Neji w/ 64 palms and 8 trigrams would solo Sasuke considering he could end the match before he could use chidori, considering the amount of time it took for him to use it in the fight with Gaara. Even with the curse mark, sasuke would be rendered useless just like Kidomaru was. Neji would win and shit on an arrogant Uchiha just as Rock Lee did previously.

Beats CE Sasuke neg/low diff since the only thing Sasuke has going for him is speed similar Lee's normal speed which is vastly slower and weaker than Initial Gated Lee who canonically stood no chance of outperforming Neji in CQC even from the prelims era so CE2 Neji easily reacts to a much inferior speed then rapes Sasuke with Jyuken neg diff.
-Then we have Chidori which would get repelled and reflected by Kaiten followed by Sasuke quickly getting finished Off by 64 Palms after getting repelled and the same thing applies to CM1 Sasuke..
So in actuality its like this , CE1 Neji>>>>1st Gated Lee w/o Weights >>>Weightless Lee>>>>>>>>>>>>Weighted Lee>>>>>>>>>>>CE1 Sasuke so u saying CE1 Sasuke = CE1 Neji doesn't even make a lick of sense not to mention Kishi had Kabuto state that he wonders who is stronger between Kimimaro and Sasuke similar to Neji's case which was bfore we knew of Kimimaro's prowess which again directly addresses the question after his powers were fully shown to the reader with the question being asked simply to bring interest to the comparison.

That was simply to build hype and excitement since the reader didn't have a clue of Neji's abilities so asking that question would build interest which is why Kishi made sure to directly address the fact that that incarnation of Sasuke stood ZERO chance against Neji after Kakashi witnessed ntn but Taijutsu prowess and precision from him lol.

Lee has nothing on him other than Taijutsu. And no, that isn't hype. It's the manga using a reliable narrator to tell us where Sasuke and Neji stand.
