well...technically Chuck Berry is The Godfather of Rock music and hes black, we expanded it a lot though

but really its a silly thing to debate, thats why the video in the OP is so stupid and that post by that dude is just bad bait. but Europe has tons of culture and things we created that others adopted. hes just a racist troll
That was done by black people although white artist was an outlet to the white population. It probably would not be as big if it was for that.
''No one cares who started it, only those who popularized it.'' Ever heard that before? Because its very true, its a relative term that counts towards pretty much everything. Only those that actually listen to rock music know who Chuck Berry is, others only know the beatles who popularized it. Yes a black man started it but it was a all white band that took it into the main stream and made it into what it is today, hence white culture. Although i suppose it could be considered both of our cultures, however rock music never stuck with black culture, hip hop did instead.

.....okay, so what is this whole video about? us taking things black people started and making it our own. like youre essentially supporting what theyre saying in the OP with statements like this to keep the discussion going

idk what youre trying to prove by making comments like that, we actually have culture you just need to know where your family is from, literally everyone in this thread is speaking a language we created. theres nothing to prove honestly and nit-picking who created what, just pushes this separatist bullshit

but do what you want. im just saying its not accomplishing anything for the better

No, i was actually just replying to the new topic adam started. And like i said no one cares who started anything, only those who popularized it and the statement i'd say is 100% true. Music terms, we have rock and they have hip hop, we technically didn't steal anything really. The genre of rock between Chuck and The Beatles and so on are pretty different, enough to say i suppose we did technically start it i suppose. But what i assume the grand comment (white people stealing black culture) is about are these wannabe white thugs, i mean... lets be real here... who likes them? We don't either so. I see white people trying to act black and i'm rather embarrassed to be honest, they're the ones stealing culture not us.

So the only cultural music black people are known for is hip-hop?

And white people have never taken cultural influences from other regions and implemented it to their own?

You say no one cares, yet here we are.

I never said a word of that lmao and you only care right now because you're trying to act sjw/white knighting black people when there is legit no one here attacking them, we're attacking race supremacy here not the black race.

No, I'm just asking you to elaborate on your statements.

If anyone's talking about race supremacy, it's you.

.....music terms? lolxD youre saying a lot of ignorant stuff right now, as someone who knows a lot about music, theres a lot of holes in what you just posted. so im just gonna leave it alone to save typing a wall of text

but whatever dude, feel how you want but its not gonna solve anything and just makes us look bad tbh

How can i elaborate on a clear statement... Do you refuse to read it clearly enough to understand or? The mainstream white race and black race listen to a few singular genres, that being rock for white and or hip hop for black. Asians listen to that kpop, yada yada. I'm legit just stating true stereotypes via music. I mean, am i wrong to say most white people listen to rock, most black people listen to hip hop, and most asians listen to kpop? 80% of the time when you go up to someone and ask what genre of music they like (depending on the region) they'll most likely say these things, after all they popularized those genres themselves.

Well... if i told you my families history with music you wouldn't believe me anyways so it's rather redundant to argue with you further.

That's quite a generalization.

But who created each genre?

Also, a lot of white people listen to Jazz and play Jazz. So is Jazz also considered white culture? I mean Frank Sinatra was an iconic musician and Jazz artist...

But do you play and study music on a professional level? Just because your family might have a history doesn't mean that knowledge and expertise is trickled down onto you.

I mean i suppose, not too familiar with the jazz genre and how it goes but i'd say to generalize things once again if the majority of a race creates something its safe to say its their culture i suppose.

Studying music is completely different than actually playing it, being apart of it your whole life, and actually seeing professionalism in the act first hand, second hand, and every hand.

smh, i literally make a living making music. if your family has done a lot for music you should know things you dont. like comparing The Beatles a band who gained popularity making pop music, like, "I want to hold you hand", to Chuck Berry rock n roll and wondering why they are so different, smh. infact The Beatles have stated a lot that earlier albums and a lot of the blues elements they used on albums like Revolver, were influenced by black people

My question is how does your family's musical background relate to your knowledge of musical history and musical demographics? Did you study these subjects?
