So first it was Pain instead of Itachi and now it's all the akatsukis??Decide on what exactly you want to say and then say it.
The capture of jinjurikis was assigned in pairs so everyone will get 1.They had to travel in pairs so they wont draw too much attention in them,if they moved all together, all the villages will be alarmed and with combined forces hey would stomp them.
Itachi had better info on the leaf and it was the strongest among the akatsukis.Pain didn't even go jinjuriki haunting,he just made an exception for Naruto cause everybody else died.

pain didn't do shit at that time until every akatsuki members died, and that's why obito had to do everything later on, they would capture all the 9 tails before shippuden comes out

ummm he only defeated one of the pain.. and i am not underestimate him but pain is really strong, he have rinnegan, he also divided his power into six so it would be easier, remember that battle when naruto was choked by pain himself instead of six people? yea he is stronger if he have all power inside
