BlackBeard's plans and goals might have him going against Akainu or other Admirals later on down the road, so he could easily be implying that he's just not ready for that part of his plan to come into play yet..

Not once does he say he's "scared to fight Akainu" or that he's "not strong enough".. he's just saying he doesn't want to go for that at the moment..

BlackBeard had no problem fighting any Admiral (Akainu included) during Marineford.. it wasn't until Shanks showed up that Teach decided to leave..

I can understand if Blackbeard couldn't 1v1 Akainu, but his entire crew, c'mon. We're talking four level-6 inmates, Shiryu and Blackbeard himself including the other guys like Auger and Laffitte who all seem pretty strong. No way a single Admiral was beating all of that.

That is not for you to decide, besides the fact there are multiple translations and interpretations of that line you can't definitely say based on that one sentence if Blackbeard was ready or not for a fight with Akainu.

All you can say about it is that he didn't want to risk a fight only to obtain a ship.

I know I'm an akainu fan, but I too doubt he could take on the whole crew.. But, he can fight for 10 days straight if it came down too it, because no one in bbs crew has the power to ko him. And he can turn at least up to half an island into a volcanic field, which I don't really see how any of the members of bbs crew can do anything to save their ass from that, besides Lafitte flying I guess.

And the size of an island in op is... absurd.. Tbh I don't see how blackbeards crew would win. I can only imagined what akainu did to do that in the first place. Can any of them even get close to akainu without getting burned?

You're right, we can't say that Teach himself going "I'm not ready for that" in response to Ogre saying "Akainu is here" is him saying he's not ready for Akainu. Makes perfect sense.

All you can say about it is that he didn't want to risk a fight only to obtain a ship.

The fact that he didn't take the risk despite the importance of having a ship shows how much stronger Akainu was.

And to the people talking about how Akainu couldn't possibly fight them all at once, Teach told his crew to sit out the fight with Ace for the same reason, noting that Ace would defeat them if they tried to join the fight, even all at once, and Akainu is vastly superior to Ace. It is absolutely possible.

What are you talking about? I don't care what the anime says about anything since that's an adaptation. The only thing above the official translation of the manga is the Japanese text.

I believe you misread my post. I said FOUR Level-6 inmates as in 4 inmates from Level 6 of Impel Down.
Even so, you should have known, that's common knowledge in the one piece community, unless you're new to the series and haven't reached the end of Marineford arc.

After Auger warned him Akainu was on the ship, Blackbeard explicitly says "I'm not ready to take on a guy like that," and told his crew they needed to run. The fact that Blackbeard decided to run with his crew available to help him is an admission that he and his crew, together, could not defeat Akainu.

Ehh you might be right.. I need to go look at the Manga scan to be sure. Just because they made it such a huge deal akainu and aokiji did that which wouldn't make since if blackbeard already had. But what you showed me looks like it, could be the anime exaggerating it, they tend to do that, except for wb vs akainu.
