As much as I would like it to be mokuton, I think it's actually his cloak as he threw it off to get ready for battle. It looks weird with the lighting and background but to me that's what it looks like.

As Ashura's incarnate he has too much life energy, way more than Hashirama himself.
Every mokuton that naruto touches can't maintain structure.

Naruto gets his life energy benefit from being a uzumaki, not from being a ashura incarnate.

Everyone who said its his cloak sounds retarded. his cloak is white, that thing behind him was brown, the thing behind him was moving like the tree roots do, it was already active so he was probably riding it about to perform kage bunshin too.
