New Generation of teens hate anime?

Okay.... WTF is up with the extreme hatred of anime lately? Okay, look i get it. anime in the west is just a small portion of popularity and probably dwindled since the big boom in the 90's.(did no rearch) and i know anime gets crapped on by ignorant and reasonable folks every now and then, but lately. especially since around late 2014, i have never seen this much hatred from just about anything social related online. what is causing this stir? is it that misused of the "weaboo" word? is that everything seems to be live action superhero dominating hollywood? is that the newer age of teenagers grew up not watching anime? is the west butthurt about AoT success? is that southpark and family guy made fun of anime again and now their sheep viewers believe every crap word that comes out their mouth? i have no idea.

yes, you could argue that any fanbase can hate the other which is true, but that's just it. even if you hate western cartoons/superheroes while you like anime, there is this strong sense of negativity where as if it were reverse, it seems okay. kinda like sakura vs hinata. anyways. is it officially taboo to like anime now? even fans of japanese games like pokemon, they get very offensive when you call it anime or anime related. (because it's a game first..but then neither were animes, most started off as manga).

am i going insane? am i finally coming out of my rock? am i watching too many forneverworld controversy anime hate related news that most likely made me paranoid? or is there actually a steady increase to the hatred? lol. even one punch man, i read comments of some of their fanbase saying one punch man is superior because it doesn't do any of that "anime crap" when it comes to fighting and typical storytelling (cause apparently that's a bad thing). or worst, i was playing yugioh online and this guy said he "loves playing yugioh but he hates anime". LOL, i don't even understand that. that's like saying you love p***y but you hate women.

i can't even use naruto profile pics over social media because people will diss my taste or opinion just because of that and honestly is about on the same level of hate as twilight and cod. at first i thought it was because naruto is popular, thus anime hipsters will usually hate it because animetards usually hate mainstream (huh, maybe that's the reason why they everyone hates anime) but now, it's not even that. everyone just dogs on naruto. SMFH look, the war arc wasn't perfect, infact it was barely decent imo but no where was it bad enough to completely say the naruto series is bad and should be frowned upon.

bonus: lmao, so it seems that now anime fans are the virgin anti social nerds who can't get any girlfriends while comicbook readers are the casuals cool guys where girls also enjoy it. (base off random resources i've been on). i find this funny, back when i was in highschool, most of my friends who only liked anime happen to be girls. most of which were quite decent looking. oh how the tables have turned in society. lolz

Why I think this is happening:

They don't know what Weeaboo means and thinks it means someone who watches anime and the word is spreading.

More weebs these days and people who watch anime that sell little girls in sexual ways.

Comic fans are getting annoyed.

Because some common Japanese female VA's have annoying, high-pitched, ear-shattering voices that sounds like they're getting anally pounded from all four sides whilst someone tickles their feet. That's what they probably see and hear. It gets annoying sometimes.

Exactly people can't even see how anime is actually good for society. It expresses the values of morals, individualism, teamwork, love, hate etc etc. It's a lot better than watching wtf the Kardashians, flavor flave and all that reality bs. Anime is enlightening and it opens your eyes to the possibilities. I wish we could shutdown half the bs played on America tv and put more anime shows on it.

Well I can see why. I personally am not a fan of anime I just like a select few animes most of which are very old school.


Anime hate is basically due to negative stereotypes associated with anime,as is the case with any other hate regarding a medium of entertainment. I wouldn't say anime hate has been Increasing. More like since anime has gotten bigger so to will the hate for it as it gets more attention in general.

Anime is great but it doesn't offer much more than a comic book or tv show can offer in terms of story,writing or experience so its up to taste whether its your thing or not.

I personally think animes are overblown by the anime community, many act as though its the holy grail medium of entertainment but really they are just cartoons from Japan. They suffer from the same things western cartoons do. Some are shit some are brilliant.

With all that being said the hate is really nothing to worry about its just something you should come to expect. Haters are pretty much an inevitability.

To be fair, anime fans on social media can be really annoying (especially on Twitter, Youtube and Tumblr.....plus, tend to be Naruto fans).

So, I wouldn't blame the hate really.

But, popularity sales tells otherwise. Anime/Manga has been growing more in the west thanks to AoT growing in the US and One Piece growing in France.
