no, I don't think minato can be summoned. The dead demon sealed minato's soul. I'm sure kabuto is not more powerful than the demon to steal minato's soul from him. Minato is gone forever. So is Hiruzen.

i have something to say... we know that minato soul was sealed away when he sealed the kyubis chakra.. But i remember when orochimaru was fighting the third..he summoned three coffins with 1st, 2nd and 4th on it.But then the third stopped the 4th one from comming up. So im thinking he can summon ppl back like the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd, ....maybe even the 4th.. Unless kishi overlooked this and its just a plot hole in the story.

& that made me think of another question why didn't Madara & his brother just trade eyes that would have saved both of them from going blind & gave both EMS?

I can see it now. Supposing Madara has Shinra Tensei like Pain did, I am imagining him amassing a large scale one like the one on Konoha on the army. Right when that shit is about to hit, the ****ing Nine-Tails comes up and deflects it back haha.

This chapter was *** in manga form. I think Jiraiya is going to make an appearance, and I really want Naruto to fight Zabuza haha.

I am anxious to see Kimmimaro. He was sick last time they fought, and now he's dead he has nothing holding him back. He was able to put up a spectacular fight just on willpower alone.

About the Jinchuuriki's. I think that even though they are dead, they can still use tailed beasts abilities. Though if Roshi or Utakata were to transform, it wouldn't be the true tailed beasts, it would just be an undead version of the tailed beasts. It's like how Deidara blew himself up, yet Kabuto still managed to resurrect him the way he was before he did so. The Jinchuurikis should be able to transform into tailed beasts, but the actual tailed beasts are in the Gedo Mazo statue.

Wow great chapter 5 outof 5. Former akatsuki members shouldn't be too hard too handle.. but the former jinchurikis might cause some deaths.. and i know for sure that the former kages will kill alot of shinobi in the joint army.

Sasuke's eyes are going to change naruto forever.. He will be the best uchiha I can feel it. Naruto using his fox chakra is so awsome I want to know how powerful his Spiriling-wind release rasengan will be!!!

Yamato is the first to go.. so sad I think madara will eventually kill him since kabuto wants him so bad.. Kakashi being a general is badass.. even shikamaru made a general, behind gaara of course.

Madara will kill many.. I dont kno who is going to try to kill him but whoever approaches him will likely die. I want to see itachi vs kakashi again.. I think kakashi can take him on now. It will be very fun seeing nagato fight again with his real body!!

actually i think hidan is dead because i believe he needed to practice his religion to preform his jutsu and immortality....thats why he wasnt summoned..because he must practice the religion to preform jutsu......Besides he wouldnt be very helpfull anyway cause all the undead army is immortal

im not sure what the limit of souls being called in for edo tensei is.
im not sure if anyone can resist the lure that is cast.
i would hope someone like jiraiya would be protected by such things, but if itachi and chiyo can be brought back, i dont see why anyone can't be summoned.
which might indicate that kabuto would be able to summon someone like the oringinal sage of the six paths.

also notice that before orochimaru has put the kunai seals in them, they are themselves and recognize sarutobi. they look dead too, like they could decay any moment. but they still talk to him and everything!

still prior to the seal being placed within them, they know that they've been summoned by orochimaru, and are surprised he could do it.

sarutobi hints that edo tensei is a space time technique.
"nothing good will come of playing with time..."

orochimaru says as hes putting the seals into them, "i really must have the both of you return to your TRUE FORMS"

meaning that only with the seal being placed does he give them the full power of edo tensei and their old selves. just having a sacrifice body and summoning the spirit, isnt enough. you must then place the seals within them to fully bring them back strong.

on the next page after the seals are placed within them we see them rejuvenate and seem to fill with energy and regain their original powers.

then one of the anbu explains that the "fuda" placed within them removes their personalities making them killing machines.

he mentions that to bind the soul of the dead back into this world, that a corpse is needed as a sacrifice. that means that kabuto has killed and collected 30+ bodies for these summons. he is a mass murderer, "FOR SURE!"

the same rejuvenating of deidara, but kabuto explains that this "fuda" talisman is different in that it leaves some of deidaras mind and personality within the resurrected body. so the soul retains self-awareness and may only be shut down by the fuda chosen for them.

here sarutobi explains that even if orochimaru were to die, the summons would remain. that is a scary thought. after the talisman is placed, that soul is back in action, and will play out the role it was given with the talisman i would assume.
like putting a code into a computer. it just processes it, and runs it.
what code/fuda/talisman/seal will kabuto use for these poor souls?
will they all be killing machines? or will they be more like deidara was and have some of their personalities remain?

later sarutobi admits that he must do something about the SOULS that are trapped, that being the only way to defeat them.
it seems as if the only thing he knows that will free them, is the dead demon seal. which is a bummer... because he was hailed as knowing every jutsu in konoha. and if thats the only one? BUMMER!
edo tensei is a severe threat, and i worry that many divisions of the joint shinobi forces will not be equipped to deal with this threat.

as much as we do know... it seems that so much of edo tensei is still a mystery. as is kabuto's motives and the true extent of his power and knowledge. he seems to be the real villain now, like was said earlier. not madara.

the table is set, but the first move has yet to have been made.
i predict the joint shinobi will strike first. ambush team, go!

Though I'd like to say one thing, if you think about it, Kabuto leaving Deidara's personality is actually BETTER than not doing so. He still controls what Deidara does. Deidara is still HIS puppet. However, by leaving Deidara's personality, he insures that he can do other things while Deidara fights. Orochimaru had to control the movements of the First and Second and sychronize them all by himself, and that leaves him open to attack.

My assumption is, Orochimaru's tag means that he is pretty much fighting, just using the others abilities. So it's one person using two other bodies. You notice that when the first and second fought the third, Orochimaru just stood there.

Kabuto on the other hand, has given Deidara a purpose. He can make Deidara watch his back while he fights, or synchronize his own movements with Deidara, and Deidara actually responds. Kabuto doesn't have to worry about turning is back in a fight, because Deidara, who is still himself, just under Kabuto's control, will watch his back. It can be used offensively or defensively.

Like I said above about Orochimaru just standing there while the third fought the first and second, Kabuto is free to do as he pleases while the others fight.

Wrong. In the manga he summons 3, but you don't see what's written in the 3rd coffin. The ones seen have "1st" and "2nd" written on it. Besides, if a soul within the death reaper could be summoned for EdoTensei, why wouldn't kabuto summon the 1st, the 2nd, the 3rd and the 4th along with the other kages? They sure are powerfull on their own. More powerfull than for example, Haku or Chyo. He didn't summoned them because he can't since they're sealed inside the death god. The anime was made after the manga, and at that time, kishi probably didn't think he would need to explore the "edo tensei theme" on the story later on. It's like kakashi being seen using fire in the anime but not in the manga. Does it make sense that he can use it? yes....but in the manga, does he use it? no...

What an insane group. i don't know whats going on but I got a feeling that somehow some way some lucky point, that the Alliance will win, As much as that would suck it will be done. But I am hoping that some people die, like Shikamaru, Neiji and Tsunade, at the hands of their lover, father and teacher.

But where is Danzo and especially where is Kisame. Hmm? WTF Kishimoto, I wanted to see Kisame again, and hopefully he is used in the war, and kills allot of guys.

The alliance head protector looks amazing. And Sasukes eyes? Will be revealed soon! I bet that when the battle is going bad for Akatsuki, Madara will warp Sasuke there to test his powers, and if that happens I personally think that either Naruto will sense this or Kakashi will unlock his EMS(I HOPE SO)

but I think the victory that Akatsuki will get is allot of kills and the 8 tails, and it will only be Naruto, or maybe even the Kyuubi will be taken and extracted, naruto survives and is able to somehow acquire the other half.

okay? so you admit there was a third coffin that sarutobi stopped from coming up and opening? in the manga and in the anime. which mirror each other almost perfectly in most respects, especially that early in the show. and if you claim it wasnt the 4th hokage, then who the hell was it?
its pretty obvious that it was meant to be minato. who else wouldve been summoned and wouldve scared sarutobi so much that he had to try and prevent it?

i do disagree a little, though.

i think they were being set into "frenzy" mode by the fuda that orochimaru used.
i dont think he would know how to control them anyways.

and i believe he was standing there watching because it gave him an extreme amount of pleasure to see sarutobi struggle so hard.
and not only that, he knew that if he attacked sarutobi also, that sarutobi wouldnt be able to fight them all at the same time, so he let his old master struggle against his own former masters. it was like a type of torture for sarutobi and orochimaru was loving every second of it.
i think the type of talisman that orochimaru used, just turned the two previous hokages into killing machines aimed at sarutobi.

but even without transforming, all jinchuriki use their tailed beast's chakra. If you see naruto creating hundreds of clones, you know he wouldn't be able to do that without the kyubi. The bijuu also helps against genjutsu. I can't remember if bee really did that, but it's another advantage of being a jinchuriki.

Take naruto for instance. what could he do without the kyubi's chakra? He'd be exhausted after a few shadow clones and probably couldn't make many rasengans because of that. Some of his chakra was also inherited from kushina, but it's not that much.
unless they somehow manage to kill kabuto first and break that jutsu. I can't wait to see how they'll do it

Hate to disagree with you friend but your analysis of naruto's chakra is incorrect. Naruto has a huge chakra on his own without the kyubi (as evidence go back to when he was about to learn sage mage, but also comments made by Jariya when training and observing him) naruto's own chakra has been getting stronger since he was a little kid because it was also being used to keep the nine tails in check...like any other muscle and ability the more you use it the stronger it gets.


Also another point you mentioned....Killer bee actually did use his 8 tails to snap him out of a genjutsu that sauske put him in when they were fighting. In fact right after sauske used it he thought he had subdued KB and 2 seconds later he got up and super-lariat-smacked sauske with one blow which would have killed him if jugo wasnt there to save him.

Naruto's father had a huge chakra as well becasue thats what it takes to being able to wield the rasengan. Which is why you only see three people using it regularly- naruto, jariya and minato.

I DO AGREE WITH YOU ON THE FIRST POINT. To some degree all the host use there tailed beasts charkra without transforming.

Haha no doubt one of the best chapters EVER written! But I think now the question is, who will die? I think it's safe to say that characters like Sakura, Shikamaru (because he has been slated to become the mentor for Asuma's kid), and Sai will remain. Sai mainly because he isn't really a beloved character, then again isn't particularly hated either, so it wouldn't be as heart wrenching if he died, nor as satisfactory. But I get the feeling that possibly Choji, Akamaru, and Shikamaru's dad might bite the dust. Nothing against any of them at all: but Choji just seems to strike me as the type who would be a casualty, doesn't seem at all to have that touch of violence in his soul to survive a war like this. Akamaru...well hell. What's worse than seperating man from his best friend? And Shikaku (spelled right?) because now is the time to pass the torch on to the next generation, and technically, he IS a player for the Leaf. It would be a crippling blow...

OK i was thinking if the Zetsu's are made from the Wood element does that mean when Naruto is in Kyuubi mode will it somehow effect the Zetsu's since we saw that Yamato's Wood element was effected so maybe there is someway Naruto can control it to somehow beat the Zetsu's

Good comment...I have been nursing a theory about this same point....I believe that naruto has more up his sleeve than he knows and as soon as he discovers it, i honestly think he will be able to wipe out all of the zetsu clones in one motion. The reason is because of his senju blood line...if we go back to yamato's unsolicited reaction to naruto's presence ( remember he didnt even do anything) yamato got stronger...so I also believe he will have that type of impact on things based on nature (ie: zetsu comes from plants)...he will be able to also take away life (from zetsu's) similar to how he can absorb nature energy around him. That is also the last part of my theory, right now from what we have seen naruto when he goes rs mode is not using sage jutsu he is only using the kyubi stored chakra...What would happen if he goes rs mode then applies the sage jutsu and sucks in nature energy as well ....I envision Madara would simply drop a turd or two in his pants!!!
