i made the thread because people were having misconceptions when itachi sealed nagato.

I think that there is a possibilty that we are arguing with naïve little kids here.
If Kabuto truly believed that Itachi was superior to nagato, than why did he use nagato to fight not just Itachi, but two PERFECT jinchuuriki as well at the same time?
Actions speak louder than words and Kabuto's actions clearly say that he considered Nagato to be strong enough to beat all three of them, so the notion that kabuto supposedly admited Itachi to be superior to nagato is complete bull crap.
Another factor is that Kabuto took COMPLETE control over nagato after Itachi broke from the his control, it was not Nagato that the THREE of them were fighting it was Kabuto's puppet with Nagato's powers. Its the same as with sasori using the 3rd Kazekage's powers through his human puppet jutsu, do you honestly think that sasori used the kazekage's powers the same way that the real Kazekage would have used them
You must all remember that Kabuto feared Naruto a lot more than he feared Itachi, he said so himself that naruto was too strong and said that he would USE nagato to capture him or kill him, edo nagato wasn't even focused on Itachi at all and was launching his attacks at the jinchuuriki.

I also do not get why people quote Itachi's feat of hitting nagato with amaterusu, that happened immediately after itachi broke kabuto's control, everyone was shocked by that attack, even Naruto and Bee, why? Because Nagato and Itachi were still partners at the time against naruto and bee, its like if bee suddenly turned on naruto and hit him unexpectedly with a bijuu dama or V2 lariat, are you now gonna say naruto is weaker than Bee? Besides Nagato later repelled those flames with ease using his shinra tensei, why did he let it burn him? Because he was on Naruto's side in mind, him and itachi were freakin telling naruto and bee how and where thay would attack for pete's sake, he only repelled it when he lost control of himself because Kabuto completely took over.
Now as for Itachi figuring out chibaku tensei's weakness, you guys are top class FOOLS.
Did you think Itachi didn't have help in figuring the secrete out, read the manga again, Naruto told him all the information he knew about the chibaku tensei from his own experience of being at the receiving end of it, read it again, Itachi ASKED naruto about the jutsu and only after the explanation did Itachi come up with the solution, in a one on one battle there are no such previledges. THROUGHOUT the battle naruto was feeding Bee and Itachi info about Nagato's techs, I don't like being rude but all the people that actually believe that Itachi beat Nagato on his own are INSANE, He had BEE and NARUTO, TWO S RANK shinobi fighting Nagato head on while he worked from the shadows and only entered the frame during convenient times in the battle, you guys must be morons if you think Itachi pulled off a win on his own.
When sasuke broke Itachi's tsukiyomi with a normal sharingan, zetsu said that it happened because A TOOL is only as strong as the WIELDER, if a STRONG tool is being wielded by a WEAK WIELDER, the stronger opponent with a weak weapon would still win, case in point Nagato was the STRONG tool and Kabuto was the WEAK wielder, Itachi, Bee, and Naruto only did not fight nagato, they fought a puppet.
The people that also believe that Itachi has STRONGER jutsu that nagato are also INSANE, what manga have you been reading? Sasuno'o can easily be dealt with with Human paths SOUL REMOVER technique, every jutsu is made from chakra, if human path don't work there is still preta's chakra absorbtion, just suck up sasuno'o and Itachi is gone.
If those don't work, which is HIGHLY unlikely, than there is the matter of bansho' tenin, gaara used his sand to seperate edo madara from his sasuno'o, if sand can do that then there is no reason that bansho tenin wouldn't work, just pull itachi out and seperate him from sasuno'o like gaara did with his sand. Heck the is also the super fast spirit dragon that nagato used to suck up the souls of hanzo and danzo's men when Yayiko died, that could take care of itachi and his sasuno'o.
And then there is chibaku tensei, Itachi won't figure out the weakness of the jutsu without naruto's info if it is a one on one, and even if, by some GREAT MIRACLE he did, if we are talking about Nagato at full strength than he would have his six bodies to protect him from sasuno'o and until he itachi got crushed/sealed by chibaku tensei. Man this guy has so many options to take care of sasuno'o its rediculous how people think that sasuno'o makes Itachi the winner, heck he could have even summoned the Gedo Mazo and took care of that shit.

Nagato has been shown to put genjutsu barriers on his subbordinates to prevent interogation, there is no real reason to suggest he doesn't have one on himself, also the uchiha's were said to have inheritage the sage of the six paths ocular powers while the senju inherited the physical energy, Nagato, as the reincarnation of the sage has both, once again no reason to believe that he couldn't defend against an ocular genjutsu.
Another thing that could help him defend against is his spirit energy, why?
When Itachi used Tsukiyomi on kakashi, he said that (I think, it was along time ago) tsukiyomi can't be broken out of because it attacks the spirit of a person, the mind realises that it is in a genjutsu but the spirit is confused and believe that what is happening is reality and hence the unbreakable genjutsu, I'll need to check my facts though but I think that is how itachi described it, but nagato's spirit might not be affected because of his spirit 'affinity', what I mean is like his connection to the spirit world, like raising the dead, controlling the hell king, removing people's souls and the gedo mazo etc, it unlikely that this type of jutsu would work on someone loike that.
Plus Edo Madara said that RINNEGAN is the level ABOVE the ETERNAL MANGYEKO SHARINGAN, and Itachi only has NORMAL ms, I doubt his jutsu would work on a rinnegan user, especially if sasuke broke it with a mere sharingan.
Plus, if we are talking about nagato at FULL strength, then he would have his six bodies and tsukiyomi wouldn't work on the six paths, all he would have to do is stop the chakra transmission to the paths and then restart it again, Itachi will be overwhelmed in almost no rime at all in a battle against Nagato, the only reason stayed alive for so long was because he was fighting only animal at the start, and then only animal, preta and human were enough to force him torun away with his tail between his legs like he had been doing throughout that battle. As soon as all the six were summoned Jiraiya was quickly defeated and the same would happen to itachi.
Now to adress the genjutsu issue, I know what itachi fans have planned, 'oh if frog song worked on pain than there is no reason why tsukiyomi wouldn't work right?'

That frog song only worked because nagato ALLOWED it to work, Jiraiya kept running away the whole time into the tunnels and that made it hard for him to land a good hit on Jman, pain sacrificed the 3 paths in order to get Jiraiya let his guard down (to stop running away) so that he can land a hit.
Think about, the genjutsu takes time to work, pain heard the frogs singing through the pipes but still sent the paths in knowing that it was a trap because he had ALREADY summoned the other paths before that. Even pa confirmed it, when ma noted that the other psaths had been resurrected, Pa said that they were fooled by pain in order to catch them off guard, he said so himself that pain had already summoned the other paths and INTENTIONALLY fell for their trap, go and read it youselves, it is there in the manga and the anime, these are Pa's words, not mine.
The question now is that could the three paths have broken the frog song if they wanted to?

What do we know about the rinnegan? It SEES BARRIERS and is able to immediately decipher the fuctions, strengths, and weaknesses of those BARRIERS. Animal path was able to see Jiraiya's detection barrier and immediately deciphered its use, he then quickly deciphered a strategy to deal with it with his chameleon and summons.
When pein infiltrated konoha, Deva Path SAW the boundaries of the BARRIER surounding konoha and deciphered its purpose and how it works, he imediately came up with a strategy to infiltrate the barrier by having asura shoot animal into the barrier and then summoning the other paths along with konan when he was already inside the village, fooling the barrier and konoha into thinking that there were only three intruders when there were actually 7 intruders, a brilliant strategy if you think about it but that aint the point, the point is that Nagato can see through barriers and has so far showed the INTELLIGENCE and STRATEGIC aptitude to immediately decipher its functions and exploit its weaknesses, there is NO possible way that he couldn't have broken out of Jiraiya's BARRIER type genjutsu if he wanted to, it just wasn't part of the plan that's all, Jiraiya did not defeat the three pains, he was ALLOWED to kill them. If you want more proof, Pain did use BARRIER type GENJUTSU's himself, he used it on his subordinates to make them immune to interogation methods, check the part where inoichi used his mind tranfer to interogate the rain guy that jiraiya captured. .

Anyway preta didn't go anywhere near jiraiya and was used to protect the main mid, to long range atytacker by absorbing any ninjutsu that was used against them while human was sacrificed in close combat because of his lack of offensive abilities, though it was implied that human is quite good at taijutsu. A brilliant strategy that forced jiraiya to run away because, by his own words, he would definately lose if the battle carried on like that, anyway the point here is that preta was kept away from close range combat and used as protection.
To further substantiate my point, in konoha, when preta was confronted by Kiba and his mother, he ran away with his tail between his legs because why? Preta is better used as a defense against ninjutsu, against not one, but TWO TAIJUTSU users, he had to retreat because he can't absorb taijutsu. So twice now pain has acted with high intelligence and kept preta away from close range battle, and has used human instead for close range, so why, why did Pain act so OOC against Naruto, why did he send Preta into close range instead of human? Watch the fight again and you will see, he sends preta into close combat, preta dies with naruto's invisible attack, naruto then gets angry and uses rasenshuriken and then human sacrifices himself to save animal and human dies from being hit with rasenshuriken. TWO paths died.
Why was pain acted so OOC? If pain follows what we have come to know as his usual strategy, he sends human in, human dies, naruto gets angry and activates rasenshuriken and preta absorbs it. Why did human have to sacrifice himself to save animal?
All the other pains dodged the rasenshuriken without much trouble, but animal (the girl path) freezes from shock and fear of the jutsu and is unable to move, hence human has to save her and take the hit for her? WTF!!? Aren't all the paths controlled by ONE person? Aren't they supposed to act the SAME way? Their ALL nagato aren't they? So why does animal act OOC? Just so the main character can look cool and beat two paths in one go?
Asura? The main reason that naruto was unable to hit preta and forced to use an invisible attack was because of the shared vision allowing preta to anticipate all his attack? So why didn't the shared vision work when naruto 'surprise attacked asura path with that punch? There other 5 paths had a CLEAR view, why did they not see naruto's attack?
There are many other OOC things that pain did in that fight, in fact like I said, when an enemy fights naruto, it doesn't matter how strong and smart they are, they will suddenly become idiots and weak when they fight the main character, naruto was not strong enough or smart enough to beat pain, kishi rigged the fight just to make naruto win.
He was not strong or smart enough, to beat kakuzu, the same thing with pain happened, unavailable abilities (kakuzu's lost hearts and Deva not having his powers for most of the battle) and OOCness. Against Haku and Neji same thing. And many other fights, filler included or not, I want naruto to win but not in such disbelievable ways, at least now he is strong enough to actually win without me feeling like I've been dooped, which is good, I like it better that way.
Anyway the point of all this is that prior toinevitable OOCness against naruto, nagato has shown a great aptitude for strategy and a very high IQ, if he doesn't match itachi in intelligence than it is only by a VERY VERY small margin, edo nagato don't count, that wasn't nagato, that was kabuto in control.
Plus Itachi figuring out the weakness of chibaku tensei is a relatively weak feat, He had bags of info spoon fed to him by naruto, even kakashi's feat of figuring out the 5 second gap in shinra tensei was a stronger feat, since kakashi had no prior knwledge.
Edo nagato only used chibaku tensei for Naruto and Bee in the first place, in a one on one against otachi, he wouldn't even need it, he has too many convenient methods of getting read of ssuno'o as I have already mentioned a few.

Tobi said that Itachi could have killed him if he was able to figure out tobi's secretes, Itachi was Tobi's apprentice like sssuke is now for so many years and couldn't figure out shit about Tobi's abilities but look at Konan, she figured everything out up to the smallest detail and formed eleborate plans to effective ones at that and would have killed tobi if it wasn't for Izanagi and Itachi couldn't figure out shit.

All the other pains dodged the rasenshuriken without much trouble, but animal (the girl path) freezes from shock and fear of the jutsu and is unable to move, hence human has to save her and take the hit for her? WTF!!? Aren't all the paths controlled by ONE person? Aren't they supposed to act the SAME way? Their ALL nagato aren't they? So why does animal act OOC? Just so the main character can look cool and beat two paths in one go?
Asura? The main reason that naruto was unable to hit preta and forced to use an invisible attack was because of the shared vision allowing preta to anticipate all his attack? So why didn't the shared vision work when naruto 'surprise attacked asura path with that punch? There other 5 paths had a CLEAR view, why did they not see naruto's attack?
There are many other OOC things that pain did in that fight, in fact like I said, when an enemy fights naruto, it doesn't matter how strong and smart they are, they will suddenly become idiots and weak when they fight the main character, naruto was not strong enough or smart enough to beat pain, kishi rigged the fight just to make naruto win.
He was not strong or smart enough, to beat kakuzu, the same thing with pain happened, unavailable abilities (kakuzu's lost hearts and Deva not having his powers for most of the battle) and OOCness. Against Haku and Neji same thing. And many other fights, filler included or not, I want naruto to win but not in such disbelievable ways, at least now he is strong enough to actually win without me feeling like I've been dooped, which is good, I like it better that way.
Anyway the point of all this is that prior toinevitable OOCness against naruto, nagato has shown a great aptitude for strategy and a very high IQ, if he doesn't match itachi in intelligence than it is only by a VERY VERY small margin, edo nagato don't count, that wasn't nagato, that was kabuto in control.
Plus Itachi figuring out the weakness of chibaku tensei is a relatively weak feat, He had bags of info spoon fed to him by naruto, even kakashi's feat of figuring out the 5 second gap in shinra tensei was a stronger feat, since kakashi had no prior knwledge.
Edo nagato only used chibaku tensei for Naruto and Bee in the first place, in a one on one against otachi, he wouldn't even need it, he has too many convenient methods of getting read of ssuno'o as I have already mentioned a few.

Tobi said that Itachi could have killed him if he was able to figure out tobi's secretes, Itachi was Tobi's apprentice like sssuke is now for so many years and couldn't figure out shit about Tobi's abilities but look at Konan, she figured everything out up to the smallest detail and formed eleborate plans to effective ones at that and would have killed tobi if it wasn't for Izanagi and Itachi couldn't figure out shit.
Minato figured out a way to beat tobi's space time jutsu, remove his control of the fox, figure out his identity, protect his son and wife, protect the village and fight the fox and all the while making future plans for his son, all this in the space of a few seconds and I once again reiterate that Itachi was the closest person to this guy for years and could not figure out shit, pathetic, I don't know why people think this guy is the smartest person in the naruto manga, there is a big difference between beeing a good liar and being intelligent, people seem to believe that this guy is smart because he lied to everyone before he died yet forget that Tobi and Zetsu saw through all of his plans like an open book. Thr only person itachi has succesfully outsmarted is sasuke, who isn't very smart on anythingg that is not directly related to battle.
Figuring out the weakness to chibaku tensei is a very samll feat GIVEN the CIRCUMSTANCES, He had someone who had FIRST HAND experience of being on THE RECEIVING end of that technique FEEDING HIM INFO the whole time, Itachi is smart but you fanboys are overating his intelligence, he is NOT the smartest person in the naruto manga.
This guy will never be stronger than nagato and is not capable of defeating him, he struggled even against a KABUTO controlled nagato (basically a puppet) and it was a THREE on one, Kabuto attacked the three of them with nagato because he knew who was the strongest.
