Nintendo FC!
Welcome to NB's official Nintendo FC!

Nintendo is a world-wide known name. Let?s face it; Nintendo has some of the best games ever made, as well as some of the best consoles. We?ve probably all played at least one Nintendo game in our life. Nintendo was founded as a card company in late 1889, originally named "Nintendo Koppai". Based in Kyoto, Japan, the business produced and marketed a playing card game called Hanafuda. Eventually, they began developing game consoles and games, which is what made them most famous.

Who hasn?t heard of this plumber? Mario has made his way into every Nintendo Console and is probably one of the most loved and well known video game characters out there. While most games revolve around Mario, there have been several spin-offs for Luigi, Princess Peach, Donkey Kong, Wario and Yoshi. Mario serves as Nintendo?s official mascot. Mario has appeared in over 200 video games since his creation. Though originally only appearing in platform games, starting with Donkey Kong, Mario currently appears in video game genres such as racing, puzzle, role-playing, fighting, and sports. Mario games, as a whole, have sold more than 210 million units. He has also inspired television shows, film, comics, and a line of licensed merchandise.

There are too many Mario games to list, so check out the official list here.

The series centers on Link, the main playable character and protagonist. Link is often given the task of rescuing Princess Zelda and the most common setting of the series, Hyrule, from Ganondorf, also known as Ganon who is the primary antagonist of the series. The story commonly involves a relic known as the Triforce, a set of three golden triangles of omnipotence. The protagonist in each game is usually not the same incarnation of Link, but a few exceptions do exist. The Legend of Zelda series has sold over 57 million copies since the release of the first game, The Legend of Zelda. Another one of the most well-known and loved Nintendo series, Zelda combines elements of action, adventure, puzzle solving and role-playing. Zelda characters have also made other appearances in the Smash Bros. series.

As of 2008, the Metroid series consists of ten games spanning most Nintendo consoles, from the Nintendo Entertainment System to the Wii. It is one of Nintendo's most successful franchises with 16 million games sold, and all of the Metroid games have received some level of critical acclaim. The Fire Emblem series is well-known for its innovation and for being one of the first Eastern style tactical role-playing games, with a strong emphasis on Western forms of medieval folklore. Most games in the series have been released exclusively in Japan. The first Fire Emblem to be released world-wide was Fire Emblem(the 7th title in the series) in 2003, due to the popularity of characters? Marth and Roy appearances in Super Smash Bros. Meele. All Fire Emblem games produced since have also been released internationally. Marth, Ike and Roy appear as playable character in certain Super Smash Bros. games, while other Fire Emblem characters appear as collectible stickers in Super Smash Bros. Brawl.

Super Smash Bros.

The game features many characters from Nintendo's most popular games, like Mario, Fox, Link, Kirby, Samus Aran and Pikachu. The original Super Smash Bros. had 12 characters, and the number rose to 25 characters in Melee and 35 in Brawl. Some characters are able to transform into different forms that have different styles of play and sets of moves. The games also feature non-playable Nintendo characters, like Ridley and Petey Piranha. In Brawl, two third party characters were added, Solid Snake and Sonic the Hedgehog. The series consist of 3 games, Super Smash Bros. Super Smash Bros. Melee, and Super Smash Bros. Brawl. The Super Smash Bros. series is a dramatic departure from many fighting games. Instead of winning by depleting an opponent's life bar, Smash Bros players seek to knock opposing characters off the stage.

Pokemon

The original Pok?mon games were Japanese role-playing games (RPGs) with an element of strategy, and were created by Satoshi Tajiri for the Game Boy. These role-playing games, and their sequels, remakes, and English language translations, are still considered the "main" Pok?mon games, and the games with which most fans of the series are familiar. Games are commonly released in pairs—each with slight variations—and then an enhanced remake of the games is released a few years from the original release. In the Super Smash Bros. series, Pikachu, Ivysaur, Squirtle, Charizard, Jigglypuff, Pichu, Mewtwo and Lucario are playable characters.
