I'd say Yamato, during the village reconstruction he has become known and his strength is impressive. He controls tailed beast, is skilled in combat tec. knowledge and he was anbu. Being ANBU he know's Hokage duties, I don't think Shikaku has been ANBU. Shikkaku would def come up. I feel like a lot of the ANBU are stronger with hidden tech though. We don't know anything about a lot of Konoha's ninja.

A. He's still alive and just captured, B. You should read the thread anyone who is not pronounced dead is assumed alive. Yamato is alive right now thus we assume he gets rescued

Im just saying here lots of you say shikaku but shikaku himself said he was to old for the job so i think he would decline to but yes im agreeing with hokagekid if he would accept he would be the best at the position untill naruto goes for the throne

Yamato has not yet been confirmed dead, and as I said earlier in the thread, anybody who is not confirmed dead, is a possibility...

I would definitely have to say Shikaku. He has a near perfect IQ and with that reason alone (as we have seen with Shikimaru) makes him a formidable opponent to most in battle. He's level headed and calm and would make a great Hokage. Gai is a fighter, a body guard, not a diplomat xd. Not always is the Hokage the strongest in the village, though that is what they should be in theory. Naruto is stronger then Tsunade and most in these forums believe Kakashi could give her a run for her money. Ideally I'd pick Naruto and if he wasn't ready yet then Kakashi. People already explained the loopholes in the idea of a Hyuga or Uchiha becoming Hokage :shrug:, though Hinata's Dad would make a great Hokage. Shikaku has the knowledge, strength, and diplomacy skill to run the Leaf village and keep it prosperous.

Plus people would like him since he has the DNA of the first hokage?..

This is assuming he hasnt been killed in the war, coz i know Madara kinda has him right now.
