Now many of the NB's members are in uproar about Naruto saving Gai.
I will address that and my take on why i believe no , ''asspull'', ''plot-hole'', or bad writing has occured.
I will also explain why i believe Gai was not healed and will still die.
[Bear with the explanations and please take time to read through]
[Important Note -This is my theory/opinion , and should not be taken as fact until proved by manga or otherwise]
八門 - Hachimon - Eight Gates:
As we know the 8 Gates unblock the Eight specific tenketsu, to grant the user a massive increase in abilities:
1. The Gate of Opening (開門, Kaimon)
2. The Gate of Healing (休門, Kyūmon)
3. The Gate of Life (生門, Seimon)
4. The Gate of Pain (傷門, Shōmon)
5. The Gate of Limit (杜門 Tomon)
6. The Gate of View (景門, Keimon)
7. The Gate of Wonder (驚門, Kyōmon)
8. The Gate of Death (死門, Shimon)
As we also know, the most important rule regarding a user of the 8 Gates is that they will die.
To activate and push open the final Gate, Gai forced the chakra to open the final gate:
As i mentioned in the picture the final gate/heart was then surrounded by chakra.
Eight Gates Body Damage:
From Gai's phenomenal attack on Madara we know that he has literally been destroying his own body also.
For example his Leg:
Gai has literally cooked himself into ash as his body begins to self cremate.
However, the anger is related in part to the following scan:
Now as we know based on the rules and previous scan depicting Gai forcing through chakra to open the final gate.
This scan is illustrating that the Chakra has begin to run out and is on the verge of depleting causing his death.
The anger peaked when the following happened:
Now from that scan it appears that Naruto stopped Gai's impending death with a mear touch.
Many have stated that its an ''AssPull that Naruto has healed/saved Gai''
Here is where I differ and I explain why below
Naruto Did Not ''Heal'' Gai:
Yup, just as I wrote, I do not believe he has healed Gai.
What I believe happened was a Momentary Transfer of Chakra from Naruto to Gai
Let us now speak about the Chakra Transfer Technique :
Chakra sharing is not something unknown in the NarutoVerse.
From Tsunade using Remote Healing via her summoning Katsuya, to Juugo using his Sage Transformation to transfer Natural Energy.
In this instance i will focus on Naruto.
Naruto has shared chakra so much throughout this war it is mind boggling.
I will begin with the following scan:
As you can see Naruto managed to, [un/intentionally], give Hinata some of the Kyuubi chakra via holding her hand.
Naruto began to freely share chakra, following Shikaku's plan, to the rest of the alliance
Or as Madara put it :
Naruto during the war had become so proficient in transmitting chakra, that he became able to not only just share chakra, but also TRANSFORM CHAKRA TO MEET EACH PERSONS TYPE
This is extremely important as this means Naruto would be able transfer chakra with just a touch, [very common and not unheard of in the NarutoVerse], however Naruto would be able to no only transfer the chakra but suit it to the specific type of the person receiving it.
Now, how do we know that GAI was not healed, but recieved chakra, lets look back:

Gai's Imminent Death:
As I mentioned earlier, I still believe GAI WILL DIE.
Let me explain why below.
Following my theory that Naruto had stopped Gai from dying by transferring chakra into him, I believe Gai will have his final moments with Lee, TenTen and Kakashi.
Previously Kurama while in control of Naruto shared chakra with Kakashi who was very low on chakra:
Kakashi then used this boost to Kamui the 8 tails and then:
Now I specifically used this example to show the chakra like everything else can and will run out.
In Gai's case he was so badly damaged, I believe this will be sooner rather than later.
Some may argue, if Naruto transferred some chakra, [his own or Biijuu], how comes Gai did not Illuminate as the others.
I only point to the following:
Everytime Naruto shared Kurama's chakra, it was evident as the recipient was covered.
In Gai's case we saw that internally :
Which can mean one thing:
Naruto was able to know exactly that Gai not only needed chakra, but needed Chakra injected into his heart/final gate.
How did he know this:
Naruto himself is unsure, however we can see he is currently in Sage Mode as well as accessing Biiju Chakra if not specifically Kurama.
Just my opinion on the whole thing, and like I said theory
