken from the Naruto series, e.g. Sasuke or Zabuza). Note that you can put "skins" on canon bios to make the character custom while retaining all the abilities of the bio. For example, putting an Ichigo skin on a Naruto bio. Skins are purely cosmetic and don't affect the bio or its abilities in any way.
2. Custom biography (a bio that does not come from the Naruto series, such as Ichigo from Bleach or Light from Death Note). My bio for example, Richard (Saber in my signature), is a custom bio, and is from a series called Fate/strange fake. You also have a custom bio. Custom bios generally offer greater versatility in terms of abilities they can acquire, but there are certain canon bios with abilities that are unique to them, or possess an assortment of abilities that otherwise cannot be done on a custom bio.
3. Trial bios are pre-approved biographies that can be used to test-run certain characters without having to go through the methods to permanently acquire them. Their abilities are fixed, meaning that the abilities listed in the bio are the only skills that bio can use, which is done to emulate their canon appearances and to restrict the bios as well. However, one advantage to the trial bios is that even if you don't possess the skills listed on that bio, such as Fūinjutsu, you are able to use it exclusively on that bio. With the implementation of a third bio slot, these don't get used anymore, but you're probably still able to make them.

Now, we'll just gloss over the basics for posting, updating and dropping bios. These are pretty easy to understand and follow, you should just keep them in the back of your mind when making decisions on biographies you want to have:
1. At any given time, you may have up to 2 approved bios, and 3 once you reach Jōnin rank. I'll get to ranks in a moment.
2. Once a bio is approved, you cannot edit it for any reason. If there is an error in the bio, such as improper specialties or missing abilities, ask a moderator who handles bios (list can be found here: RP Staff Jobs) to edit them in. You are free to edit the bio as you see fit before its approved, but editing it after approval will invalidate the bio, meaning it will be declined. Also, once the bio is approved, you cannot drop that bio or update it for up to a month after. When your bio has accumulated more abilities, such as Leg Weights or Sound, or ranked up, you can post an update to make record of these changes. The old version of the bio will be dropped and the new version will be what you use to participate in RP activities.
3. Obviously, you must follow the basic template, found here: Basic Bio Rules & Ranks. You are free to stylise the template, in order to give it more aesthetic appeal, but it cannot deviate from the basic template. All sections must be included.

Moving on to ranks and abilities. The rank of your biography determines its overall capabilities, how fast it is, what abilities it can learn, the amount of techniques it can use in any given field, and its health and chakra reserves. For example, an Academy Student (the starting/default rank) has 35 health points and 300 chakra points. Additionally, they can use C-Rank techniques from 2 of the 5 basic elements (such as Water and Fire), and 1 basic ninja skill (such as Taijutsu). As you rank up, you are able to use more of the basics and more of the techniques from each field, until you reach Jōnin rank, which lets you use all 9 of the basic fields and all of their respective techniques (except certain exclusive techniques of course, which would be mentioned in the technique's description or somewhere else in the jutsu). I'll post the details of Genin and Chūnin ranks, and briefly explain how ranking up using battles works. From there, its pretty self-explanatory on what abilities each rank has, and what each rank up requires.
1. Genin
Requires 4 D or C-Rank mission completions AND/OR battles (Rank Up from Academy Student)
Base Health / Chakra: 75 / 600
2 Basic Elements + 1 Basic Skill
Able to use canon and submit custom techniques of up to C-Rank in those fields

2. Chūnin
Requires 5 B or A-Rank mission completions AND/OR battles
Base Health / Chakra: 100 / 1000
3 Basic Elements + 2 Basic Skills
Able to use canon and submit custom techniques of up to A-Rank in those fields

Now, ranking up using fights works on a point-based system. I'll cover the way missions work when I get to explaining the Ninja World, so don't worry about that for the time being. Now, when using fights for rank up, your rank relative to the opponent's, or vice versa, determines how many points that fight will count for when ranking up. Progressing from Genin to Chūnin requires 5 "points". Fighting against an opponent of the same rank counts for one point, so 5 fights if each one is against a Genin. Now, when fighting someone one rank below your rank, an Academy Student if you're a Genin, that fight's point value will be halved, so it will only count for 0.5 points towards ranking up. If you're fighting against someone of one rank higher than you, e.g. fighting a Chūnin as a Genin, that fight will count for 1.5 points towards rank up. Fighting someone of two ranks higher will instead count towards 2 points of your rank up. Now, a couple of things to keep in mind here. Firstly, it doesn't matter if you win or lose a fight. As long as you perform well in the battle (not making a number of glaring errors), it will be considered valid when counting points for rank up. Secondly, the battle must be of sufficient length. I'd say that 4 posts from each participant is a good benchmark. Once you have fulfilled the points required for a rank up, you submit these fights using the rank template here: [x]
Outside of this, there's not really much else to it. I'll cover things like customs and battling later during the orientation. Now I'll move onto special abilities and kumi.

As you know, there are a multitude of abilities you can acquire in the RP, such as Typhoon on your Sakamoto bio, and Dark Release on my Saber bio. Special abilities can be divided into 7 different categories:
1. Hidden Ability
2. Kekkei Genkai
3. Advanced Ninjutsu
4. Modes
5. Advanced Elements
6. Universal Abilities
7. Special Bios

Each of these abilities are unique, and can allow for varied styles of fighting and roleplay. Something like the Sharingan, a Kekkei Genkai (KG for short), allows enhanced tracking and unique Genjutsu, for example. The Nara's shadow techniques are a Hidden Ability. You can find a list of all abilities and their rules here: Bio Rules Quick Access. Clicking on an ability name will take you to it's rules and restrictions page, giving you a description of what the ability in question can do, and the restrictions on making a bio with said ability. Some abilities can be stacked with each other, such as a bio with an Advanced Element also having access to a Hidden Ability (e.g. Dark + Nara), details here: [x].
Some abilities have a kumi price on them, requiring purchase before they can be used, in addition to the other rules and restrictions regarding their use. For example, Basic Fuinjutsu is priced at 5500 kumi, and requires Genin Rank. You can check these kumi prices in the threads for each ability, as well as the kumi shop here: [x], or the Currency System: Kumi & Purchase Lists. You can earn kumi by battling, which works in a similar way to the point system for missions, and I'll briefly touch on this again when we cover battles later. To earn kumi from battles, the fight must be official. When calculating the kumi you earn from winning a fight, the rank of your opponent affects the amount earned, as well as whether you won on time limit. Beating an opponent of the same rank yields 500 kumi, and increases or decreases by 50 per rank difference. For example, a Chunin beating a Jonin would yield 550 kumi, since the Jonin is a rank higher, and a Genin beating an Academy student would yield 450 kumi. In case of a time limit win, halve the amount of kumi you would earn from winning. Passing a mission of a certain rank will earn you the corresponding kumi amount, so its fairly easy in this respect.
Now, when you earn kumi from missions and battles, you must keep a record of it in your custom jutsu thread. Even if you don't have any custom jutsu, you should make one to keep a track of your kumi. Using the template at the bottom of this post: [x] , you can keep track of all kumi you earn from missions and battles. There are examples of accounting in that post, so just follow that template. Once a battle or mission has been approved (allowing it to be used for rank up and allowing you to earn kumi from it), you may then make the appropriate transaction in your thread.

And now, specialties. They're fairly simple in concept, so it won't take long to explain. Specialties are skills that your bio has a proficiency for, allowing for them to use skills with certain perks. You're able to specialise in any of the skills you can use, regardless of whether you can use all the techniques in the field. Each specialty type, and the specific specialties under each category are outlined and explained in this post: [x]. These allow you to orient your bio towards skills that you prefer. For example, I use the first specialty preset (2 Primary + 1 Secondary + Extra) on both my bios. On my Rider bio, in my signature, I have a primary specialty on Fire Release, and my custom element. This allows me to use techniques from those fields with a single seal, if any are required. My secondary specialty on Rider allows me to lower the chakra cost of Fire techniques by 10 points. What specialties you choose is entirely up to you, giving you a great amount of freedom in what you wish for your bio to specialise in.

Take your time reading through the information, try and understand it as best you can. And remember, ask questions if there's anything you're unclear on. Apologies if the length of this post is a bit overwhelming, I've tried to keep things as concise as possible and not leave out important details. This is probably the heaviest part of the orientation, so after this, its gonna be a lot less information to wade through for each topic lol.

OFF Conversation - Sorry wanted to start yesterday got hold up in irl . I am free now .

I understand I have custom bio according to what you mentioned . So having Canon bio an advantage in RP ?

I have doubts regarding how missions work here ? So I have to ask other RP player to challenge him since he might be from other village .

All good.

There isn't a straight 'advantage', so to speak. It depends on what you want out of a bio. Custom bios are generally easier to tailor to your liking, since you can pick and choose exactly what you want. Canon bios are at their strongest once you get to Tier 4 and 5 (you can look these up in the Currency System: Kumi & Purchase Lists), but they are very expensive, so you need to invest a lot into acquiring them. That being said, they are indeed powerful, mainly due to their unique abilities, as well as passive boosts. My advice to you in terms of bios, would be to experiment with different abilities, preferably those that don't cost kumi, or at least those with a low cost (within the tier 1 - 2 range). This way, you can get a feel of how different abilities work, and whilst also familiarising yourself with the way the RP works in a more general sense. Once you're more comfortable within the RP, you can set a goal for yourself in terms of abilities you want to acquire, whether its Yin-Yang or a Six Paths Naruto bio, its entirely up to you. It doesn't have to be a super high tier ability either, it can be Fuuin, Medical Ninjutsu, or even Curse Mark. Once you reach these goals, then you can start aiming higher and higher. In essence, start small, and build yourself up. And just as a reminder, be aware of what abilities you can and can't have on certain bios, and what ability combinations are and aren't possible.

Hopefully that answers your first question. If you're still unclear on that, or anything else I said above about bios, just let me know. I'll address missions and the Ninja World here, since it'll also answer your questions about it. I'll focus on missions, landmarks, story arcs and clans/factions/villages, following this thread: Ninja World Guidelines and Rules. I'll probably touch on the other sections briefly, but what I'm focusing on is the absolutely essential knowledge. I'll bold the portion that addresses your question about missions, you'll see it as you read along the post.

The Ninja World is the place where everyone's bios can interact with each other, whether its just to talk, to travel, to fight, or to trade. What your bio does in its time in the NW is entirely up to you. Think of it as one giant playground where you can do virtually anything. This 'blank canvas' setting is what forms the basis of missions, which I'll get to soon. First, I'll talk about story arcs and landmarks.

Now, in the NW, there is a consistent timeline which is followed. Think of NW story arcs as you would story arcs in any narrative. During these arcs, you are able to travel throughout the NW, doing whatever you like essentially. Of course, you need an approved bio to actually participate in the NW. Story arcs can last for varying amounts of time, generally within the timeframe of one to three months. When each arc ends, there is a brief window of time where you are able to update your bio that you're using for the Ninja World, or switch it. You're not forced to only update that bio during the downtime between story arcs, and using a bio in the NW doesn't restrict you from using it in the Battle Arena or other places outside the NW section, but any changes you make to the bio won't take effect until the next arc, if you intend on still using that bio. Should you drop the bio you're using for the NW, or switch characters, you will lose any artifacts, ryo and clan allegiance that was associated with the bio. These are things you should keep in mind when deciding what bio to commit to the NW.

Before I go on, I'll briefly talk about landmarks and travel. The geography of the NW is made of numerous sub-locations in each part of the NW. You can find the map which numbers every landmark in the NW in the first post of the NW Guidelines and Rules. Now, when you travel through the NW, you have to move through adjacent landmarks. I'll base an example on the map.

You must be registered to see images

If I wanted to quickly reach Landmark 77 (Thousand Needles, Great Wind Desert), and I was located in Landmark 69 (Dragon's Rest, Great Wind Desert), I would move from 69 to 73, to 76, and then reach 77. Now, when you travel into another landmark, there is a mandatory 45 minute wait period before you can post in the landmark you're moving into, and you must link the post to the landmark where you're coming from. Once the 45 minute wait period passes, you have technically left the landmark you were coming from, even if you haven't posted in the landmark you're going to. It is possible to reduce the waiting period between travel posts, and can be done via artifacts you acquire in the NW from completing missions or by buying them from the marketplace. Now, onto missions.

Missions are one of the main NW activities you can participate in, and they're one of the primary methods of gaining kumi, ryo, and artifacts. You can initiate and take part in a mission anywhere you please in the NW. A mission is made up of what is called "Storyboard Elements". These elements are objectives which you carry out in a mission, each one entailing a different task to perform. There are a large amount of these elements, giving you a great selection to choose from. You're also able to make your own original storyboard elements as well. All of the listed storyboard elements come with a set rank, which corresponds with the difficulty or complexity of that element. For example, a D-Rank storyboard element is rather simple, and does not present much of a challenge to complete. A B-Rank storyboard element is relatively challenging by contrast. The easiest storyboard elements are D-Rank, and increase in difficulty as follows.

D-Rank (1)
C-Rank (2)
B-Rank (3)
A-Rank (4)
S-Rank (5)

You should keep this in mind when writing out your mission, as even though you have complete control over the mission itself, you must display some kind of struggle in the mission, depending on the mission's rank. In order to determine a mission's rank, you take the average of the storyboard elements you're using. For example, a mission with one S-Rank (5) element, and one B-Rank (3) element makes an A-Rank (4) element. This means that, overall, your bio should experience a pretty great struggle in completing the objectives outlined in the mission, such as sustaining lots of moderate injury and fighting an opponent who can counter your abilities. When submitting your mission, you go to the Storyboard Mission Submission thread and submit your mission using the template in the first post. Should you pass the mission, you will be rewarded accordingly with kumi and ryo, and you will have the chance to receive an artifact. These items hold special abilities which can range from decreasing travel time, to healing the user slightly, to improving their skills with a certain element.

To answer your question. There isn't any specific thing you have to do to initiate a mission, which gives you a lot of freedom in how you start one. For example, you can randomly stumble onto a gang of thugs beating an innocent person, or you could hear from a random NPC that you create about a disturbance happening in a nearby area. You just start a mission wherever you want basically. Village and clan membership doesn't matter when you want to start a mission with them, unless you're doing missions with clan-exclusive storyboard elements. Just make a note somewhere in the post that you're starting a mission, list the elements you're using, and begin. If you wanna start a mission with someone else, I'd advise messaging them before starting, to see if they're interested in doing a mission with you. Either that, or simply start an interaction with them in-character, and go from there.

Ryo is a currency, like kumi, but used strictly in the NW. While Kumi is used to purchase things like abilities for bios, ryo is used to purchase items in the NW. It can also be used as a reward for bounties. Like kumi, you must keep an account of it in your custom jutsu thread, making record of where and when you earn and spend it. As stated before, when you drop or switch out your NW bio, you lose all ryo you had on it, resetting you to zero.

In the NW, you're able to form groups with other people officially known as clans. The ultimate goal of any clan is to achieve village status, which is done by leveling up the clan through clan missions. Through completions of these missions, leveling up your clan in the process, you earn artifacts, ryo and territory. Your clan will become a much greater presence in the NW, being able to increase your clan's influence and power by way of democratic treaties or total conquest. When you start, obviously the clan begins at the lowest level, and you can choose a single landmark to begin with as your home base. When thinking about who to have in your clan to start with, and who to add to the clan, you must bear in mind the clan points your clan has available. With each clan level, there are a certain amount of clan points available, which serves to limit the possibility of unfair power distributions and balances among clans. Each ninja rank has a point value placed on it, and defines how much of the clan limit a certain bio will fill up:

Academy Student - 0
Genin - 1
Chunin - 3
Jounin - 5
Sage - 7

At level one, for example, a maximum of two sages and one genin can be in the clan. As stated before, as you level up, you're able to claim more and more territory, increase your clan points and gain new members, eventually reaching village status once your clan has held level five for three months minimum. For all the specifics of how clans work, see here: [x].

As with above, just take your time reading through the information, make sure its all clear and understood. If it isn't, refer to the Ninja World Rules and Guidelines. And if it is still unclear, please let me know.

Thanks ,
So far i have understood with summarized point is this

1. Canon bio are usually for Tier 4 -5 to get these you need lot of kumis to invest to get those abilities . You also mentioned invest a lot into acquiring them what does it exactly mean ? So i have to do more mission and battles for all this interesting ?

2. If i say i want to be a Anbu squad in a village what are the requirements for my requirements ?

3. I am bit confused on story arc so i should create my story arc of my character as i progress in the Ninja World ? So once the part of an arc of story ends i have to keep updating my bio . Interesting you also mention battle arena here do i get more Ryo ( Village currency i believe ) . I am bit confised on trading part so is it something related to trade the abilities ?

4. So if i plan to travel from Land of Snow to Land of Fire it takes me approx 45 minute to post because i am still on my traelling path . So the travel time is same for all the regions ?

5. In Mission , Ryo and Artifacts : I think this is important stuff written here

a. I am curious how mission are exactly assigned is there village clan leader who assign it to D- Rank for a Genin student ? Also you mentioned "own original storyboard elements " How different is it from the other story Board Element " ? I read through the storyboard mission few of the player were evaluated and shown as fail and pass so i bit confused across here .

b. Ryo is a currency, like kumi, but used strictly in the NW. While Kumi is used to purchase things like abilities for bios, ryo is used to purchase items in the NW. (This i understood)

6. Clans and Ranks :
a. So does the RP Team randomly allot players to a clan or is it related to place i was born ( Land of snow according to the map i guess ?)
b. Also you mention level up to claim more and more territories (So if involve more and more of story line and engage to fight in battle arena to make the clan stronger hope i am wrong and answer is something else )

1. No, not all bios are on the tier list, as they don't need to be purchased and don't have any special rules around making them. For example, you can make Shino any time you want. Some canon bios are on the tier list, starting from tier 2, because they have unique abilities or variants of abilities (such as Deidara, who uses the clay form of Blast Release). Also note, there are standard and advanced versions of certain canon bios. Standard versions of a bio can generally be made at any time, while advanced versions will require kumi in addition to following the other rules of making the bio. For example, a standard Sasuke bio can be made at any time, only requiring the default starting rank, and to be using Fire, Lightning and Ninjutsu on the bio. An advanced Sasuke bio with EMS (Eternal Mangekyou) requires 19000 kumi, Chunin rank, and you have to have owned the standard Sasuke bio for at least 2 months. A Six Paths Sasuke requires 30000 kumi, and for you to have held the EMS bio for 2 months. And yes, for the higher tier bios, you will need to do more missions and battles to save more kumi, so that you can buy these bios. When I say investing, I'm talking about the time you spend earning the kumi to buy the bio or ability you want. Again, you'll need to visit the Kumi tier and purchase lists to see what requires kumi, and the bio's rules thread to see what the specific restrictions and requirements are for that bio.

2. There is no set structure for how a clan or village organises its members. Everybody in the clan or village is free to decide how they wish to run things, whether its a group of equals who all vote on courses of action, a select group of members who act as officials, or have a single person with all the power that makes every decision for the clan/village. You can indeed make an ANBU squad or similar group within your clan, and you're free to organise it how ever you like. If you're joining a clan/village that isn't your own, you'll just follow whatever rules they may have set in place.

3. You are free to create a story arc for your character, yes. It is optional, but encouraged. Its also optional to update your bio, but you should do it for the sake of keeping record of all the changes to the bio that may occur, such as acquiring more ryo, obtaining artifacts, changes in appearance and adding to the history, as well as getting new abilities like CE or AE. As for the Battle Arena, you cannot earn ryo there. Only kumi. You can earn ryo from fights in the NW, if you loot an enemy's body and find ryo on them, and you can take artifacts they have as well. Be wary though, the same can also be done to you, so choose your confrontations wisely. Trading is something you can do with other RP'ers in the NW, or at marketplaces. You can buy people's artifacts with ryo, if they're willing to sell, or you can trade your artifacts with each other, you're able to sell your artifacts for ryo, etc. You just need to be with another RP'er in the same landmark obviously, or you go to a marketplace to buy whatever they're offering. The marketplace spawns in one of the landmarks in the NW, and you'll know which one it is, as the marketplace is constantly updated. You can see details here: Ninja World Marketplace.

4. Yes, there is a 45 minute wait period between each post of travel, no matter where you're going or where you are. Also, just because more than 45 minutes have elapsed, does not mean you get to travel through landmarks quicker. For example, on my travel through the landmarks I mentioned before, if I was moving from landmark 69 to 73, and an hour and a half passed, that doesn't mean I get to move straight to 76. I still have to move into the next landmark and wait out the mandatory 45 minutes between travel posts. As said before, there are ways to shorten travel time, such as artifacts which can reduce the waiting period time by 5 minutes, for example. Changes to the landmark may also reduce travel time, such as someone building in pathways.

5. a. You don't have to be in a village or clan to carry out missions. The leaders of clans and villages are free to issue missions to other members, and you can receive missions from certain factions for ryo and kumi, as well as other rewards exclusive to faction missions. Factions are different from clans and villages, as they aren't controlled by other players. You can simply receive a faction mission at any time. A clan mission can also be done at any time, provided you're in a clan, and does not have to be issued by another member or leader of the clan.

6. a. So, there are two types of clans in the RP. The first is the clan which you're born to, such as Uchiha or Hyuga. That's what goes at the top of the bio in the basic information, with the name, nickname, age etc. Then there's the WSE Clan, which stands for Warring States Era. This is a group that you make with other RP'ers or join into, though being in a WSE clan is optional. I can have an Uchiha bio but not be a part of any WSE clan, or I can have an Akimichi bio that is part of a WSE clan that occupies the Badlands of Earth (certain area in the NW). Your bio's clan doesn't necessarily influence the WSE clan it joins. I hope that's not too confusing, just let me know if it is.

b. You're somewhat correct. By doing clan missions, you are able to increase your WSE clan's level, in a similar way to how you do missions to rank up. You can also make war with other WSE clans to claim their territory, or make treaties to organise deals for ownership and exchange of landmarks. Doing clan missions levels up your WSE clan, and you're able to claim more and more landmarks with each level. Remember, the landmarks you claim must be adjacent, meaning that the landmarks you own must all be right next to each other. This changes when you reach village status. You cannot level up your WSE clan by fighting in the battle arena, as it is an NW activity. You can take artifacts you earn in the NW into the battle arena though.

Thanks,

The queries i have seem to clear lot of thing. How exactly the RP system works. I think understanding and entering into the game is really important.

Currently i dont have any WSE clan should i update my bio onnce i start entering into the RP ?

Also is it less advantage if you opt out from uchiha/hyugga . Are there any customized clans in this RP game or is it advisable to stick with existing WSE clan ?

As of right now, no, I don't think you need to. Your bio is up to date. Unless you want to change what elements and skills you can use. When the next arc begins, you can just hop into the NW anywhere you like, except for landmarks claimed by other clans or villages, which you can check for in the first post of the Ninja World Guide thread. The maps show all the landmarks, including whether they're claimed and who owns them. You should only be updating your bio if there's new information to add, such as a new rank and new abilities. WSE clan also applies to this rule.

The non-WSE clan is only an identifying feature of your bio and its chosen ability, and isn't really important outside of that. For example, a bio with Sharingan comes from the Uchiha clan, and that's that. It has no function other than being an identifying feature of the bio really. So, I suppose that's a no to the first part of the question. As for the second part, all clans in the NW are customisable, being run by other RP'ers who also participate in the NW. There are no 'default' clans that everyone can choose to start in, you can either join clans other people have made, or you can start your own by yourself or with others.

Thanks,
I think all my doubt seems clear last thing i need to understand about basic health/ chakra . Is there limitation during the battle.

Also how exactly how the victor is claimed or concluded in the battle arena .

Yes. The health and chakra your bio has is dependent on your rank. You can check the Basic Bio Rules, Template, & Ranks thread to see how much health and chakra each rank has. Fairly simple. Obviously, once either your health or chakra reaches 0, you lose the fight. Keep in mind, while it is possible to replenish health and chakra, you can never exceed the base amount your bio has. For example, a Jounin rank bio has 160 base health and 1600 base chakra, and if they replenish their health and/or chakra through items or jutsu, they can only restore themselves to that cap. No higher. You cannot raise the cap unless you rank up.

The opponent may concede defeat in the thread where you're battling or they will send you a message telling you they surrender, if they're unable to continue for any reason. You do not have to wait for this if the time limit for replying to a battle has been exceeded by your opponent. The time limit for replying exists so that people's bios aren't held up in those battles, and generally speaking, they're only really used in official battles, like the ones in the NW. You can have official battles in the battle arena, though they're generally used for people who want to fight to earn kumi, as well as DNA for Edo Tensei bodies, hearts for Kakuzu, etc. Unofficial battles can't be used to earn kumi, or perform anything like what I just mentioned, so they're generally pretty chill.

Probably the best general advice I can give for you is to be patient. When asking sensei or mods for anything, like training or a check on a rank up submission, be polite and courteous. Don't spam them with messages, just say what you need to say, and wait for a reply. Same with other members really. You should also apply patience to any other activity in the RP. Custom checks may be slow, training replies may be slow, you may have to grind a lot of missions and fight a lot of people to accumulate lots of kumi, but persevering will carry you far in the RP.

Any other questions? If not, I'll take you through battling in my next post.

Apologies for taking so long, just started classes again.

Battling is done primarily in the Battle Arena, though you can also battle in the NW. I'll explain how battling works, and the differences between battling in the BA and the NW.

There are 3 basic rules that must always be followed in a battle, regardless of whether its in the NW or the BA: Jutsu Limit, Blocking and Avoiding Jutsu, and Timeframe. Fights are turn-based, meaning that each player gets one post to create a move, where their bio can act in any way they wish in order to attack an opponent or defend themselves, or create set up for future moves. Each player will continue to post their moves, responding to the actions and events outlined in the previous post(s) until one player is unable to continue (depleting their health, surrendering, etc). This is the way battles are conducted between two players, and I'll break down the three rules I mentioned and explain how they fit into and affect the system of battling. I'll also cover the system of Strengths and Weaknesses in the post after this, which is related to battles, but I wanna make sure you grasp the basics of battle first.

Jutsu Limit

The Jutsu Limit states that, in a single move, only 3 jutsu can be used. Jutsu which are activated passively do not count towards this limit, meaning that you can still use other jutsu to fulfill this limit. For example, Chakra Sensory can be activated passively after a certain period of having the ability, and thus it doesn't take up one of my 3 allotted jutsu to activate, allowing me to the other 3 jutsu slots how I please. As I mentioned before, battling is turn based, meaning you post your moves, and the opponent responds to your moves with theirs. Depending on how your opponent responds, not all of your jutsu will happen, as they may use jutsu that require you to perform a certain action in place of what you originally intended.

Blocking & Avoiding Jutsu

When responding to an opponent's jutsu, you have to cannot simply "block the attack". The method you use to block or avoid the attack must be specific, and must be done using a jutsu of your own. For example, my opponent uses the Great Fireball technique to attack me, I cannot just jump out of the way. This is called freeform movement, and would be considered invalid as a defence against someone attacking you. An example of a valid counter would be to utilise Earth Release: Enclosing Wall to create a wall that tanks the fireball, preventing it from reaching me. There are multiple means of defence, such as using Taijutsu techniques to dodge oncoming jutsu, provided that the movement would allow you to properly remove yourself from the danger.

Timeframe is a rule that dictates the order or sequence of events between each player's moves, and the flow of a battle. Put simply, the key rule of timeframe is that the first aggressive action of a move can only be reacted to after it has happened. This is important as it provides a basis for the chronology of the moves used, creating the timeframe of the battle. For example, a player grabs a kunai and throws it at the opponent at the start of their turn. The opponent can only respond to the kunai being thrown once it leaves the player's grasp, and they cannot do anything to interrupt that action before it completes. The same principle applies for jutsu. If player A releases a ball of lightning at an enemy, player B cannot respond by interrupting player A performing the jutsu, the lightning must be released before player B can counter it. Moulding chakra also initiates the fight, and like before, it cannot be interrupted. You can start acting from that point on, e.g. moulding chakra or taking a stance, but not in any way that would allow you to interrupt an opponent's first action.

You should also take note that the chronology of moves used strictly follows an ABABAB scheme. For example, player A releases a fireball at player B, player B responds by summoning a wall of water in front of him. Player B cannot use another jutsu until player A uses his second jutsu, as this breaks the ABABAB scheme. I'll demonstrate this with a brief example:

In their first move, player 1 utilises three jutsu:

Jutsu 1
Jutsu 2
Jutsu 3

In their first move, as a response to player 2's move, responds with these:

Jutsu A
Jutsu B
Jutsu C

The sequence of the jutsu being used would look like this:

Jutsu 1 (Player 1)
Jutsu A (Player 2)
Jutsu 2 (Player 1)
Jutsu B (Player 2)
Jutsu 3 (Player 1)
Jutsu C (Player 2)

In this example, player 2's first jutsu comes after player 1's first, player 1's second jutsu then comes after that. Player 2's second jutsu comes after player 1's second jutsu.

There are two exemptions to this. Passive jutsu don't take a slot in timeframe, meaning that they can be used at any point in time during the turn. Also, if you are fighting with a clone or a summoning animal, or any other entity which can use jutsu, you can both perform separate jutsu that both occupy the same slot in timeframe. For example, you create a shadow clone next to you, and you use a wind technique to attack an opponent while your clone uses a fire technique at the same time. This means that the timeframe would look like this:

Your Wind Technique / Clone's Fire Technique
Enemy Jutsu 1

If the performance of techniques by you and your clone isn't simultaneous, then the timeframe reverts to the ABABAB scheme:

Your Wind Technique
Enemy Jutsu 1
Clone's Fire Technique

Disagreements

If you have a problem your opponent's usage of a jutsu, first talk to them to resolve it. Do this in messages, not in the thread. If you can't come to an agreement, you are able to reach out to an Official Sensei to rule on the issue. Should your opponent disagree over the ruling, they are allowed one opportunity to contact a second Sensei to make a ruling. If these rulings differ, an RP Moderator will make a final decision. These rulings can only be done three (3) times a battle.

Official/Unofficial Battles

All battles held in the Battle Arena or Ninja World forums are, by default, official fights. That means these fights can be used for any and all official purposes such as Kumi Collection, Vessels, and more. Only when it was agreed at the start that it was just an unofficial spar, it doesn't count as an official battle, and this can only be done in the Battle Arena. Keep in mind that fights must be official for you to earn Kumi from them. Also, when fighting in the NW, you already have the terrain decided for you. In a BA fight, you are able to decide the conditions of the battle, where it happens (the terrain), the starting range of each player, what abilities can and can't be used (e.g. customs, certain elements, etc). and which bio you're using. These conditions must be agreed upon in order for the battle to begin. In an official fight in the BA, the bio you use for that fight can't be used anywhere else in the BA until that fight concludes.

Any questions before I continue?

OFFtopic : Apologise , been to late i forgot to put watch thread

Yes , seems like i understood few things about battle
1. So i kind of understand three basic rules i have to remember when fighting the opponents

a.Jutsu Limits : So it means i have to use Jutsu when is limited with in my bio if i am correct ? ( I am bit confused here so i can use so single move i can use all 3 jutsu ? So what if i use all 3 at same time in single post will i be using that again )

b. Blocking & Avoiding Jutsu : ok I cannot just basically cannot say "jump or hide behind the rock " . So you to use counter jutsu against the opponent from he example i understand Earth attack you described has ana bility to dodge incoming fire attack . Now here is the doubt can i obtain Nin , Gen , Tai at the same time with the players . should I get trained in Taijutsu or Genjutsu from official sensei again to obtain ? (I suppose Genin cannot obtain all these ranks at same point )

2. The Timeframe : What is limit when battle have to end and what happens to the players if they go mia in between the game ?

Also you mentioned passive jutsu does not need timeframe in the posts so are there other jutsus which have timeframe how can i differentiate both of it ?

Ok i see if i am going for official battles are there strict guidelines to fights like for example

I have seen players using : official: LOK R&R / Rei R &R (Did Rei / LoK impleented standard rules ?)
Range : Short/ Mid-range /long ( When should i use this ? Is this the player wish )
I have to link the bio ( I understand this one i guess )

3. Some of the RP battle i have seen players subtracting Chakra (So i lose some part of it when i summon ?)

1. a. Yes, the jutsu you can use are limited to the skills you have on your bio. For example, an Genin rank bio that can use Fire, Water and Wind, and Taijutsu and Kenjutsu, can use any B-Rank and below jutsu from these fields to make a move. A move refers to the entire post, and is made up of move slots, which you fill up by using techniques, and you get to use 3.

b. Yes, that's correct about using the jutsu to dodge. Also, when you reach Chunin Rank, you're able to have all 4 of the Basic Skills, Ninjutsu, Genjutsu, Kenjutsu and Taijutsu. If you're Genin though, you can only choose 2 of these for your bio. Basic Elements and Skills don't require training to get, you automatically have them once you reach a certain rank. For example, if I choose to have Genjutsu and Taijutsu on my Genin rank bio, I can use up to B-Rank jutsu from those skills. Training is required only for fields outside of the Basics, like Sharingan or Fuinjutsu.

2. There is no time limit on a fight, in the sense of how long a fight can go before it ends automatically. When we talk about time limits on a fight, it means the time each person has to reply to the fight before they lose by default. The normal time limit to reply for any fight, unless each person agrees to a different one, is 3 days. If you aren't able to reply before the time limit, then you lose.

Passive jutsu don't count towards the 3 jutsu limit you have for every move. That's what it means when it says it doesn't take a slot in the timeframe. Say for example, I use the Great Fireball technique, which takes the first slot in timeframe. After using the fireball, I activate my sensory passively. I'm able to activate sensory and still use 2 other jutsu, since sensory doesn't count as one of the 3 jutsu.

Yeah, they did. LoK/Rei's R&R are the basic battle rules that I briefly touched on, you can read them in greater detail here: [x].

3. Most jutsu require chakra to perform, and when using a technique, if there is a stated chakra value, you must subtract it from the chakra you have available.

Thanks ,

I have now understood the battle rules and jutsu limit very well.

Also in the battle rule thread in 8 th point below , LOk states this line "meaning if you lose , your bio can be used as Human puppet by a sasori bio, having your heart ripped out by kakuzu bio , used for edo tensai "

Yeah, so there are certain bios with special abilities that require obtaining material from other bios. For example, Sasori can turn any bio it beats into a human puppet, Kakuzu can take hearts from other bios to use the advanced element it has. The battle has to be official for them to take materials though, so if its unofficial, they can't do that.
