1. Obito did start the war because of Rin, that was killed in the war.
2. But as time goes by, he had changed his focus, using Madara plan to become his plan.

Fact:
1. To fight this War, the 5 Hidden Village combine to become One Shinobi Army.
2. Firstly, The War was just about protecting both 8-tailed & 9-tailed beast.
3. BUT, in the war, this War has change it focus. "Protect Everyone"

1. Obito activated his single sharingan eye (+ Kamui) when his loved one, Rin, die at that moment.
2. Obito was not angry of Kakashi, knowing being as teammates. Why did not Obito killed Kakashi.
3. Obito was very angry of the War. Hijack Madara plan.
4. Obito in the state of confusion, hence from that moment, he had to trust Madara. (But not really)
