Naruto improved the jutsu even more. Remember when he first used it against kakusu or w.e his name was?? He had to hit him as if it was a normal rasengan, but when he was training for sage mode he improved it to be able to throw it hence he doesnt get hit by the FRS meaning he can use it withouit hurting himself.

What do you guys think when the kyuubi said This is...the sage of six paths? Was that his jutsu where those block things come down on the tails and body of the monsters or something. Is naruto the SO6P?

What the Kyuubi said was "This is... The Sage of Six Paths'... "

The Kyuubi didn't finish the sentence... He was going to say "The sage of six paths something...", and I say this with 100% because in english we have this grammar rule:

John's ball : the ball belongs to John...
but if the name of the person ends with an S, like James... you don't say James's ball. You only say James' ball.

So, the kyuubi was actually saying The Sage of Six Paths's something... Maybe saying the sage's jutsu, or his seal, or chakra... I don't know. But he clearly wasn't saying that Naruto was the Sage of Six Paths himself.

i believe that the kyubi recognized naruto as the so6p because of the chakra he was ingulfed in (if thats a word lol) and when the kyubi got sealed i believe that was his body getting sealed just like the jyubi's body was sealed in the moon according to madara, the kyubi was sealed within naruto so the body has to go somewhere there for the body is sealed within naruto...

edit: after rereading the chapter i noticed that the lock on the cage the kyubi has been sealed in was the same as the one minato sealed him with, the chakra naruto was ingulfed in might just be part of minatos jutsu activating when naruto inherits the kyubis chakra allowing him to seal the kyubi's body again.

I like this interpretation. We know that the sage of the 6 paths broke the 10-tails up into the other 9 beasts and sealed them variously into himself and his children. We also know eventually that the first hokage had several tailed beasts similarly sealed inside himself. If the fox was in the first hokage and later in Naruto's mother, I think we can assume that the fox has been passed down from the sage of the six paths, through his children, to hashirama, and ended up as a kind of "national treasure" for the leaf village. The same as how the 8-tails was passed down in Killer Bee's village.

I don't know why the fox compared Naruto to the great sage (we don't really know whether he was comparing Naruto or Naruto's sealing technique, or the technique of sealing the body away from the chakra). It is an interesting comparison, however. I think we really are going to see the rivalry between Naruto and Sasuke being compared to the rivalry between the great sage's children.

This episode was quite the cliff-hanger. I can't wait to see what Kishi decides to show for the big 500th episode. Two ideas:

1) We start a gaiden for the 4th hokage and Naruto's mother, where we see the events of the attack 16 years ago (most likely)
2) We go back to Sasuke, and see the reveal of his EMS. Actually, if I am right about the comparison of Naruto vs Sasuke to the rivalry between the sage's children, I think we would see something even more powerful: Sasuke gets the EMS and the Rinnegan (eyes that rival the power of the sage himself).

Either way, this episode was awesome and next one will hopefully be even better. I really can't wait to see what kinds of new abilities Naruto gets from this new power.

Seriously epic chapter, super duper epic!! Naruto and his mom must be a descendant of the senju, which is why she is able to partially able to contain a tailed beast. But the 9 tails is so powerful that he can't completely be controlled ... i.e. that dark planet he created that crumbled when naruto sealed him...still so much power he controls...but that is able to be sealed away.

For some reason Kushina didn't have control over the Fox b/c it attacked the village. The question is, how did she loose control, and how did Madara gain control to get it to attack Konoha?? And if the Kyuubi was removed and set free, wouldn't Kushina then have died?? I guess it'll all get answered in 2 weeks!!

As for Naruto being the SO6, I don't think he is, but is only a decendant, those rings around his neck I think are symbols for how many "tails" he controls. There were six on the neck, 2 on the shoulders and 1 in the middle = 9 tails. I think the sage must have had those markings because he controlled the 10 tails.

Personally i prefer the Sleepyfans(at onemanga) over Binktopia(at ***********) even thought it`s almost always later out than the Binktopia.

One of the reasons is that it`s a lot easier to understand sometimes and uses a lot of easier, clearer and more understandable words than binktopia.

I think that must be the most discussed sentence between me and a fellow Naruto fan. What they meant by that, that is.

But overall i like both transelation even though Binktopia can be a little... not understandable sometimes and Sleepyfans not being accurate.

Everyone has their preference. Just keep in mind important story stuff ( namely stuff like 5 hokage versus specificly Hokage ) go with binktopia.

Tardiness means lateness...that isn't an issue with the translation as much as your semantics, they mean the same thing, but you're looking deeper than necessary.

The way I understood this chapter is that Naruto absorbed the fox's chakra, and completely sealed away its hate using a jutsu that is available only to both a sage and jinchuuriki (as the SO6P was). As for the SO6P, he has inherited the true version of the SO6P's chakra and will. Specifically from the Sage chakra (hence SAGE of the Six Paths) jinchuuriki chakra (as the SO6P was a host as well), and now the his will has been fortified from understanding his own hate and the meaning of love from meeting both his mother and father. It seems Naruto has surpassed those before him, if First Hokage was his ancestral counterpart, then Sasuke is likewise linked to Madara. It seems that Sasuke will soon surpass Madara just as Naruto has done.

Also as for Naruto's sage abilities in the mental realm being stronger than normal it is likely because his physical body was able to constantly gain nature chakra. In the fight with Pain it was stated that Naruto could only summon 2 clones to gather nature chakra, and only summon two more as any more would disrupt the clones' ability to gain and store nature chakra. Therefore, with his original body staying still and his control over the flow of chakra more stable (than using clones) summing 100+ clones was just like being normal pre-sage Naruto again.

Kishi really likes similarities between characters, especially in traits and abilities.

Slight problem. This is being translated from japanese, not originally in english. Meaning sage for one thing can't automatically be same thing in another. Sen in senjutsu on it's own is something along the lines of thousand. We had jiraiya in hermit mode ( the word for sage mode is can also mean hermit and a few other things ).

my guess... kushina was probably still all hormonal after giving birth to naruto so when madara attacked she lost her temper and went all PMS which allowed the fox to take over. the fox had taken over but there was still part of kushina in the fox so when minato sealed the fox away he also sealed what was left of kushina. madara also used this opportunity to control the fox now that kushina had lost control. when minato brought out baby naruto, kushina was able to fight back against the fox from with in to protect him. that weakened the fox enough to allow minato to seal it in naruto.

Pretty great chapter. Love that Naruto was able to get the necessary calmness and peace to defeat the Kyuubi from his mother telling him "I love you!" Kind of cheesy, but great nonetheless. Also kind of disappointed that no mention of the "Orange Hokage" was made.

Naruto with the Kyuubi's chakra absorbed was probably one of the coolest things I have ever seen in the manga. It even kind of looks like he has little chakra fox ears, and the swirls behind him could have been tails. That'd be cool. I thought the visible seal was neat too, especially the necklace, since it does so closely resemble that of the Sage of the Six Paths. I'm certainly curious to see what Kyuubi meant by his comment, as well as what Naruto meant with his "I don't want to hurt you" type comments.

For anyone who predicted and seriously believed Kushina to be the previous nine-tails jinchuuriki, I offer you serious Kudos. That was honestly the last thing I expected to be revealed. It opens up inumerable possibilities, and a lot of questions, like:
As far as we are aware, Naruto was born the day the fox attacked. If Kushina was the jinchuuriki, how did it escape and she later help to seal it in Naruto? And what is Madara's role? The story she is about to tell encompasses more than just the day of the attack ("the year you were born"). Is it possible the Kyuubi was extracted earlier and she survived? I personally think it more likely that the Kyuubi was somehow extracted, maybe for Naruto's sake (Ie jinchuuriki cannot safely carry a child), but I'm not sure how it would hold up. There seem to be some contradictions right now, but I'm sure they will be explained.
Also, was Kushina aware she was the jinchuuriki? Was Konoha aware she was the jinchuuriki? (Also, if they were and Naruto shares her last name-which I don't think we have been officially told within the manga...how the hell did no one figure out who his parents are?) I lean towards at least the majority of Konoha being unaware. Is her "strange chakra" related to the Kyuubi or not? I lean towards not given the Kyuubi's reaction and the chains. If that is the case, then what does make her chakra strange? Where was Kushina born (officially, in the manga) and why did she come to Konoha as a young child?

The next two weeks are going to be LONG. Thank goodness Naruto and Bleach are rarely on hiatus in the same week! Can't wait for the next chapter, and (finally!) the truth about the Kyuubi incident.

Naruto finally tamed the 9 tails, he resembled as the Sage of Six Paths after gaining the tamed-fox's chakra and the Fox finally acknowledges Naruto's power.

Epic, 500 within 2 weeks is going to be SOMETHING -B.I.G-... can't wait!~

I think the fox was saying "That's the sage of six paths....seal/technique" not that Naruto himself was/is the sage of six paths. Remenber that the original sage created the seals that allow the sealing of biju in jinchuriki. The fox must have noticed that the seal naruto used was the same as the sage.

Let's see if after the time out, the fox will reason with naruto. It isn't over yet. Naruto weaken the fox, but he stil had to seal it. So let's wait and see.

As for kushina...Well, I was wrong. She was a host. But the rules are changing so much...and there are so many "miss-information". No one ever spoke of another host to the nine tails. Always that "natural disaster" deal. Only hope that from now on things will become more consistent.

As for the chapter... 3 out of 5. Would hope for a little more content and less "kage bushins" and "rasengans".

500 will bring Uchiha Sasuke...Kushina's story will have to wait a bit longer I guess.

But this seems a little too much. Naruto now is a Ninja with Wind Chakra, a Toad Sage with Natural Chakra and a Jinchuriki in control of Biju Chakra... Well it's starting to look a little like "tunning" on cars...LOL

Uhm, officially in the manga it stated she was born in the Former Whirlpool country. My guess why is because of the 'former' part. Something happened to the country and she was forced to flee.
