I wonder what gear 4 will be like

Gear 4th I'm hoping is him in gear second but with full body Haki (like vergo).

So a iron Black Luffy with steam leaking out of him. It would be badass.

Hopefully by Gear 5, Luffy can transform into a giant.

Epic chapter. 5/5.

This chapter made me admire Law's character even more. He has lived his whole life wanting to kill Doffy, the man he detests so much for killing someone he dearly loved. Yet, Law is letting his friend, Luffy, finish the job. He has acknowledged his own limits (that he has done everything he can to bring Doffy down), and he has accepted responsibility for dragging his friends into this mess and is willing to die with them. You can't get anymore selfess than that.

Cavendish alone gets a 10/10 from me! I knew i wasn't wrong by saying he's the best character introduced in this arc.

Of course oda goes on a break next week, god this is ridiculous. If that ain't trolling, I don't know what is... At this point, the series should just be renamed to "One Hiatus after another" (shots fired to togashi as well).

I never was a fan of a new Gear tbh.. It wil take down the relevance of Gears 1&2 in the future against high level opponents.
I was hoping for expansion on CoC powers tbh, not some new suicide technique (most likely)
Hope Luffy learns more about his weaknesses from this. Doflamingo is practically tellling them right in his face.
4.5/5 chapter for me. Now begins the wait

5/5 chapter for me.

The fight scene between Doffy and Luffy was rather entertaining, especially since it was awaited for so long. I was confused at some points, but I got it down. I like how Oda made a point to reinsure the drawbacks of both Gear 2 and 3, and they aren't perfect powerups. I am somewhat disappointed in a Gear 4 though. Like Love Cook said, it feels too much like the whole Super Saiyan thing. I'd much rather Luffy get stronger with Gear 2 and 3 rather than continuous boosts. It'd be pretty awesome if Gear 4 was like Gear 2 and 3 with Haoshoku Haki enhancing them in some way.

This chapter pretty much shot down all the "Gamma Knife didn't contribute" thing. Glad to see Oda making it clear that this was a team effort.

Love the touches on Law and Cavendish's integrity in this one.

I doubt Oda is the one taking the break, but it is irritating to have a break again.

OK, some quick thoughts:

• Cabbage to the rescue! I will admit that he was pretty cool in this chapter with him being the honorable guy and all.
• Seeing Law's speech about seeing Luffy defeating Doffy was very touching. ;_;
• Robin......well the less I say about her, the better. -_-
• **** you, Doffy. **** you and your evil ass. -_-
• I really like the call back to the Alabasta arc.
• GEAR FOUR COMING SOON!!!!!

Overall, this chapter was fairly good.

Well in g2 hes too weak and in g3 hes too slow which probably means that g4 is g2 speed + g3 power but he cant get that power by balooning up (because he would again be too slow) so how will he do it?

- We haven't seen Robin talk that much in a long time, was nice to see XD
- Cavendish had some nice development, him handing over his coat was kinda cute
-Barto was still fangasming over Zoro, whats going to happen to him after Luffy beats Doffy?
-Zoro seems so nonchalant, I wish he had some dialogue talking about luffy.

This doesn't even make any sense =/ All these gears ARE Luffy's skills. He just calls them gears because they can be classified differently from his regular techs because they can be used in conjunction with those techs. With other words they have a supportive role. For example he has his regular "Pistol" attack, then he has with Gear 2nd "Jet Pistol" and with Gear 3rd "Giant Pistol", but in essence all these Gears are still very well techs and both of these Gears have been explained as how they work. So I really don't understand why so many people are whining about it and comparing it to Super Saiyans and Naruto and act like it's some kind of hack despite them being completely different and perfectly genuine techs.

Apparently if he would have just named them something like Gomu Gomu no Jet and Gomu Gomu no Giant instead of Gear 2nd and 3rd, there wouldn't have been any issues =/

Also Doflamingo pointed out the flaws in some of Luffy's techs, not any lack of them.
