[Predictions] One Piece Manga Chapter 788 Discussion and 789 Predictions

In all honesty, the chapter was pretty meh IMO. Nothing really special in particular. However, it's still nice to see almost everybody doing something to help out while Luffy is recovering.

I give it a 2.9/5

so that means admirals can't do everything

And I'm not sure whether this has been confirmed before or not, but where both Kinemon and Kanjuro using CoA on the cage? Either way nice chapter, nothing much happened, but at least it seems next chapter the 10 minutes will be over.

It definitely looked like they all three had their own spot pushing back the cage with black weapons.

I wonder if Law is going to pull his 'special' move off to bring Luffy back. Because why else would he come back in this state to help out, and was all of that introduced in this arc.

Also at all the whino's in this thread. This is a crucial explaining chapter, you can't skip it because otherwise 20 chapters from now you will start whining about plotholes in dressrosa because it didn't made any sense why Mansherry or Fujitora didn't help. The *****ing on Fujitora started last week already, so just give Oda all the chapters he needs to, in order to wrap the arc up. It's pretty obvious that this arc won't take more than 5 chapters to be over so just chill out, this is just part of telling a good story.

Its nice to see that the admiral is finally doing something, if he had gone the entire fight without doing anything to help stop the bird cage I would have faced palmed at it.

So what is Law going to do, either buy more time for Luffy, or help accelerate Luffy's recovery time.

I have a hard time seeing him do much to slow Doflamingo down, but they do only need one more minute.

But Ussop's,"God is angry," line made the chapter.

Doflamingo looks MAD, Luffy must have really hurt his pride during their fight.

Still not a terrible chapter, just a little slow.

Well that was an OK chapter though I am a bit unhappy with an Admiral not having a counter for BC. I understand that the arc needs wrapping up and it wouldn't work to destroy the climax that BC brings into the conclusion so Fuji can't just go "away with thee evil cage" but damn it an admiral needs to not be put in such a position though better Fuji who has a soft side that Akainu and anyways with how Fuji got into this deceived of Dofla's resignation he has a very good excuse.

I wanted to see whats up with Sabo and Burgess but guess that will have to wait till after DD gets done in.

Its one of those chapters that you knew was coming and is kind of needed to tie everything together but kinda sucks cause we have to wait another week lol

I'm inclined to think that Fujitora isn't using his gravity because there are too many people in such a tight spot and it would be a risk. If he pushes one side of the cage with gravity, the other side would just come in faster. Maybe he could crush/flatten the entire thing with his gravity but that would be risk harming everyone. All I know is that the birdcage has the biggest plot armor this arc XD

Viola was cool this chapter and so was Usopp. It's confirmed that Kinemon/Kanjuro have CoA. It's good to see that Law will still put up a fight or at least prolong this.

In the chapter where zoro defeated pica who said a chant that across the seas and oceans there is nothing he can't cut so why don't he cut down the birdcage instead of trying to push it back. I'm sure the birdcage isn't indestructible. It's only made of strings after all

I think it's probably bad writing or extra extension or just that it's a show case that Doffy is just on a whole new level we never thought of...

Also, Fuji helping for the people's cause... Why can't he just finish off Doffy to end this nightmare...? He can take on Doffy??? Right?

As I said before on the last chapters discussion that's what happens when u just throw in characters in an arc without a clear cut reason, I was actually happy when fujitora decided to fight back the birdcage at this rate and then I saw him trying to push it back, that's what happens when u just dont know what to do with the admiral and for the sake of it u throw him in the fodder group on pushing back an birdcage, now ur going to have to endure the Dfolamingo wank for weeks now.

An admiral isnt able to do jack shit to birdcage, I repeat an admiral cant do jack shit to BIRDCAGE! I literally rest my case, terrible writing 1/5 chapter.

He was able to draw a meteor to the island without effecting everyone on it, so I doubt there is any issue of people being to close.

The author simply wanted to do it this way.

Eleven more chapters and the number of chapters in this arc will be in the hundreds. I still don't see why people are complaining, though. It's a turning point in the story - the story as a whole, that is. After this arc, and probably for the rest of the series, things will no longer be child's play for the crew. They're entering the big league now.

Leave Fujitora aside, with the number of the colosseum fighters up and having Zoro almost fit for battle + Cavendish all of these guys banging would be enough on screwing Doflamingo who cant stand straight in his legs without trembling due to injures.

Back on the first part during Alabasta or EL Luffy had to fight the main guy just because there was no one around strong enough to do that, but now we have a top-tier and a bunch of high tiers who prefer to stand around pushing instead of ganging up on doflamingo, its just forced drama and its sad how bad was the executing of this arc, disappointing.

Regardless of the fact this is an ability of Doflamingo more importantly it's also a power that stems from a DF. Anyone who would have eaten the ito ito and would be able the cast birdcage would have strings of the same strength. Is it so hard to believe a power which originated from a df (a mysterious fruit everyone in the op world looks for) would be unbreakable? What does it matter anyway when there are clearly roundabout ways to stop it such as knocking out the user.
