[Discussion] oda taking too many breaks?

Is oda taking too many breaks?
I think hell yes he is.
In the last year its like anytime anything is going to happen he takes a break.
then 1st manga back its good but the next one has a big action or plot point.
do you think has thought out his whole story line or
just main points towards the ending with the rest to be filled as he goes

It's been a long time since he last took a break. 2 months I think ,or even more.

do you realise how long oda has been working on one piece? its about 17 years that he's been working on it and that is drawing and writing non stop, thats bound to take its toll on anyone so please forgive oda for having some breaks every now and again

One Piece is the most content packed weekly manga I read, every single nook and cranny is completely filled while most other manga just leave it white or black (or random lines) or go with panels stretching over almost the entire page

We have a right to work and leisure. Making manga is hard. Let him take breaks.

Be thankfully because he doesn't have to do this at all. With his art skills and story skills he could be writing books are making art for people instead or be an art teacher or some shit

Oda is a person and is entitled to breaks. Not only that, but sometimes, the breaks aren't up to him, but have to do with Shonen Jump. I think yes, some of the breaks once in a blue moon are unnecessary, like when they had a break because Oda went to Thailand, and while I may mention it doesn't make sense, I'm not gonna let it cause negative feelings towards Oda or Shonen Jump.

Oda went there for a week, if shonen released the chapter, his schedule would go behind one week and eventually he would have to take a break to catch up with his schedule.
If he was going for a day or two, then maybe it wont make sense.

Oda went there for a week, if shonen released the chapter, his schedule would go behind one week and eventually he would have to take a break to catch up with his schedule.
If he was going for a day or two, then maybe it wont make sense.

It makes no sense to me because they have 6 One Piece chapters ahead of what they release. When they release 750, they have 756 on their desk and Oda is working on 757. For something like Oda going to Thailand(Or was it Taiwan?), they can still release the chapter because Oda doesn't have to actually be there at Shonen Jump for them to publish a chapter. If Oda is sick, they can afford to do 1-2 chapters before they need a break.
