Rinnegan is based off and Hindu conscept of rebirth. There a 6 paths of rebirth and only nirvana can spare you this fate.

Realms
Deva realm

Main article: Deva (Buddhism)

The Deva realm is the realm of bliss and pride. The disadvantage of this realm is that things are so very comfortable there, that these beings completely neglect to work towards enlightenment. Instead they gradually use up the good karma they had previously accumulated, and so they subsequently fall to a lower rebirth.

The Deva realm is sometimes also referred to as the gods' realm, because its inhabitants are so powerful within their own realm, that compared to humans, they resemble the gods of Greek or Roman mythology. However, while the Devas may be referred to as gods, they are not immortal, omniscient, nor omnipotent, and they do not act as creators or judges at death, so they are notably very distinct from the monotheistic Western concept of God.

[edit] Asura realm

Main article: Asura (Buddhism)

The Asura realm is the realm of the demigods. They are here because of actions based on jealousy, struggle, combat or rationalization of the world. They may be here because in human form they had good intentions but committed bad actions such as harming others.

The Asuras are said to experience a much more pleasurable life than humans, but they are plagued by envy for the devas, whom they can see just as humans can perceive animals.

The Asura realm is also sometimes referred to as the Ashura realm, Titan realm, Jealous God realm, Demigod realm, or Anti-God realm. Asura is also sometimes translated as "demon," "fighting demon," "those without wine," or "frightened ghost," which can cause confusion because beings of the hell realm are also sometimes referred to as demons.

[edit] Human realm

Main article: Human beings in Buddhism

The Human realm (also known as the Manuṣya realm) is based on passion, desire, and doubt.

Buddhists see this realm as human existence. A human rebirth is in fact considered to be the by far most advantageous of all possible rebirths in samsara because a human rebirth is the only samsaric realm from which one can directly achieve enlightenment. This is because of the unique possibilities that a human rebirth offers.

A human rebirth is considered to have tremendous potential when used correctly, however human rebirths are very rare in occurrence. This is because we usually waste our human lifetime in materialistic pursuits, and end up reinforcing our unhelpful emotions, thoughts, and actions. Because of this, it is almost always the case that one descends to a lower rebirth after a human life, rather than immediately going on to another human birth.

In the lower realms, such as for example, the animal realm, it is a very slow and difficult process to accumulate enough merit to achieve a human birth once again, so it may be countless lifetimes before one has another chance.

[edit] Animal realm

Main article: Animals in Buddhism

The Animal realm (also known as the Tiryag-yoni realm) is based on strong mental states of stupidity and prejudice cultivated in a previous life or lives.

Buddhists believe that this realm is the realm of existence of the nonhuman animals on Earth. Humans can however see the animals, in the same way that the Asura can see the Devas.

[edit] Hungry Ghost realm

Main article: Preta

The Hungry Ghost realm (also known as the Preta realm) is a rebirth based on strong possessiveness and desire which were cultivated in a previous life or lives.

The sentient beings in this realm are known as "hungry ghosts". They are constantly extremely hungry and thirsty, but they cannot satisfy these needs. In Tibetan versions of the Bhavacakra these beings are drawn with narrow necks and large bellies. This represents the fact that their desires torment them, but they are completely unable to satisfy themselves.

[edit] Naraka realm

Main article: Naraka (Buddhism)

The Naraka realm, or "hell realm" is a rebirth based on strong states of hatred cultivated in a previous life or lives.

The Buddhist view of the Naraka realm differs significantly from that of most monotheistic religions in that those being punished in this realm are not trapped permanently. Rather, they remain there until their negative karma is used up, at which point they are reborn into another realm.

ghost realm is fat pein(absords jutsu), animal realm is lonhair pein with ponytail(summons animals),deva realm is yahiko pein(so cool and powerfull jutsu)

hindu is a religion form india and other eastern countries. They beleave in karma(no bad deed goes unpunished).Samsara(6 paths of rebirth) is the path you go when you die based on your karma(good weighted agianst the bad). There are six paths.Deva,Asura,Human,Naraka,Animal,Pret(hungry ghost).Nirvana(enlightenment )is the only way to be free of the cycle of rebirth. If you re-read whats in the spoiler area in my previous post you will see that I said fat pein(one with ponyatail) can absorb any jutsu and the hungry ghost eat life energy.(chakra is life enrgy). The pein that looks like deideara uses summonig jutsu and can only summon animals(humans are animals to). Then theres Yahiko body that has ninjutsu(Deva)and has been shown using mostly s-rank jutsu with ease. There you go the explaination to where Kishimoto got rinnegan from.

Rinnegan means Samsara eye.

then iwas thinking that my theory would that yamat no orchi is also an antagonist but watever
Thats orochimaru`s jutsu and Some what like that its that he split his body inot six paths of rebirth.I think to make him more poerful since he could only use one jutsu at a time but now he can use many and attack/defend seamless ly

not to be rude but i was saying about the story you have over yamata-no-Orochi is kind of misleading, beacuse that's not the real kanshi mythology of what Yamata-no-Orochi is...eventhough it is called the 8 headed serpent i doubt that it can be the bijuu since zensu or zetsu don't know his name saw how Itachi with Susanoo vanquished the 8 headed snake = orochimaru = yamata-no-Orochi and thus pointless for Madara to send Sasuke to capture the 8 tailed beast if one of the remaining akatski knows that Itachi vanquished it...yamata-no-Orochi is just a Serpent Orochi just meaning serpent which is equal to Orochimaru so yea it is an antagonist cuz it is orochimaru the one that attacked konoha and killed sarutobi sensei

hey guys i hope u remember the little history lesson we had a while back on this forum about the story behind Orochimaru, Amaterasu, Tsukuyomi, Susanoo, and the Yata-no-Kagami (mirror), Kusanagi-no-Tsurugi (sword), Yasakani no Magatama (jewel or orb).

Well this is what i found out now, All the Imerial Regalia of Japan (the mirror, the sword, and the jewel/orb) where handed down from susanoo to his heir, Ninigi-no-Mikoto (for me ITACHI) grandson of Amaterasu who was sent to plant rice (weird) In earth he met KONOHAna-Sakuya-hime and married her (ironically) but war broke out in Japan and Amaterasu gave the Imperail Regalia to Ninigi (ITACHI) to pacify japan...[once again the usage of those weapons is mention so far in the manga we have seen two of them Kagami and Kusanagi (the mirror that refelcted sasukes attacks and the sword that killed Orochimaru) so i strongly believe now that the remaining weapon was given to naruto to fight sasuke]

the real one i wanted to show u guys is something called "Jiraiya Goketsu Monogatari " which directly translates to "The Tale of the Gallant Jiraya" (wooooa impressive huh) Jiraya which directly translates to "young thunder" is a ninja who uses shapeshifting techniques to turn into a gigantic toad (once again impressive) Jiraya was the heir of a powerful clan in Kyushu and there he fell in love with no other thaaan princes Tsunade who can use techniques or magic to summon a giant slug, but this is no love story beacuse he had a follower that turned against him his Name OROCHIMARU whose real name was Yashagorō he turned against Jiraya because he couln't control the Snake magic and attacekd and defeated both Jiraya and Tsunade only to be saved by one of Jirayas diciples (naruto??)

It is impressive to see from where does Kishi gets his inspiration, now all this time we have been learning Japanes mythology and folktale and we didn't even know it...still can't find anything about Pein or Madara...they shuold be somewhere in a folktale don't you guys think?
Please give us a source or how can I believe you.. I don't want to hear "oh I found this on another forum" I want some real information. ^ ^

i think that u may have a lil point but dnt forget that orochimaru is quickly taking over kabuto's body so sasuke can still recover the 8 tails if oro really is the 8 tailed beast. so think about it carefully nxt tym n back up ur findings/theory :D but gud try
