Since the Rinnegan is the final evolution of the sharingan which belongs to the uchiha clan Nagato's strengh with it is not good enough... Tobi already said that MS Sasuke was already close to the same power as Nagato that should tell you that Nagato could not defeat Itachi...

a susanoo will smash asura paths to peices and its only one nagato he cannot absorb yata mirror wich itachi can block with and if he stay to close he will get jabbed

amtaresu wouldnt work nagato has preta path you have the wrong perspective of the sword of totsuka it is a gourd that SEALS it doesnt just chop through everything yes it can cut and crap but it isnt god it wouldnt destroy outer path so easy its not made of wood it would just keep attacking if nagato even lays a HAND on itachi he would remove his soul with human path ct isnt going to be at point blank range otherwise he wouldve used it before he had to use his most powerful ranged attack yasaka magatama cant you get that nagato doesnt need to look in itachis eyes he has rinnegan he just needed his paths or more animals which kabuto admitted he couldve used more shared vision ftw izanami worked on kabuto because he couldnt accept his fate like a dumbass nagato CAN accept his fate which will end the loop i really think you think itachis jutsu have no weakness even itachi said every jutsu has a weakness even nagatos thats why hes dead but im not saying he would rape itachi as you thought nagato would get owned it a couple mins i am an itachi fanboy myself but i am aware of how strong nagato is and even though itachi is my fav i gotta give it to nagato imo

in a instant ok lets pu a scenario

1.itachi and nagato meet preparing for battle
nagato instantly uses CT(just like his fans always saying) then itachi activates susanoo pierce it w/ sword of totsuka.,.,.,BYE ct

2.itachi and nagato instanly clash looking in each others eyes(nagato fans dont tell me that nagato will not look on itachi's eye coz if he didn't he will get hit by amaterasu)then nagato uses shinra tensei then stab itachi,,,itachi turns into crows and nagato didn't notice that his in tsukoyomi(just like what itachi always do)

3.nagato summons the statue itachi stabs it w/ sword of totsuka bye gedo mazo
ok nagato uses shinra tensei itachi fly away,,, then so what?? ok nagato uses bansho tenshin to pull itachi then stabs him then.,.,.,poof itachi turns into crows

4.itachi uses izanami

battle end 3-4 mins

Long Range:Nagato can just fly around in the air spamming shinra tensei Itachi will keep getting thrown back and Itachi will try hit him with Yasaka which Nagato will laugh at because he will absorb it and get stronger.Then Itachi will die after Nagato keeps spamming ST because one hes getting hit by a attack that destroyed a forest and two he cant maintain susanoo longer then Nagato can use the rinnegan then Nagato will think this is too easy and revive him.

Mid Range:Summons attack Itachi then Nagato uses Divine Attractor and Preta activated he starts sucking up Susanoo.Itachi uses Totsuka is gets repeled by Shinra Tensei he gets knocked back a mile.Then Itachi comes back and Nagato does the same or he could just use Celestial Tera Blast

Close Range:Asura Path Missles and Head Cannon with Preta Path

At the time Nagato was stronger than Sasuke and so was Itachi my point was Itachi had already killed Nagato before when he hit him with Amaterasu...Nagato's body was being put back together due to the Edo Tensei...point blank Nagato can't beat Itachi...

Genjutsu works also when its cast on the summons' eyes , Jiraiya's genjutsu affected nagato when Ma and Pa used it on 3 of the 6 paths...IMO

I'm not a fanboy, I like both itachi and Nagato-though i admit I prefer Itachi...but still, with Susanoo nagato could use only ST or CT against it but Itachi can use genjutsu and f.e.izanagi too...I still say Itachi would win, but maybe not.
