Interesting chapter. Good to see the history of Harashima/Madara. I would have loved to see how mind fuc*ed people got to know that they had more than 1 sibling apeice. Makes me laugh.

yep I was wondering the same thing maybe considering Itama is Hashirama's younger brother and Orochimaru stole all his tech from the senju.
Once again, Are you stupid? The manga already explained this. MADARA CREATED ZETSU USING HASHIRAMA AND HE OWN DNA/WILL
Black Zetsu = Madara's will
White Zetsu = Hashirama's will (that's why he had a playful attitude)

I gave this chapter a low 5/5. Why?

We learned how different times were back then. We also had most of Sasuke's question answered (which is the whole point of the damn flash backs to begin with, so it will all make sense when we get back to the main story.. I read somewhere that it should have been a separate arc<---totally agree.) And what I mean is what a village and shinobi is. (if you didn't see the answers, re-read the last two chaps, especially this one.)

vvvvvvvvvvDon't read the thing I wrote in the spoiler if you don't feel like reading a bitvvvvvvv
I'm not sure why so many people are upset over this chapter, it's trying to tie the whole story together so it can be finished with no questions. Madara's and Hashi's relationship is tied to Obito's and Kakashi's and their relationship is tied into Sasuke's and Naruto's. I think it's trying to connect all of these relationships (that made the manga in the first place). It's to contrast with the ending of the story showing how no matter how messed up a relationship got in the end, everyone has or had the same goals and feelings and maybe it will end with peace when the two opposing sides end up realizing it. (Sorry if this made no damn sense XD)

Summary if didn't read what I wrote in the spoiler thing: This is all needed to tie everything together and to give an ending totally different from the whole course of this story which has been built on strong bonds breaking. Kishi is going to give us all a good ending, so all we can do is be happy that we are getting the info needed to do that.

There isn't much to respond to, however, just like everyone else, I did like the fact that we learned more about the family history of Hashirama and Madara...
RIP Itama :scorps:...I wonder what his ninjutsu would've been like???

Well, I don't want to seem excessively simple-minded, but I admit I much prefer battle chapters to chapters such as this. I actually don't know how much new information was actually in that chapter; by my calculations very little. I'll just be waiting for the scene to shift back to the epic Hashirama and Madara battle. 3/5 for this chapter.

With Sasuke asking all of these questions, in addition to getting all of these answers, will that consequently make him the new "one that knows everything?" He is now privy to information about Konoha that not even its standing Hokage and advisors know about. Many people debate over a possible "power-up" for Sasuke, but knowledge in and of itself is a dangerous weapon, especially in the shinobi world.

While many people may disagree, I think that these flashbacks are necessary, and there is no better time to give them. Kishimoto's style is very consistent. After Naruto gained his beast mode/the chakra of most of the other tailed beasts, Kishimoto switched to Sasuke, Itachi, and Kabuto. Within that fight we were shown Kabuto's flashback, with occasional glimpses of the Madara/5 kage fight. Kishimoto is using the same tactic now. My only concern is that when we were finally shown Naruto and company again, he was bleeding from the mouth fighting the gedo mazo.. Hopefully we don't come back to that fight to many casualties.

Hashirama and Madara did not start their respective clans, but their ambitions drove them to the seat of power within each. Considering that it took Madara and Izuna's acquisition of their mangekyou for them to lead the clan.. it would seem that Madara was already heading down the wrong path since before his brother died. But why?! I think that it will be revealed within the coming flashbacks.

To be honest until now kishi has been on point now, he's back to long story telling. ALL I am interested in is madara and hashirama freindship and their family history but it was cool too see that senju were not always cool headed and that the path of love & peace probably started thru hashirama himself.

Hashirama's father was a very stern ninja. Looks like having such a rough childhood shaped the God of Shinobi quite well. Was not expecting Madara to have such an open personality. It was funny to see another side of the most feared name of all the ninja world. Maybe theres a side still within Madara that he has been suppressing because of his hatred towards the world.

The underlying theme here is that war shapes the worst outcomes for everyone. War caused Madara to become who he is today, and why he is pursuiong Tsuki no Me.

Great chapter
