To anybody with eyes this is not a surprise but Sasuke's the glue that holds this manga together.

This is a fact confirmed by Kishi

Sasuke is tied to every main protagonist/villain's story and without him, there is no story. He's far more important than Naruto will ever be to his own manga and this all confirmed by Kishi. Let's evaluate this.

Naruto- His goal is to surpass/save Sasuke, so much so that his supposed "main" goal of becoming Hokage became nothing short of a sidequest until he saved Sasuke

Sakura- Goal was to make Sasuke her man/save Sasuke. Her goals were framed entirely around Sasuke.

Orochimaru- Goal was framed around Sasuke also, taking his body and overseeing his progress as a ninja. Naruto was an afterthought to the main villain of his time.

Obito- Naruto was again an afterthought in the eyes of another big villain, Sasuke was his main focus. To Obito, inside Naruto resided 1/9 of a power that was needed to accomplish bigger things. Nothing more. In fact, this all the entire Akatsuki's relationship was with Naruto. They didn't care about him per say, just the beast inside of him. Kurama could have had a different host and their attachment to him wouldn't exist, whereas Akatsuki were monitoring Sasuke since part 1 and Obito had vested interests in him.

Itachi- For obvious reasons, Itachi's story was tied more to Sasuke than Naruto.

Then we assess every arc that is related to Sasuke:

Land of waves- Naruto improves as a ninja because he's driven by Sasuke's superiority to him. Develops a one-sided rivalry with Sasuke

Chunin exams- All about Sakura and Naruto developing bonds with Sasuke. Meanwhile, Sasuke has his own thing going on in the form of Orochimaru, the sound nin, Gaara. Naruto and Sakura get their development from their ties with Sasuke, Sasuke's story progresses with or without them.

Sasuke retrieval arc- Again, all about Sasuke.

Early part 2 is all about retrieving Sasuke again. Mid part 2 is about Naruto acquiring skills to be able to retrieve Sasuke sucessfully. Meanwhile, Sasuke's development doesn't require Naruto, his mid part 2 goals are about aquiring power by killing Orochimaru to kill Itachi and then destroying the leaf after Itachi's death.

Late part 2 is still about Naruto "saving" Sasuke whereas Sasuke's development is again not heavily tied to Naruto.

Part 2 even ends with the conclusion of Sasuke's story, with Naruto acting as nothing but a sideshow in his own manga. Even the narration was handled by Sasuke. :eek:uttahere:

I don't really care about this topic, but one thing I do know is that I'd rather stick a rabid chipmunk up my anus than look at your sig again.

Fail. 99.9% of what you said is wishful thinking and raw delusion. :lmao:
Don't you think that's enough fapping for fictional character in one day?

Naruto is the child of Prophecy(his existence has been predicted for ages) and that alone wrecks this entire thread.

Manga wise, it wasn't Sasuke that saved it, rather it was rivalry. Replace Sasuke with Neji and the story would continue just fine as long as there was rivalry. This is true, because someone advised to Kishi that the 'Main' character Naruto should have a rival.

The whole Naruto manga revolved around the Uchiha's backstory in part 2....Well once Sasuke left it did. All the final villains was Uchiha(excluding Kaguya) and Naruto's goal was to get Sasuke to consider him an equal and get him back to konoha. Naruto and Sasuke are both MC's.

This is true. The story was centered largely around Sasuke's clan. Naruto's clan barely got mentioned

Sasuke sort of was the true main character in p1. Everything about it was centered around him p2 was also a great deal about Sasuke and his clan. But it evens out with narutos story about saving his friend and becoming hokage

Eh. I like to think that there were important instances reflecting on Naruto's backstory, rather than his Clan. Which wasn't even real until like the last few arcs of Part 2.

Naruto's main backstory resonance came from the Kyuubi attack, and his own persona demon (literally). Which connected to Obito/Madara, and his parents which were revealed later into the story.

The Uchiha Clain were the most important pieces to the story from start to finish. Although it looks like the Otsutsuki took their spot, but at least Sasuke and his daughter remain main characters as the story continues. I just doubt that the 'Uchiha Clan' as a whole ill be important ever again. Especially since all of the antagonists which were them, have died.

This is such a stupid argument, do you know how a narrative works?

Sasuke didn't exist before the manga, the manga created Sasuke. It could just as easily create another device to exhibit the themes and main conflict of the series.

Technically Sasuke doesn't really embody any of the manga's main themes, only he and Naruto's rivalry/brother subplot which is really unrelated. Villains like Pain, Obito and Madara with different peace ideologies are what really made the manga what it is.

No villain, no conflict? Well obviously? But that goes for every story ever.

So you're saying Sasuke didn't have his own ideology going into a fight with Naruto. Bullshit
