Obito stated it himself that he didn't start this for Rin , so why create a pointless thread ?

You proved what? A crybaby shout it wasnt about Rin, yet failed to disclose what the real reason is.
Kish himself obviously couldnt think of another reason or this would have been stated.
Scans show that his motive follows the death of Rin, even in the last chapter we see him soaking about her. Face it, Rin was all he had and all he wanted, once this was taken everything else faded away. As Ive stated before is emotional, which is his weakness, we see this from the moment he was young to now

There is a difference between reason of something and the trigger for something. From Rin's death he basically saw the corruption , but just had a bad way of going about things.
His reasons : Corruption. He had already stopped caring for this corrupt world, where kids were forcefully made jinchurikis. (Something the Shodai tried to get rid of)..
Kabuto's trigger is him killing his "mom"
Madara's trigger is the death of his brother and not being hokage.
Sasuke's trigger was the death of his brother.
Naruto's trigger is the death of Jiraiya.
Hashirama's trigger is the death of his brothers.
But are those their reasons for what they are doing? no... simply their motivators or what pushed them into what they are currently doing.

Again Kishi bluntly stated it wasn't about rin.
Obito's reason's go further than Rin or even kakashi. After witnessing Rin's death, His perspective of The world changed in a flash of a second when he saw one of the most precious people in his life killing his his other precious person in cold blood all because of the Ninja system and the shinobi ways.
After he witnessed that incident, he wanted to change the fate of the world and Create a place where peace exist for everyone.
If he wanted to be with only rin, again he could of attached himself to gedo mazou and lived in a dream by himself there, but he did not because hes looking for greater peace.
Hes doing more than a hokage should be doing, He going up and above a hokage and taking matters into his own hands in order to bring peace, Even madara has the same goal.

@Bold is where the contradictions in Obito's talk come from against Naruto.
A HOKAGE is the leader of 1 nation true. However, the original Hokage (the first), was also beyond the "normal role" of a Hokage.
Hence why Naruto goes on to explain to him what a Hokage is.
