Whether he is a genius or not that doesn't matter anyway what i know is that he progress faster and better than your genius's where is neji the genius now? What of shikamaru the genius? They all pale in comparism to naruto and that makes it all better. He even did things genius can't do and don't give me the main character option because i don't know how you expect the main character not to perform genius act.

Naruto's a genius in a way, like an autistic person he's developing extremely fast in matter of chakra control. Just as it was stated many times, one of the Sage's sons received his eyes (Uchihas are descendants and possibly Hyugas, we don't know that for sure) while another received Sages's body/chakra (Senjus are descendants and as stated by Tobi Naruto is related to Senju. Tobi said he can see Hashirama in Naruto). While Sasuke developes his eyes power Naruto develops his chakra control. So Naruto is not particularly gifted with inteligence and he doesn't learn things like other people, he has his own way that leads through experience.
Naruto's chakra control at this point in the manga is for sure one of the best if not the best (wasn't confirmed yet). If you guys think of it, all Naruto trained for all this time was mostly connected to chakra control, since the very beginning Jiraya took him over (Jiraiya by the way new exactly from the beginning what kinda of training Naruto needed): first controlling and using Kyubi's chakra (when he learned how to summon Gamabunta, then he learned rasengan - jutsu strictly based on chakra control, after that he learned how to control his chakra to dispel genjutsu, next was sage mode which was stated that you need not only huge chakra reserves but also very good chakra control to master, Naruto did it within like few days? I like to think that Naruto was able to do it so fast and so well because of Jiraiya's training over chakra control ( I have nothing to prove it though but i think it makes sense) finally Naruto learns how to control and distribute Kyubi's chakra, ah, nearly forgot Rasen Shuriken which also requires very good chakra control.
I think that Naruto can be easily called a genius not only cos of chakra control, he's got pretty good taijutsu if you include frog kata but most importantly, if you take a look at his fights he often comes up with some strategical attacks that allow him to fool his opponents, for example: Neji, Kakuzu, Pain (the last body of Pain), third Raikage.
Naruto's just not very bright if it's abt social interaction but he is smart enough in fight to come up with solutions and tactics.

Actually i prefer naruto's way of battlesmart to shikamaru. Shikamaru can't think when he is attacking or figthing, he either had to hide or be protected to come up with a battle plan while naruto thinks and counter mid battle. Shikamaru use things/people around him while naruto uses what he has. And last of it naruto battle tactics are more cool.

Orochimaru didn't help Sasuke with Kirin at most he gave him some pointers. The words in the middle that say "Sasuke's talent" is the only relevant thing from this post.

Seriously, Naruto had help with Rasenshuriken! Sasuke already knew chakra manipulation and had two chakra natures under his belt, while Naruto didn't even have an element!

He is not the school smarts genius; but he is most certainly a talented one; and he is not a genius of hard work like Lee; he gets most essential power -ups in a few weeks at most; Lee's result of hard work is barely visible after a few weeks. But all of that is partially because of his great chakra reserves and stamina due to his Uzumaki blood. It can't really be considered ''genius'' but instead ''hard working.'' Or you could choose to call him a ''genius of hard work.''

Naruto is constantly aided by Kurama and whoever else happens to be around too :') I personally disagree, Shikamaru has a cool way of doing smart, complicated things without taking up entire manga panels to explain each one (COUGHitachikabutohidanetc.) It's more than just flashy lights.

Yeah but he has an IQ of over 200..do you know what that means? He can obvserb(however u spell that) and come up with a strategy(s) in a matter of seconds that other people wouldnt have known.
