It's true that the Sh's don't kill their enemies, but there are enough pirates and marines who do.
Some flashbacks consist of utter genocide. And some of the villains are the most sadastic bastard u can come across.
And Luffy aint exactly a saint either, he stole and robbed people from young age. He broke in the worlds most dangerous prison and released a lot of murderous monsters. Luffy def has no problem to temporarily throw away his morals to reach his goal.
Oda even explained why Luffy never kills his opponents."In the world of One Piece conviction means everythings. When Luffy crushes his opponents, he does not only defeat them but crushes their believes as well, which is worse than death". something among those lines.

They had all the power and wealth before Luffy comes and knock them down.

It's easy for a writer to kill a character, it's harder to keep them alive and keep them interesting.

The comedy was pretty good, and there's nice build up for the fights to
happen, but the villains never died(to my knowledge).


Feels like it lacks any real resolution aside from the guys "defeated"

3)U r delusional when u say villains will simply comeback. No they wont come back. Marines come and take them to Impel down. Besides they understand they cannot beat luffy so they drop the idea to takeover the country or isle once again.

4)Howcome most of the people forgot that Vergo died in Punk Hazard Arc(so there is your answer villains also dies in OP)

5)Another thing OP do justice with villains unlike Naruto where villains simply gets talk no jutsu and suddenly becomes good guys(Nagato, Obito, Sasuke) Luffy beat the hell out of them

one of the main reasons that the main character doesn’t kill people is because his dream is to become the strongest. that to him means that if your after the same goal as him when he beats you he crushes your dreams just like if you beat him. you would be crushing his. thats why during fights he has said that he would rather die then give up fighting.
i get what your saying and most mangas to get published don't go on a crazy killing spree if gear toward some audiences. like naruto bleach one piece all in jump all PG. i like the action like bleach ichigo kenpachi fight (sorry spelt wrong) or naruto going 4 tails on Oro. but both those fights both lived. now gatz in bazerk decapitating 3 horses and cutting their riders in half . is rated R and for adult so if you find ones with a good story please let me know cuase i want some action. to fill in while waiting years for luffy to find one peice.

Thats one of the downsides to One Piece for sure but then again you're the same guy who read Naruto, which was a show where all "villains" either turned good or were forgiven. Where a guy who slaughtered the MC's parents, village, and caused a world war was called "the coolest guy" by the MC himself...so I don't really think you should be complaining if you sat through 700 chapters of that.

Imo you should continue. The good guys not killing the bad guys shouldn't even be a complaint. If you dropped it then you don't deserve to see what happens next but if you continue you will be rewarded for it and regret you ever spoke bad about the series, that's all I gotta say.

Read Kingdom, it's a seinen manga, the main character will remind you of pre-timeskip Naruto and Natsu before both of them got weird/annoying. The series is manly af and it doesn't hold back on the killing and violence.
