I completely agree, although I think the flashbacks will be longer unfortunately.

its too bad really because I know everybody wants to see the current happenings and not madara and hashis whole life story. The whole manga chapter does not need to be wasted this way. The story build up is so drawn out then finally when we get action its shorter than before and the whole process repeats itself. I will skip a few then return back when things pick up this was so boring I barely read through the art was okay but wasted on foolishness that we already assumed. My rant is over see you all next month.

For those who think these chapters are a waste of time and get angry at Kishi, I think you're missing out on the reason why these are quite possibly the most important chapters to ever be released. These chapters are giving us the true beginning of both Hasirama and Madara's true feelings about shinobi life. We're eventually going to see just how Madara changed to become the antagonist of the Naruto universe. All this is going to tie into Sasuke and Naruto's feelings about shinobi life, and will show the parallels in the lives of Hashi/Madara and Naru/Sasu. This is going to give us insight on how the entire Naruto universe is going to change forever, and the ending to the manga itself.

I know there wasn't much progression, but I like how kishi is giving the backround upon which the shinobi village formed. How Hashirama is trying to save his friend from hatred and the lust for power, but realizes he can't. Again Kishi had to show them from a young age to confirm why Hashirama considered Madara a friend.

What statement are you trying to make by saying people are incredibly bias for giving this a 3 or higher? Naruto isn't supposed to be like dbz, and I would hate to see epic battles every single chapter. As I recall filler has been turned from a term used for fantasy episodes of shows, to a term that just means fodder or a fodder episode or chapter. Maybe I am the kind of person that can take the time with patience to read a manga even if there is no epic action. Everyone thinks the hashirama vs madara flashback is cool only because we see godly shinobi duke it out, but when their backround story comes as a flashback; people forget about the nooks and crannies that make up this show.

The chapeter got a 1 from me. everything I predicted happened basically in the same order too. I dont think I will read this until these flashbacks end. I predict another useless week is on the way. I cannot even imagine how interesting it will get after these flashbacks because then more flash backs are destined to happen. Kishi is stalling and this manga chap was filler. Btw I usually give 4's or 5's but this chapter was a 1 from me. Anybody who gave this more than a 3 is incredibly bias.

immediately i saw Itama i thought of Zetsu.
Madara was so lovely, he and Hashi were smart kids.
Hashi was wood, Tobirama was water, what was Itama? grass?
and just like Kakashi, Rin and Obito why was Itama alone?
I love this chapter tho: 10/5. just because of how funny madara is.

Me too! I'm wondering if Oro had experimentations with Itama's cells.
Itama's hair explain Zetsu quite well, also Itama is Senju and may have easy connection with Hashirama's body that Madara keeps.

I have said that i think he was an Uzumaki right from the beginning. From his sealing techs, his sealing weapons, and even the fact that to our knowledge he had white hair (remembering that when an Uzumaki uses up too much of their Chakra, as in the case of Nagato, it can also result in their hair turning from red to white).

EDIT: Oh and not to mention that Naruto Uzumaki knew the Sage of the Six Paths Seal by instinct when he used it on Kurama when he had first acquired the Kyuubis Yin Chakra and Kyuubi Mode.

yep I was wondering the same thing maybe considering Itama is Hashirama's younger brother and Orochimaru stole all his tech from the senju.

Revealing chapter. Good build-up, this is exactly the type of information that Sasuke needs. Like what made Madara the way he is now? So that Sasuke being 'evil' would be a personal choice and not one forced on him by external contributions of shinobis like: Danzo, Konoha 2 elders, Itachi, Orochimaru & Obito. Great chapter 5/5.
