I was also one of the people that hated anime and always said wtf it is hentai. Than I started watching Naruto and death note and boom Iove it
Well to be honest tv shows, cartoons, comic books, movies, and films can offer the same lessons and experimces as you get with anime. In my experience the combination of them all generally speaking do it better since there is a much bigger variety of them and ways to do it that affect you on a deeper level.Exactly people can't even see how anime is actually good for society. It expresses the values of morals, individualism, teamwork, love, hate etc etc. It's a lot better than watching wtf the Kardashians, flavor flave and all that reality bs. Anime is enlightening and it opens your eyes to the possibilities. I wish we could shutdown half the bs played on America tv and put more anime shows on it.
Nothing more to read here Exaar nailed it /threadPeople claim to hate it in public but in secret they love it
So true XD Dem ladies do like to cos play and a dude who isn't afraid to do that with them...well ends up with them.I watched more anime than anybody that I've personally known and i still get more bxtches. The jokes on them really and they're missing out.
I mean we are the anime community. Wouldn't it be normal for people who love anime to put it over other forms of entertainment? The anime fandom only shows it's true numbers online and during comic con events. TBH I think the anime fandom is bigger than a lot of people realize. The first college I went to all of the guys there were into playing the naruto game and they weren't weaboos like everyone stereotypes them to be. Regular, everyday people who go to college, parties and hangout social people and they love Naruto (probably not as much as me) but still.Well to be honest tv shows, cartoons, comic books, movies, and films can offer the same lessons and experimces as you get with anime. I understand what you are saying but way to often in the anime community is anime overblown as the ultimate medium of entertainment.
There are just as many bad anime as there are bad cartons movies, games, comic books ECT. Though due to the environment of the anime community, that is heavily influenced by the fact that anime is from a foreign country so the ones whom would be best at understanding and analyzing it aren't around. It becomes over glorified by the fans due to there experience of it which comvinces them to belive anime is some diamond amongst valueless rocks in the entertainment medium.
You bring up a really good point. In fact. What a number of people don't realize is shows like the Simpsons/family guy/ Venture Bros etc were made possible because of the more adult targeted audience from eastern influences. They don't see cartoons/anime as somethings solely for kids. That idea influenced western animation which use to solely target kids. Western culture saw a market in this and tailored western cartoons for a more mature audience over time. Even the shows designed for kids these days possess an element of adult humor as a result. From a marketing standpoint, eastern culture knew what they were doing.I mean we are the anime community. Wouldn't it be normal for people who love anime to put it over other forms of entertainment? Now I can agree with this point of view and I do agree. Anime can be a lot like independant films...you have to weed through a ton of crap to find the few diamonds in the rough.Well, I have to say that the "hype-trains" of some anime like Attack on Titan, Tokyo Ghoul and lately One Punch Man are really annoying. Like KingForever7 said, social media and sites like Tumblr are full of it. But that is not limited to anime. All hype can be very annoying, for example these super-hero movies that are literally everywhere currently.
Besides that, a lot of anime are trash. Squeaky voices and sexualized women (even young girls) are not something that is enjoying to watch, at least for people who are not some horny male teens. So there is a high chance that people only see these low-quality anime.. or they see extremely ugly stuff like most of the "Naruto-" and the "Dragonball Cho" episodes. How are they supposed to not have a bad impression then? xD
But Western culture shouldn't care about what another nation is doing with their manga. For example, Sarada is perfectly fine in Japan and that's because they live in a different culture than us. What about the shit America does that Japan finds wrong? Now I can agree with this point of view and I do agree. And the over sexualization of pre adolescent teen girls (and even the boys) is just disturbing by western and other cultures. But it's not like western cultures do t do this too. Our medium is done with live action tv shows( watch the 100. Those are kids and they all are shaking up with grown men and women) but still your point is a valid one.
Note I mentioned such things like the 100. This isn't solely something Japanese do. And you are right it isn't something we should concern ourselves with...up until the point that their cultural values are being shared amongst western media. The sexploitation of minors is something frown upon(at least publically) here in the US. Since these types of things are sold to a younger audience, it raises concern amongst parents. But Western culture shouldn't care about what another nation is doing with their manga.
