Advantages:
There are many advantages to this technique. for example the oil is a very highly flamable substance. So, the answer is obvious more than direct combat this can be used as a combo beast. For example the technique oil flame bullet used by Jiraiya. Since oil is highly flamable it used in combo with the fire jutsu to drastically increase the damage caused by the oil techniques. The oil spreads out to a large area. So if a fire tech is used with a oil tech there is more propability that the fire jutsu will affect the opponent. Next is the Syrup. thought the syrup's are highly viscous in nature and doesn't flow fast, they can be used as a excellent medium to trap the enemy because of it's adhesive property. like how kakuzu was trapped by stick syrup. As soon as the enemy is trapped it will be difficult for the opponent to come out of the trap thereby giving us some time to perform powerful precision based jutsu on the opponent that requires the opponent to be paralysed or stationary in one place.

Disadvantages: There are many disadvantages to this method too. for example. the flow of oil/syrup is not as fast as water so if the opponent is aware of it he can easily dodge it. These can't be used directly in combat. using in conjugation with som other element only will improve the efficiency of the method. Oil can be considered as a double edge sword. since oil is highly flamable and mostly oil based techs will be stream type, when producing the oil for combat the opponent can take advantage of it and can use it against the user by using a fire tech against him. generally the combo's will need a clone to perform the other jutsu as if the user performs the jutsu concurrently , there will be a time lag between the jutsus and the opponent can take advantage of this. Regarding the syrup, If the opponent is aware that the user uses a syrup the opponent can nullify the adhesive properties of the syrup by focusing chakra in the part that will come in contact with the syrup.(eg. by focusing chakra in leg one can walk over the adhesive syrup.
I'm not sure the chakra can help you avoid the adhesion. I've never seen it used like that so far and if it was, then the syrup techniques would be useless because everyone would repel them by simple chakra. You need a stronger technique to repel the effects and to get rid of the adhesive.

The last method is called "Other". Basically, everything that isn't possible to be sorted in any of the previous groups falls in here. There's not really much to the method because the techniques vary and so do the advantages and disadvantages.

Now, we can start with the techniques. We'll do it this way. I will post the technique and I will in short explain how to perform it, strong points of the technique, possible uses and anything I find relevant and what I want from you is to give me your opinion on which method it belongs to and why. Then I'd like you to tell me how you could defend against the technique if it was used against you. You are free to use your imagination. This will give me a close insight on your understanding of the technique because if you're able to correctly defend against the technique, it means that you also know how it works. Understood?

(Suiton No Jutsu) - Water technique
Rank: D
Type: Supplementary/Attack/Defence
Range: Short-Mid
Damage Points:20
Description: Creates small waves of water, small blasts, and small shields of water.
Note: Doesn't require a water source but can be used to manipulate existing water.

The most basic water technique. It allows you to create various objects using your own chakra. They're mostly created from your own body, i.e. hands but you can also manipulate them from an already existing water source. It's an interesting technique because it can be used for all types and it is mid range thus it can be very helpful. However, due to it being so weak you will hardly have the chance to use it. Imagine that I release a small wave of water at you, how would you defend against it?

method:
This technique comes under the Water manipuation/ projectile method as small water projectiles can be formed from one's own body by nature and shape manipulating the chakra or a by using the available water source.

Counter:
Since it is a Basic D rank water technique , technique like.
(Doton No Jutsu) - Earth Release Technique
Rank: D
Type: Attack/Defence
Range: Short-Mid
Chakra cost: 10
Damage Points: 20
Descripton: Creates small pillars of earth, small tools, and small shields of earth

will be sufficient to counter this jutsu.
because D rank earth > D rank water.

Performance:
I now concentrate Water chakra and spit it out through the mouth. While doing so I use the nature manipulation to change it into water and shape manipulate it into small blast of projectiles.

was that good? :)

Yes, you're correct about the method and that jutsu would suffice as a defense. However, you're supposed to use nature manipulation first and then use shape manipulation when you spit it out, not the other way around. Questions?

okay understood.! :) no questions we may proceed.! :)
(Kirigakure No Jutsu) - Hidding in Mist Jutsu
Rank: D
Type: Supplementary
Range: Short-Long
Chakra Cost: 10
Damage Points: N/A
Description: This displacement technique creates a thick mist to spring forth by lifting up some water from either a pre-existing source or expelled from their mouth, then goes in and out of sight at will from within the pearly-white realm. The mist's thickness is controlled by the amount of chakra kneaded into it. It can't fool the Byakugan, but, due to the mist being created with the user's chakra, any Sharingan and Rinnegan-user will see the mist coloured by their opponent's chakra, which will effectively hide the user from the dōjutsu.
Note: Can be created through releasing from mouth or manipulating a nearby water source.

I'm sure you already saw this jutsu. It's a very nice jutsu and I love using it, however you have to be cautious. To perform the technique you release the mist from your mouth or you can once again perform it from a water source. The mist is thick enough to block both your and your opponents vision so you have to be careful and have another sense to rely on. It's very useful against sharingan and rinnegan because they can't distinguish your chakra but once again, if you can't see them you gain nothing from it. It's very good for setting up large scale attacks as well as swift assassinations.

Method:
This technique come under both water manipulation and Water Stream.
Water manipulation: as done by zabuza during the kakashi zabuza clash.
Stream: as done by Mei Terumei in Madara vs Gokage.

Counter:
The mist produced by this technique can be countered by a Powerful wind technique like.
(Fūton: Atsugai) - Wind Style: Pressure Damage
Rank: A
Type:Attack
Range:Short-Long
Chakra Cost:30
Damage Points:60
Description: The user does the Ram handseal and inhales, kneading his chakra into his lungs, exhaling a huge blast of wind that levels anything in its path. Can cause major damage and requires a sufficient chakra level to perform. This large wind blast moves in tremendous speed and cannot be controlled. If the user gets caught in it, it will harm him also.

By using the above jutsu there is also a possibility that the opponent will be damaged in that attack.

Performance:
I now concentrate Suiton chakra in my lungs. While releasing the suiton chakra I use nature manipulation to convert it into a thick mist. I can also perform this technique by using a available water resource and use that manipulate that water to form thick mist.

Usage:
Very useful technique if the user has other ability like sensing. coz this technique not only affects the opponents vision but also it affects the user's vision too. It cannot escape Byakugan but it can fool Sharingan and rinnegan as the mist is formed by the users own chakra. It can be greatly used in combo with large area affecting water jutsus. because the user first performs the kirigakure no jutsu and affects the sight of the opponent. then they use a high AoA long range water jutsu so that the opponent cannot see it comming and the reaction time of the opponent will be reduced.

Water stream? Why? You don't need to maintain the technique once you perform it and you're allowed to use other techniques as soon as you execute it. Why do you think it's a stream?

Or a weak wind technique, lol. No need to go so big. Most D-C rank wind techniques would be able to get rid of the mist too. But your assumption is true, if you also want to harm the opponent then using a stronger technique might not be such a bad idea after all. I like it.

You're however not limited to just water. You can even use different elements too and the opponent still wouldn't see them coming. You can for example make earth spikes too. If the opponent can't see you performing the handseal for the technique it's harder to react considering that they form in his close vicinity.

Lol, sorry I mis understood it to be a stream tech,
And I used a A rank wind jutsu because the power, range and AoA of that wind jutsu will be large so it will not only clear the mist but also will have better chances to hit the opponent.
Ofcourse, we can use a earth spikes but to use that kind of jutsus one needs to know the position of the opponent, without sensing or other detection ability, with the mist covered one cannot pin point the opponent location and use the jutsu right?

That's my thinking. Correct me if I am wrong. :)

Excellent. Exactly what I wanted you to point out. :) So, what this means is; yes the mist can be an advantage but if you don't have a way of overcoming the disadvantage of the mist then there's no point in using it. Enhanced hearing, sensing or anything other that can help you is what you have to rely on for this technique to be of use.

(Suiton: Mizu Kuri No Yaiba) - Water Style: Sword of Draining
Rank: D
Range: Short
Chakra cost: 10
Damage Points: 20
Description: A technique that utilizes water to create a sword. The sword can be wielded in the normal fashion, allowing the ninja to cut and stab like with a normal blade.
Note: Doesn't require a water source.

As mentioned already, this technique doesn't require a water source, which means that you create it using your own chakra. You expel it through your chakra points in your hand and you shape manipulate it into a sword. The sword it more or less like any other blade but it's made of water. Once you form the sword you compress it, etc to make it solid and have all the other properties of a regular sword. What's interesting with this technique is that it can be a life saver in close battles or if the opponent knocks the real weapon out of your hand. It's fairly easy to create and you could even make it as an extension of your arm in case the opponent tries to avoid your initial punch. This would give you some extra distance and be like a follow up attack.

Method:
This technique doesn't require a water source to perform, hence it will not come under water manipulation. The sword is created through the user's own chakra point and with the own chakra of the user, but it's neither a projectile nor it doesn't require a constant supply of chakra to maintain it. the sword once created is created, hence it won't come under both projectile and stream. So, it can be classified as other methods. Am I right? :)

Counter:
The sword produced is not as hard as the other swords, since it is a D rank sword, A D rank Wind shield or a D rank earth wall can counter it. since D rank wind = D rank water and D rank Earth > D rank water. :)

Performance:
I now concentrate my suiton chakra throughout my body and channel it to my right hand. I then release it from my chakra points in the right hand and while releasing it , I use nature manipulation to change the chakra into water and then shape manipulate it to form a strong sword.I then compress the sword to make it even hard and strong.

Usage:
It can be used as a life saver(Like the wind sword used by danzo against sasuke), or emergency aid when the user's sword is damaged. The chakra used to create the sword is small hence it can be used as a final attempt against the opponent. Since the sword doesnt require the continues supply of chakra to maintain it, once the sword is created the over all cutting edge and the strength of the sword can be increased by channelling lightning through the sword.

Am not sure about the channelling of lightning through the sword, Is it possible with the water sword? will it effectively increase the strength and piercing power of the sword??

True, but then again, why not a stream? Okay, you perform the stream and you focus on a battle using the sword which means that you won't really have time for any other techniques and once you do, it's probable that you won't need the sword anymore, so I believe that it is a stream after all.

Very good, those would protect you from the water sword. :)

No, because I believe that it's a stream, you won't be able to channel other elements into it, especially not lightning because you would electrocute yourself.

Got a doubt.! U_U
Method 2: Streams/Water Sources

This method involves creating constant streams of water as well as creating water sources. What I mean is, the techniques in this method continuously releases water and/or creates such a large mass of water, it provides a suitable water source for you to use other Suiton techniques that do need a source of water. Now what this would mean is, you have to constantly fuel the techniques with your chakra in order to keep the on pour of water coming out or else you will not be able to create the streams or the large masses of water. These techniques don't generally require a large amount of shape manipulation. Some techniques do however most are just you creating a mass of water or stream of water where you would, therefore, simply pour your chakra into the technique and create an unfocused wave of water that travels towards your destination. These techniques also provide you with a wider and, potentially longer, range of reach to your opponents. There is also the granted advantage of control over the technique. As opposed to projectiles, where you release them and their self-sustaining nature takes over and there is no further control from the users, most of these techniques allow for you to manipulate in different general directions to allow you to hit your target even if they move out of the immediate range.
So does that mean once the sword is created, the user has to feed chakra constantly to the sword to maintain it??
or once the sword is created there will be no need of feeding chakra to it coz the sword is already made and it is hardened and shape manipulated to become a durable one(like a small stream technique)??

Yes, that's exactly why I said that I think it's a stream. You have to fuel chakra into it, but the upside is that you can reform it, if it crashes against a stronger weapon.

oh.! thankyou sensei for clearing it. :)
( Suiton: Junsai no Jutsu ) - Water Release: Water Shield Technique
Rank: D
Type: Supplementary, Defence
Range: Short
Chakra cost: 10
Damage points: N/A
Description: The user will manipulate their water chakra and releasing it from their arm which is held outwards infront of them and they then create a shield of water that can aide in defence against projectile weapons and close combat techniques.

A very simple water construct. You hold your arm outwards and you release your chakra forming a shield that protects you. It's very simple and very basic thus a very effective defense against fire techniques as well as weak projectiles. Since it's a defensive technique you don't need to defend from it but I'd like to hear your opinion on how to overpower it and damage the user when he has the shield active.

Since it's a defensive technique you don't need to defend from it but I'd like to hear your opinion on how to overpower it and damage the user when he has the shield active.

Method:
Since the shield formed is produced from the user's own chakra and it does need constant fuelling of the chakra to maintain it. So, from the above point we can conclude that this Jutsu belongs to the Stream type.

Performance:
I now concentrated and start to focus my suiton chakra all over my body and channel it to my arms. I then hold my arm outwards and release my chakra. While releasing the chakra I use nature manipulation to change it into water and then use shape manipulation to change it into a Hard shield that protects me from incoming fire jutsu and projectile attacks.

Usage:
This technique can be used as a very good defensive technique from incoming projectile attacks. The water shield is hard enough to protect from projectiles and also it can used as a excellent defensive counter against incoming fire Jutsus( D and C ranks only) since D rank water > D rank fire and D rank water = C rank fire.

Counter:
Though it is a defensive technique that protects it's user It can be overpowered and Damage its user. The trick is simple. We know that water is a very good conductor of electricity. The defensive wall is in contact with the user as it is fuelled with the users chakra. So if the opponent uses a lightning projectile attack, even the shield stops the projectile the lightning will be conducted by the water and it will electrocute the water shield user.
