I liked this chapter(4/5 was my vote). I can def see the logic in the flashbacks, we all knew this was coming so no need in complaining about it. Character development has been central for Kishi every time a character is set to die. And since this is ultimately leading up to the end of the manga, all mysterious characters especially the founders and main antagonist need to be developed completely. I agree with the other posts about this story being for Sasuke's benefit(not just our own) to know all sides of the past so he can decide on his own path. As Hashi said before, even if they stop Madara again, Sasuke will just be his re-incarnation. I really am looking forward to Sasuke and Oro's reaction to the story.
Interesting to see that Madara has already lost siblings and yet he is not overcome by his emotions yet. Also interesting that Hashi and Madara are thinking the same way about the war situation. So many comparisons from Mad/Hashi to Sas/Naru but as it has been posted on this thread, the times are much different for these sets of characters. What Mad/Hashi had to overcome just to make it to adulthood was a bit overwhelming, another testament to their overpowering strength.
I def don't mind Kishi drawing the story out longer as I am such a huge Naruto fan I do not wish to see the end of this manga. The longer these stories and fights go on, the longer the manga will last. When it does finally end I hope some spin off comes about or a continuation from the next generation's point of view at least. I would love to know who got together with who and how their kids come out and what abilities each of them has. Just my opinion tho.

Really informative Kishi is slowly answering a lot of questions of mine and I'm sure many others who are interested in the overall not just progressive story. Really excited for the coming months worth of naruto manga not just weeks! MONTHS! It's gonna have everything!

i totally agree with you gokillers, they wher both shinobis when naruto was probably still at the academy, so yes their strenght and awesomeness didn't come from just training it was condition they were forced to be strong. yes just imagine all the uchiha and senju bros were around naruto might be THE EPIC............. lol so sarutobi replaced itama right............. well he wasn't that bad for a senju replacement

Once again, Are you stupid? The manga already explained this. MADARA CREATED ZETSU USING HASHIRAMA AND HE OWN DNA/WILL
Black Zetsu = Madara's will
White Zetsu = Hashirama's will (that's why he had a playful attitude)

Chill my bad a little confusion but they still both were reverse engineering people and them selfs and It was never said if the White half was Hashirama's will but a clone and clone don't always inherit the will of the original

What I liked in the chapter:
-We now know that both Hashirama and Madara had more brothers than we originally thought.
-We clearly see now how Shinobi lived around 80 years before the start of the series (wasn't it 80 years or something?)

Eh sorry about that wanted to inform people, but i saw alot of "Itami is Zetsu"...Clone's have exact DNA as the real one...so why won't they?

Before konoha , every clan was fighting for the love of their clan.
Hashi and Madara met when they were both looking for a way to change this shinobi world , they understood each other and became friends with the same goal without realizing they were born as ennemies .
Later , they will make an alliance between clans of the same region , called "village of that country".


With time , something grew between clans of those villages , love between comrades , village unity , the will of fire for Konoha.
Every region of the world does the same , and now villages are fighting for the love of their own village.
Hashimara and Madara understood that making villages is an incomplete way to achieve peace .
They need world unity.How?
Madara's answer is to create an insane ennemy of humanity , to make shinobis unify against that ennemy.
Hashirama thinks there must be another answer and Madara leaved Konoha


When Madara came back to take Hashirama DNA to summon Juubi , Hashimara kicked Madara's ass with a few thousands of spanks , but had no answers , let's try madara's? .
Hashirama planned to give his life to make Madara able to summon Juubi to use it as an ennemy of humanity ( Madara's plan after leaving Konoha) , to make the world unify against that beast , to make everybody a comrade you love , unity of shinobis , a world of peace.
I would say well played guys.

That would explain why Madara is enjoying all the alliance of shinobis jutsus :"Hmmmm , well played ""oooh , it's a strong clan""nice combi , guys" , like he would be at a friendly football match.Obito is more " **** , shit , grrrr , tssssk " like he would be at the world cup final.

I won't even write down what i am thinking :x

Madara and Hashirama at the end were both equals and had the same agenda. Furthur down, the line where people think Hahirama killed Izuna...no. You need to read this manga to get a hint of what he was talking about during their final battle.

So Madara losing 4 brothers, meaning he probably had the sharingan at the end of the chapter but it was de-activated... since when something dear to the uchiha is lost, emotional loss triggers the brain for the sharingan to appear

I loved the insight into Madara's childhood. It now seems like he and Hashi may not have been just rivals, but friends. I really want to know what happened to change madara now, because simple jealousy of Hashi doesn't seem to be a good guess anymore now that we've seen how Madara used to be.

We knew most about Hiruzen since he was there from the start, and we just recently learned more about Minato. These flashbacks, hopefully will give us more info on Hashirama, Tobirama and Madara's past and help flesh out their characters more.

We only know alittle about Hurizen...
We know somethings about Minato...
By the end of this flashback we will know Hashirama, Tobirama and Madara better than all of the Hokages...
