The reason why pain never went after naruto was because of itachi being alive that's why pain attacked konoha after itachi died

he failed to, and the akatsui didn't do shit after that,

jiraya lost against pain, itachi lost against pain, and i don't know about gai but he only knows taijutsu, plus, he is pretty much the same lvl as kakashi so he might just get beat up too.

2) itachi beat nagato
3) gai can wreck paths like preta animal and naraka in gates
4) kakashi is very smart and figured out pain he with the others will kill deva

ummm he only defeated one of the pain.. and i am not underestimate him but pain is really strong, he have rinnegan, he also divided his power into six so it would be easier, remember that battle when naruto was choked by pain himself instead of six people? yea he is stronger if he have all power inside

The capture of jinjurikis was assigned in pairs so everyone will get 1.They had to travel in pairs so they wont draw too much attention in them,if they moved all together, all the villages will be alarmed and with combined forces hey would stomp them.
Itachi had better info on the leaf and it was the strongest among the akatsukis.Pain didn't even go jinjuriki haunting,he just made an exception for Naruto cause everybody else died.
