Does anyone speculate the man behind the mask could very well be the talented Shisui Schiha? Not much is known about him other than he was supposedly "disposed" of?

I think Tobi is either three people:
1. Izuna. My theory on this is what if Izuna and Madara traded each other eyes instead of both. Just a theory.
2. Shisui.. Its possible.. His body was never recovered. Plus, anyone ever notice that shisui did in fact have the MS.. I looked this up before I decided to post. HE WAS THE BEST GENJUTSU USER, TOBI I GOOD WITH GENJUTSU. MAYBE ENOUGH TO BE INTANGIBLE .
3. Maybe then is the Father of the Uchiha clan no one knows of his existence, or the SO6P.. There were 10 tails and there are 9 Jinchuuriki, did he ever die?..

The Uchiha clan has alot of hidden secrets and alot of eyes that been confiscated for experimenting and MS and EMS.. We just know that Madara isn't Tobi now.

Who else could it be.. Sasuke saw his Father and Mother murdered by Itachi butis it possible that Itachi perhaps used the MS and faked the slaying of their parents. lol Just saying that for fun.

Yeah, I agree. I heard alot of people say before tody that Madara was simply a white Zetsu cloan--and I just called that hypothosis a peice of complete and total cheezy crap. (Swiss, to be exact )

But now knowing that this Madara is a fake, I wouldn't be suprised. I think he was supposed to be a trump card of some sort that the real Madara left behind (but wasn't resurrected the way he thought so now he's ticked).

Well, we know the man making all this noise is an imposter. Cloan, brother, Obito, whatever. He isn't Madara and only time will tell as to who he really is. Why argue, people? It's not like it's going to affect Kishi's decitions on his writing.

I would agree in a fact that Madara gave the Rinnegan to Nagato and Nagato should resurrect him with the technique he used to resurrect the entire village of Konoha. Which also mean that Madara allowed himself killed by Nagato once because Nagato can only resurrect those who killed by him.
That's why he thought that Nagato is the one who resurrected him when first awoken from the coffin.

The man behind the masked would be a clone of Madara by Zetsu or just sumone else behind the mask, just in case Nagato did not work on the plan they had agreed on and that's what had happened so far. That masked man also took back the Rinnegan from Nagato so that he could resurrect real Madara back from dead but since Kabuto already did that, he need the Rinnegan for sumthing else.

So, my theory saying that the masked man who fought with the Third Hokage is a different person from the present masked man might be correct.

Yet, i'm still confused...

Here is something to think about. Kabuto summoned Madara, obviously, so that means that he knows who the real person is behind that mask. Being that tobi is not Madara, y doesnt he just take him out and take the sharingan for himself. Kabuto with his newfound abilities and summoning powers culd take on whoever this dud is, right or wrong?

Just because he's not Madara it doesn't mean that he's weak, he still got Rinnegan and Sharingan wich according to Kabuto could allow him to gain control on him and cancel Edo Tensei

No i take what i said way back. I think Itachi will first approach the edo Madara. The edo Madara still has some soul of the real Madara right? Itachi then will tell the story of Naruto or especially Nagato. Then with Itachi's words to his own father, edo Madara will somehow break the edo and come to life like Itachi. The mummy dude will have to die and vanish. This leaves Madara being able to have the chance to fight Tobi. By then, Kabuto should have escaped.

According to Itachi, Shisui gave away both of his eyes then later died i believe. So I don't think its possible. Not to mention Madara had an interest in getting one of shisui's eyes from Danzo before he died and destroyed it. I somehow don't think he would have given it up to him in the first place if he wanted it that badly.

A must point out.. Tobi's showing sharingan is his Rightone and Kakashi's showing sharingan is his left one.. Neither of them can stop the use of their sharigan's so could Tobi actually be Obito. only problem is Obito's eye was supposed to have been crushed..

well here is my version in theory of who Tobi can really be..

I'll give my opinion why Tobi is not Madara
1. By the way that Madara describes the IWR jutsu , he simply loathes it. He would not choose to be brought back and must have witnessed it sometime in the era of the 2nd hokage
2. What motives would the real Madara have in controlling the 4th Mizukage??

I personally believe that Tobi is an Apprentice of Madara, I mean the whole Naruto series is about how one generation passes on their will to the next. Like how each master shows their pupil the "actual life lessons".
Tobi must be upset that his master was killed and that's why he decided to 'pretend' being madara; which backfired since the moment that Kabuto showed him the 6th coffin.

Right! Be a medical ninjutsu type he could do whatever the hell he wants and get away with it lol. IF Madara was summoned by Kabuto, then he does infact know who the imposter is. But im still going with my theory assuming no one else thought of it, that the man behind the mask is Shisui Uchiha. 1) body never recovered 2) body never summoned back to life(with his eyes kabuto could have a huge advantage) 3) shrouded in mystery

i would like to add that the current chapter adds to the validity of my theory.....

now we have madara ems version thats been edo'd and his first words are "so it finally happened, it would appear that little brat nagato managed to grow"

this implies he thinks nagato resurrected him.....he doesn't realize he's a zombie yet

and then he seems disgusted by the fact that edo tensai was used, this further implies that he thought nagato had brought him back

why? because thats the last thing his soul remembered before goin to the pure world

now masked madara also expected nagato to use gedo on him because they are one in the same and its the same memory
