Nagato outsmarted/overpowered by Itachi

Yes in this particular instance Itachi did outsmart Nagato, but when we look at Nagato I don't think he is as observant as Itachi as Nagato mostly relies on his power to overwhelm his enemies. Itachi has natural observational skills and the ability to see past things and find a solution. I found that nagato does not really have that same sense that Itachi does. However, that does not necessarily mean that Itachi would beat Nagato in a one on one fight. I think in the end Itachi would be overwhelmed and defeated. Nagato has A lot more chakra then Itachi, being that he is an Uzumaki.

This is one fight, that I would love to see in the cartoons.

the power of ct is used by mass which amaterasu could have easily gotten rid of but thats a risky tech to use itachi simply used the best method available why waste chakra destroying it himself knowing theres two fully powered jinchuriki right next to him.

I just realized this when re-reading the part when Itachi got out of Kabuto's control and fought Nagato who was fully controlled by Kabuto. He blinded Nagato's summons and found a way to defeat Chibaku Tensei. Itachi even helped Naruto and B break free from Nagato, both are helpless and could have been killed if it weren't for Itachi's presence. Finally, he was the one who sealed Nagato. So I do believe that Itachi could be a very difficult opponent for Nagato and has chances of beating him.xd

Itachi would get raped. How would he get out of Chibaku without Bee or Naruto's OPness to help?

itachi definitely outsmarts nagato any day, but theres no way in hell he over powers him, nagato has monstrous chakra and vast amount of techniques compared to itachi. in a 1 on 1 fight, i believe that nagato would win because of his advantages in power and chakra, but itachi will give him hell.

Naruto and B didn't helped him at all except for the part when the three of them broke Chibaku Tensei. It was actually Itachi who helped those two when being restrained by Nagato.

He saved bee and naruto, he also sealed him. why stop cs when you can just seal nagato while its being created? nagato is too slow, itachi can spam amateretsu, plus he's so much more intelligent. there is a reason tobu was the real boss and ordered pain around. theres a reason tobi didn't start this shit until itachi was gone. theres a reason itachi call tobi a pathetic shell.

tailed beast are vulnerable to genjutsu and are not smart enough to not look in his eyes so you fail......unless your saying itachi can't do it without genjustu when amateretsu would finish it eventually

Itachi didn't outsmart anyone, he accidentally got caught in a genjutsu he didn't even mean to use on himself. Also, there is no way, Itachi out-powers Nagato. People say oh, Itachi seals Nagato but they always conveniently forget that Nagato can seal Itachi with the Gedomazo.

Highly unlikely!! Nagato (yahiko ressurect) fought naruto sage mode and then 4 up to 8 tails naruto after destroying the whole of the leaf village with a single shinra tensei after which he revives the whole village with his LEFT OVER chakra.. Naruto got a easy pass btw did you guys know he can use all 5 elements..He has yet to show us so much. I gotta admit itachi is a wise n well rounded ninja and that would work in his favour in the fight. He will NOT die in the fight but i sense he would retreat and live to fight another day because nagato WILL overpower him

They both have counters to each other. Itachi has more intelligence than Nagato but Nagato isn't a complete idiot either. Nagato has a more overwhelming power but Itachi himself has a set of abilities that make him formidable in a 1v1.

In my opinion, Nagato is slightly stronger than Itachi. Itachi is capable of defeating Nagato though.

i believe itachi can win due to the fact that if you pay very close attention to the show you will see and hear that itachi was the uchiha clans prodigy cause he was very intelligent and was able to put fear even in the eyes of the 3rd hokage when he told the 3rd that if anything happens to sasuke he will destroy the hidden leaf village. nagato doesnt have that drive as much as itachi does at all and that alone makes him weak at least itachi has the will of fire for the hidden leaf village and to stop war as well so nagato only has um trying to stop war

Nagato doesn't have full control over his powers, smh. He's mastered rinnengan and all it's paths, he was able to master all 5 elements in the short time he trained with Jiriya. How do Itachi fans come up with this nonsense. Itachi had ms for 8 years, it's not something he can spam or practice since it'll blind him. Nagato's around 40, so that's 30 years of rinnengan practice.

Never did anything like that happen in the manga. It was Danzo whom he threatened.
