Actualy, Naruto is full of elements we already read in the harry potter series. In the starting chapters I was amazed at the similarity between orochimaro & voldemort. Both used evil powers; both were obsessed with the idea of immortality; and both used snakes as weapon or emblem and a lot more. And now the similarity between madara and our beloved lord can't escape our notice!
I don't know if Kishi was inspired by Rowling (i didn't see anything about that on the net), but the refrences are too much to be incidental.
As for madara being cautious, not a bad idea! Maybe he is the only one who fully knows the potential of kyubi, so he's just waiting for the right moment to launch his assault.

• Naruto, according to Kakashi, and the Toads, is already stronger in some ways than his father was.
• Madara is in a weakened state, even with his new Rinnegan, and Sharingan.

Naruto is indeed strong and possibly stronger than his pa. Although yondaime beat madara in a hand to hand battle, i think if madara had persisted & continued the battle, yondaime stood no chance against him ( just my fancy, no fact). This explains why yondaime sealed the nine tails inside his son; he knew well that he was not madara's match. Not only him, but all the living ninjas couldn't par with madara. Here, enters the kyubi and disturbs the balance of power in favour on Uzumaki Naruto.

You're forgetting about one major factor here.. Sasuke. I don't like him much at the moment, but his power, and his skill are undeniable. Sasuke, and Naruto may very well fight, but I believe the fight would end in a draw, and more than likely Sasuke would turn on Madara. He probably will either way, because he can't be that stupid.

I have 2 theories:
1- Sasuke is a tragic hero and he's gonna have a tragic downfall. Thus' like other tragedies, some other lovely characters would fall victim to his unjustified rage towards konoha. Naruto is no exception and would eventually sink along naruto. But before that happens, naruto kicks madara's ...!

2- as you said, their fated battle ends in a draw. Sasuke recognizes who the main culprit is and joins forces with naruto and they together put an end to madara's mischief, once and for all.

i think naruto and sasuke's match will end much like the hashirama and madara fight and elder bro and younger bro, with uchiha losing but not dying (for like the 3rd important time) but this time they don't hate each other anymore b/c after all , brothers , no matter how freaking it takes, mend their differences cuz they ARE related after all and it will take naruto and sasuke to FINALLY figure that they aren't really THAT different and it would be better to stop fighting someone else fight and work together to kick A$$ . well thats just my idea >_< but i hope kishi makes a twist

I hope not, but I do kinda' hope that Kishi uses this whole thing to tell us what happened to the girl on Kakashi's old team. We know what happened to Obito.

If it is destined for kakashi to die in this battle i like him to end it in the same way he did the other time; entangled in the boulders alone, like a true hero, sole and melancholic, choosing his death by his own free will. However it would take tremendous effort for a non ocular type to get rid of kakashi.

Eight gate?? Don't think so, not everyone can open the gates. Most probably Kakashi is going to use the techs of the hidden mists or may be some new technique he made.

I don't think it's a technique he made he'll use a technique he copied I mean he hyped the fight about him being the man who copied a thousand jutsu. But I bet it'll be something unique.

First off let me start by saying thats a hilarious signature
i do want to see more of Rin (the teamate of kakashi in his chronicles.) it doesnt make sense that kishimoto just left it at the girl is dead but doesnt show up how.... hopefully it will give us a chapter or something on it, because id like to know what happened and have it play a significant role in kakashi's way of thinking or fighting. kakashi will most likely only die protecting team seven members such as sakura sasuke and naruto. i placed sasuke's name there becuase even like naruto, kakashi would protect sasuke if madara turned on him or vice versa.... i even think that if sasuke was extremly hurt on the battle field and was in danger, kakashi and naruto both try to help him, even if that meant fighting madara to save him.

You got a good point there now that Naruto can control the Kyuubi's action he can merge with both the toads but its highly unlikely that it will happen I guess mainly because Naruto has now gone through the Sennin Mode phase and now is learning something new.
