I've been thinking this ever since I saw him wield that weapon. I see a lot of people claiming he's trash compared to the real So6P (without any evidence to back up...) but, do you really think so?...
It seems to be that Kishi, like someone else said, is pulling off a Code Geass, Obito is actually saving the world by uniting everyone... against him. Let's see at some evidence, shall we?

2. The weapon
Now, where did Obito find that weapon he's wielding right now? That's the Sage's personal weapon. Was the Juubi carrying it along with him as a souvenir of some sort? If so, why didn't the Juubi also keep the other five tools?..
This weapon is not one of the Juubi's "chakra rods", it's clearly got a few hidden powers of its own, able to effortlessly destroy Minato's kunai. When did Obito get it?
3. Obito / Rikudo's belief in balance
Rikudo is often depicted as "good", but is he really? There's no evidence suggesting he was either "good" or "evil".
Actually, for as much as we know, he actually believes in balance, equilibrium. He divided his power into ying and yang when he could've either created only ying or only yang.
It's essentially the Buddhist believe in balance and moderation, the of the
Good requires evil, evil requires good, you know the story.
Obito is bringing peace through war. He doesn't care if it's ethical, if it's correct or just to everyone, what matters to Obito/Rikudo is that there is balance. This is the attitude he's displayed since the start, the belief that you need to break an egg before making an omelette. That trait of personality is shown for example when he asks Kabuto to explain Edo Tensei and kills one of his hostages:

The way he stands between the two hostages as a God who decides their fate reminds us of Rikudo holding Ying and Yang in each hand.
4. Obito's true power
To people claiming he's nothing compared to Rikudo... hold on son. Nagato alone could use a part of the Sage's power. When Madara, who is a lot stronger, was pulling meteors off his ass, people were claiming he had partly mastered Rikudo's power, which is also true.
Now Obito currently fodderises Hashirama and Madara any day of the week. Even in his uncontrolled form, he got through Hashirama and Tobirama as if they were mere fodder shinobi. The only reason Naruto is still alive is that Minato is protecting him with Kishiton: Plot no Jutsu.
And it's not just physical strength, he's outsmarted Madara a few times, blackmailing him and now trolling him with fake Rinne Tensei. Who else in this series can troll Madara?...
Accept it or not Obito is very well on Rikudo's level at this moment.
5. Obito's natural affinity for the Juubi
Obito was made to be the Juubi's Jinchuuriki, I had already made a thread about this. The scene when he kills the Mist Shinobi hints this. View Zetsu's comment:

6. Infinite Tsukuyomi is a bluff
The way Obito is right now, he could just stand there and cast Infinite Tsukuyomi right now and end the series. Even if it takes an hour to cast. There's no jutsu that can harm him at the moment, he just regenerates much like Majin Buu. Besides, he does have a very large arsenal of jutsu from his new abilities to Chibaku Tensei to defend himself if need be.
So why isn't he casting Infinite Tsukuyomi?
The answer is, it's not his plan to begin with. He's pushing everyone to their limits and uniting them, that's his only purpose. There's a thousand ways he could've killed Naruto and Sasuke already, his jutsu can be thrown.
7. Madara's statement
Best evidence there is. Thanks for submitting this in the thread.
All this leads me to think that Obito is either the true reincarnation of the So6P, or he's the actual So6P himself.
Leaving Naruto to either be a successor, or a reincarnation of one of his sons.
