Since Obito tried to become hokage and is paralleled to Naruto, Naruto thinks he's just cool. Even after all he did to him, he of course forgave him. But he thinks current Obito is cool, not kid Obito or whatever.

Itachi chose least of two evils with tears in his eyes while Obito Killed many ppl without regret. Sasuke calling Itachi perfect was an overstatement, but Itachi played the role of a shinobi to perfection with the options that he was given. Itachi possibly said that he made mistakes, because as smart as he was he possibly could have come up with a better answer if he actually tried to get help from those around him instead of trying to take on everything himself.
