smh, i literally make a living making music. if your family has done a lot for music you should know things you dont. like comparing The Beatles a band who gained popularity making pop music, like, "I want to hold you hand", to Chuck Berry rock n roll and wondering why they are so different, smh. infact The Beatles have stated a lot that earlier albums and a lot of the blues elements they used on albums like Revolver, were influenced by black people
'' like comparing The Beatles a band who gained popularity making pop music, like, ''

Damn, the beatles a pop band... damn, wow you're so informed in the rock scene aren't ya, lmao. If you do a simple google search you'd know the beatles were a rock band, however if you actually had some deep rooted knowledge of the genre you'd know that automatically. And yes, i never said '' the beatles never took inspiration from black people'' i rather know they did thank you. Its crazy that these sjws are literally throwing words into my mouth, like what? the 3rd time?

Also, copy and pasting youtube music links to a thread isn't making music, its just sharing it. And i really could careless if you make music, how does you stating that you make music help your side at all? Like i said, ''Studying music is completely different than actually playing it, being apart of it your whole life, and actually seeing professionalism in the act first hand, second hand, and every hand.''

My question is how does your family's musical background relate to your knowledge of musical history and musical demographics? Did you study these subjects?
You don't have to study if you were in it your whole life. Does a rich person need to learn how to be rich if they already grew up rich? No, because they already learnt first hand by their family who more than likely learnt by the best or were the best.

So the race that creates it isn't credited with its creation, only the people who popularize it is what you're saying then?
Yes, thats how every popular thing works no? If you like a meme, do you care who started it? Probably not.

“Pop’ music is meant to describe “characteristics of pop music include an aim of appealing to a general audience, rather than to a particular sub-culture or ideology, and an emphasis on craftsmanship rather than formal "artistic" qualities.”

During the time of the Beatles, "rock" and "pop" music were interchangeable.

This makes no sense whatsoever. You're comparing an economic lifestyle to knowledge that needs to be passed down, not experience.

Your comment doesn't answer my question. Did your parents teach you about musical history and the demographics of music?

Ok, but you see what you said is basically supporting the cultural appropriation argument....

A culture creates something, and then another culture takes it and claims it as their own.

Yes, and then they're considered primarily rock as they're the ones who started its trend.

...okay, this thread is just showing your and idiot in all your comments, has anyone agreed with you? if you can listen to hold your hand, the song that had a million little girls screaming at the top of their lungs and what made them successful, its a Pop song. i didnt say the Beatles didnt make rock music but they are a Pop band who got popularity making pop music. you saying The Beatles, a huge pop act who uses rock as well as a lot of other styles across their discography is sooo different from Chuck Berry that they essentially started rock music, thats the bullshit logic you have, its dumb

also if you read the thread, its Dj'ing and called Radio, wtf does radio do? share music, smh. i am literally a indie rock artist, i know all the roots of rock music and a ton of other genres through the decades and how the art form evolved. which is a lot more credit than, "oh my family knows some stuff"

but im done talking to you

Reading about it, and doing it is completely different. No, my family did not teach me the history of all musical demographics, all i know is the lifestyle of rock and so on like I've stated before.

...... YOU GOT ME! I suppose that is true, but that isn't really what the original thread was about anyways. But, its not always the case of someone believing it as ''stealing'' more of a improvement upon a original design.

You guys, all this fighting because you took this nonsense seriously

Actually a black guy named Lewis Latimer created it along with Edison who naturally took all the credit. Without his genius mind the light bulb may not have advanced as far as it did today. And nobody created electricity and that not a culture you can't appropriate it lol. White people dont have a culture besides slavery and racism that why they try to use everyone else culture but don't necessarily like the people.

As far as the the video goes white people get in their feeling when black people call out racist stuff they do or when they appropriate our culture white. Till this day black people are still being opressed by white people because of a false sense of superiority which is laughable at best. We live in a white world that wants to keep not just black people down but pretty much anyone that is not white. But white people are going extinct and eventually they will become the minority due to lack of child birth per white couple and interracial births.
I don't think any of you should be in a position to make fun of another, but w/e i'm just saying. I get baited all the time too

No, i was actually just replying to the new topic adam started. And like i said no one cares who started anything, only those who popularized it and the statement i'd say is 100% true. Music terms, we have rock and they have hip hop, we technically didn't steal anything really. The genre of rock between Chuck and The Beatles and so on are pretty different, enough to say i suppose we did technically start it i suppose. But what i assume the grand comment (white people stealing black culture) is about are these wannabe white thugs, i mean... lets be real here... who likes them? We don't either so. I see white people trying to act black and i'm rather embarrassed to be honest, they're the ones stealing culture not us.
''No one cares who started it, only those who popularized it.'' Ever heard that before? Because its very true, its a relative term that counts towards pretty much everything. Only those that actually listen to rock music know who Chuck Berry is, others only know the beatles who popularized it. Yes a black man started it but it was a all white band that took it into the main stream and made it into what it is today, hence white culture. Although i suppose it could be considered both of our cultures, however rock music never stuck with black culture, hip hop did instead.
Why are you all taking adamhill302 seriously -_-
:p:p:ilu:

I mean i suppose, not too familiar with the jazz genre and how it goes but i'd say to generalize things once again if the majority of a race creates something its safe to say its their culture i suppose.
I suppose white, don't see much black rockstars myself. I hear asians are big in the rock too but not sure how big that is over there.
And you are just proving the video right lol. These types of music is part of the different subcultures of black culture. Although some are not as popular in the black community and your here claiming these types of music as being part of white culture casuse they make that type of music. That's not how it work. Like I said white people like other people's culture but not the people and they claim it as thier culture. Same thing they do with food. Clothing designs. Housing snd pretty much everthing else. Black people had no culture because white people took it away from us but we created a new culture after slavery ended.

You got washed by Vex a few pages ago if I recall correctly. Now you're trying to play the OP off as if he wasn't being serious or something.
Dude, i cleared him with comment #63. He was just backpedaling and i lost my interest in continuing the conversation. I didn't get "washed". If i wanted to i would've kept the conversation going, even if we didn't get anywhere.

And i'm not sure what you mean by your second statement. I was talking about how everyone fell for adamhill302 and are basically spewing nonsense and circle jerkin eachother while also fighting.

Now if what you're saying is you wanted me to take serious and have a legit argument with someone who said white people have no culture and black people are being oppressed you are highly mistaking.
