of course it needs character development
but (i dont hate kabuto) who gives a f^ck about kabuto?
i mean its not so bad that kishi showed us more of him
but it was not the right time
anyone expected "yeah today we're gonna see izanami!"
but then
9 wasted pages of flashbacks
and this wasnt even a good character development
just something about his head bleeded
he got his glasses from a woman
and he got adopted
we didnt learn anything from it

Actually, we learned that there was something different from what we thought kabuto's backstory was. It looks like he was found by a sister of an orphanage first, not by a Konoha medical officer. I'm not sure where Kishi is going with this, but did no one help kabuto try to regain his memory?

It would have been nice to know more about Izanami. I have to agree there are one too many flashbacks of Kabuto; those should have been done back when the first round happened. It's interesting that this chapter is called "Nothing" when there was a recent chapter titled "No One" for Madara. So, we have a Nothing and a No One fighting this war. Sounds like a subtle dig at war by Kishi - these two call themselves "tools." I think this chapter was a very subtle one - one that many of you have missed because you want this thing to finish, which is understandable. It appears that Kishi has more to say...
However, it is interesting that Itachi, when he spoke, was thinking of Naruto when he spoke of living in lies and acknowledging your failures/weaknesses and relying on others to watch your back. It will be interesting to see how much of that has been passed on to Sasuke. It may be a build up to something other than just the conclusion of this particular battle - it's a build up to the conversation that awaits Sasuke and Itachi, which I certainly want to know about. It may also hint of the once-unthinkable: Sasuke's heart, and allegiances, changing.

IMO Bleach was better than naruto this week.
the only good thing was seeing itachi being impaled by stalactites and stalagmites. Guess rock formation > itachi. :scorps:

If you are that upset with this chapter and the manga, perhaps that's what you should do. However, Kishi, has a message and a couple of things to build up to - including that conversation between Sasuke and Itachi, though I'd wager that Sasuke is learning a great deal about what has occurred from the comments that Itachi has made thus far. Kishi is trying to build a wall around all the activity in this war and I think this event is no exception. There's something coming. Just be patient.

Not only that, but we also learned that the only aspect of Kabuto that he still maintains, his glasses, are seemingly a keepsake of the sister that rescued him! I did find it odd that, despite being a superhuman sage, he still wore glasses. All the deceit and treachery that he painted as his childhood are directly at odds with this flashback. Is Itachi messing with Kabuto's head right now using Izanami? Perhaps Itachi's rewriting Kabuto completely into a model Leaf ninja or something, to get Kabuto to release the Edo Tensei? Otherwise, Kabuto's either really misunderstood his childhood, or there's about to be some seriously bad mojo occurring in the flashback.

the only reason i dont like the flashback is because there is going to be more next week will be more flashback. and the little bit of fighting was weak it'll be better animated though

Very anticlimatic. The end of last week's chapter built up so much hype about Inzanami. The only good thing about this chapter was seeing a new sage jutsu from Kabuto. It's nice to see a character's backstory, but not after how last week ended. I hope this has something to do with Itachi's jutsu.
i didn't like it. Kabuto had earlier said that he needs to focus to control so many edo 's. now he's in sage mode battling itachi and sasuke while still controlling edo madara (which alone should require focus) - plus others. amidst all the other shit that's going on, we are now going into his past. FOCUS KISHI.

I don't mind getting a flashback every now and then, especially if it's one about a character we don't know much about, and a villain at that. But that was really bad timing, he built up Izanami, then nothing, and the way he set-up the flashback was terrible. Why the hell is Itachi protecting Sasuke? He has his own damn Susanoo! This chapter would have been accepted by most if it was later on, after giving more insight on Izanami, but it was trolled (for now).
I think a lot of people are tired of getting trolled, it's good to have suspense and all, but everything in excess is bad. Once you're doing it over and over it's not longer suspenseful, it's ****ing annoying.

It was definitely better than the last two chapters, but still disappointing. Finding out a bit more about Kabuto's origins seemed kinda interesting, but it's probably gonna be like remembering A and B's origins, so it's probably gonna last another 2-3 chapters. The one highlight, in my opinion, was that jutsu that Kabuto used. That was pretty sick.
