If you like stop Right around the time sasuke defeated danzo it's great plot wise and action wise.

If you actually go rewatch DBZ right now, you'll realize it's infact bullshit. For it's time it had some of the best action and action scenes, but that time is gone. It never had any plot though... Dbz's plot is utter bullshit and riddled with plot holes :/

I only cried once in naruto, when haku died. In DBZ, I cried when the last ep aired, when goku teleported cell, when gohan went ssj2 because a android died, and when goku died from a heart disease. I honestly felt more connected to dbz than naruto.

Nostalgia aside, Naruto.
DBZ is just over the top, the fights are all about power levels and the fights all come down to the same. Its just boring and lacking quality wise. Same happens with plot and character development is barely present (if present at all).
Naruto has more interesting characters, more interesting fights, a much larger variety of moves and techniques, an actual plot, character development (for some) and the databooks add a lot of depth to the narutoverse.

All of my friends were desperately crazy to watch DBZ anime and sat before the TV 10 minutes ahead of airing on TV. They never showed such amount of interest in Naruto

Now me and my friends are all adults have busy life of our own. But children nowadays are not that existed in Naruto. Naruto has a better story, but DBZ created obsession and addiction among viewers. People will continue to watch DBZ even in 2030. The same can't be said for Naruto

Anyway,there are only 2 manga/anime who ruled the top reign over the world for decades,dbz and naruto. One piece doesn't count as it's mostly popular in japan and in world outside japan,it's not even in the compitition.

Hands down DBZ. Goku vs Vegeta. The last surviving members of an ancient civilization duking it out, saving the world, or fighting against enemies out to destroy the earth. Even though they did not come from earth, they still fight to protect it and the people they care about. So many good characters and legendary fights... Goku vs Freiza, Vegeta vs Android 18, Gohan vs Cell

NO manga or anime will ever come close to representing and introducing what DBZ did. BUT, Naruto is a good manga that I have read for a long time and will continue to keep up with until it ends. Obviously DBZ is amazing since the Naruto author takes inspiration from DB and DBZ.

Also, going with what some of the other posts said... DBZ created a CULTURE and was a CULTURAL phenomenon that spawned millions of American fans to not only DBZ, but other Japanese comics. It is the entire reason FUNimation exists as it does now.

At my school, everyone talked about or at least had heard of DBZ. DBZ popularity = Pokemon popularity. Super Saiyan Goku was an iconic of figure as Pikachu.

Naruto isn't on the same scale and is not comparable (not saying it's bad)

DBZ is no where near Naruto in terms of characterisation, plot and story telling. So, my vote goes to Naruto.

this just goes to show you how important the english dub of an anime is. DBZ was brilliant...but it was the english dub that made it so, not the manga. I honestly think that if a greater number of people did not mind watching a japanese sub anime, Naruto would be far ahead in this poll
